"we are vegetarian and there was nothig much for us in the buffet it usede to be different before.last year was also the same but i did ask when i made reservatio and was hoping to get someting there.
but our server was really very nice i forget her name she really made an efooft to get us pasta by requesting the cheff and when we were done she braugt us a snack an indian one and gave it us as we could not eat that in the end.
we love the ambience ,would like to go there more often but very limited choices for vegetarians so we go where cheff is more creative and give us a very satisfying meal.

"Will say up front I hold the Hotel DuPont to a high standard for a brunch like this. Food was fine but not spectacular, but what rattled us was how poor the service was - normally their strength. We were in corner spot by street and our server was slow, not attentive, impolite, and seemingly distracted. Dishes were not removed, silverware not replaced, and water not filled over Fathers Day Brunch. Not even a mention of special day. Even the folks serving at food stations seemed off, and dishes were not labeled, so you hadd to open every tureen to see what was inside. Not mastering the details. All together, it just feels like something is slipping here. The hotel brunch is supposed to feel special and it was just so so."

"This Iconic restaurant in Wilmington is a must visit. It is unique and unmatched for it's excellent cusine and atmosphere. The historic dinning room is a feast for the eyes and takes you back to the days of the giants of industry and commerce. My partner and I enjoyed the tasting menu which was a three course selection of outstanding original composition and presentation. Each dish was a work of art.
We received a complementary pre meal shooter which was well enjoyed.
I recommend the Green Room to anyone who is looking for the highest level dining experience in New Castle County and rivals what is available in Philadelphia. I rely on the Green Room to celebrate every important occasion."

"I cannot say enough about this restaurant. It is in a charming room with lots of character. We started out with crab cakes that were wonderfully presented individually. I had their chickory and pear salad which was delicious and again beautifully presented. The highlight however were the scallops almond crusted which were the best scallops I have ever had. They were a mix of sweet and savory and out of this world delicious!"

"Everything about this restaurant was perfect - the menu, food, wine, wait staff/servers, décor, live piano dinner music - but it closes early (9:30 p.m.) for a downtown restaurant, so we felt the need to leave a bit faster than we would have liked. "I selected The Green Room for a special evening out when my mother was in town to celebrate Mother's Day. We had tickets for the evening show at the DuPont Theater, and with their available Prix Fixe menu, it was a great option. The restaurant was beautifully appointed, and the piano music was very nice. The service was outstanding, as were our menu choices. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Many restaurants claim to have a five star dining experience, but The Green Room has truly earned the rating."

"We made an early reservation for a large party to celebrate three college graduations and we were very very pleased. Service was superb, food delightful and the wine list extensive. Our waitress was adept in helping us select wines for the table that were both excellent and within our budget. A pianist located in the alcove above the dining area provided quiet entertainment, but did not interfere with conversation. Portions as to be expected here were not large, but were elegantly presented. The surf and turf was the exception; with two portions of filet, it could have been shared The saute special- corvina with lobster rice had big chunks of lobster (whole claw meat in one case) with a perfectly prepared portion of the fish."

"We stayed at the Hotel Dupont which was absolutely lovely itself but dinner at the Green Room was the icing on the cake. The room is pure Old World elegance which is hard to find nowadays. The food was fresh and modern French cuisine which made for a perfect dichotomy. Service was excellent with just the right amount of wait time between courses. The brunch the next day looked spectacular but with children $38 a head was just too pricey for us. Definitely seemed worth it if that was your main meal of the day. Again the room is breathtaking and the set up for brunch was beautiful. Definitely going to try to return there for brunch someday."

"Too few staff was working the Buffet tables, the food was so picked over that I felt I was at a best western motel instead of the Hotel DuPont. What food I was able to get was very good, but they seemed to be running out of everything. Not worth the price. On a good note: the waiter working our table was the best, he worked very hard to overcome what he know was missing from the Hotel DuPont’s experience he gets top marks for his very skilled service."

"After living in the area for many years, we decided to finally try The Green Room. The fact that it has a 28 for food from Zagat is shocking. The food was awful and the service mediocre. I don't know what they put in the pan molded crab cake, but it tasted like cat food. We live on the Eastern shore and have rarely had a crab cake that was so bad. The grouper and lobster special was tasteless and completely dried out either as a result of overcooking, sitting under the heat lamp forever, or both.
The hotel and surroundings exude historic charm, but that is where the good part of the experience begins and ends.
Do yourself a favor: stop by for one of their famous almond macaroons and to take in the surroundings, but DO NOT eat!!!"

"We decided to participate in this year's Dining Out in Wilmington and chose the Green Room. My boyfriend had not been there since he was a child; nearly 40 years ago. Being there again brought back many childhood memories of his visits to the Green Room with his parents for Sunday Brunch and holidays. It was nice to see that the service, ambiance and food were still being upheld to standards from years ago. This is a dining experience we will both remember. And it won't be another 40 years before we come back!"

"We came during restaurant week. I ordered the chicken meal. It was a dried out and the portion was very small. My sister's salmon looked dry, as well. I sent my chicken meal back and ordered the short ribs off of the regular menu. Delicious..Also, the pea soup was very good. The dessert bar was ok. My server was not very good. She was just fair. She slammed plates on the table and just didnt exute care..Overall, the ambiance and food presentation are always worth coming back for...I had good food and service the previous time I came. Perhaps, coming during restaurant week wasn't a good idea."

"We ate at the Green Room Tuesday night during Wilmington Restaurant week. A good time to eat there when the chefs are allowed to be creative. Our dishes were nothing we have ever seen on the regular menu and very good. The only quibble of the evening was that the service started out very slow. It took 10 minutes to even see water on the table, but after that service improved. We will certainly return for this event as well as the Delaware Dines Out. The chefs always outdo themselves with new tasty combinations."

"Regular menu was way too expensive for regular dining, but we went for restaurant week, and I would go again for such an event. Everything on the wine list was extremely expensive - it was more economical to get a cocktail with twice the amount of alcohol! I spent some time in the Green Room bar, which was beautiful and very old-fashioned looking with comfy chairs, but there was only one bartender, and he wasn't very fast."

"What a lovely experience we had recently at the Green Room in the Hotel DuPont. A few close family and I went there to celebrate my husband's 75th birthday. It was truly special. We were treated like royalty. My husband is gluten free and that was no problem at all. Two in our party enjoyed the Chef's Tasting menu and it couldn't have been better. Two of us had the special Scallop and Tuna special which was to die for.... The food and presentation were simply perfection! Cheers for this Old World charm with exceptional chef, food and staff!"

"The Green Room at Hotel du Pont never disappoints. We celebrated our anniversary here, along with our 6-year-old son. It was a very good experience for him, too. We really appreciate a restaurant that accommodates children (by offering food choices just for kids and great service) without dumbing-down the adult menu or sacrificing quality or service. The Green Room handles this superbly. Our frisée and golden beet salads were delicious. The surf-and-turf and scallops entrées were scrumptious. We were too full for dessert, but we got the Hotel's famous complimentary macaroon cookies to go - couldn't pass those up! The decor in the Green Room is comfortable, very ornate and beautiful - never get tired of looking up at that ceiling!"

"My husband and I were at the Green Room to celebrate his 41st year anniversary working with the Dupont Company. The Room is very impressive,romantic and elegant. Our meal was excellent and very well prepared. The dessert was a work of art and was delicious too! Our servers were very attentive without seeming to hover over you during your dinner. Overall, it was a very enjoyable and memorable dining experience."

"My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and breakfast in the green room! We have made our visit to the DuPont Hotel a yearly experience and look forward to it.
