"This is the only place in the neighborhood, so it does draw some people. The food is mediocre, menu dull, service pretty lame. Come on already and get your act together! A new chef and a better menu could really do wonders."

"Very small wine list, but very reasonably priced. If you''re really a wine afficionado, this place is not for you (unless you bring your own--I don't know what their corkage policy is). But otherwise, it's an exceptionally pleasant place for a good dinner."

"I have been to East End Kitchen a number of times---for coffee, brunch, lunch and dinner. The menu has many different options and there is something for everyone. Brunch during weekends is very busy, so be sure to book a reservation. I recently had dinner there during the week and was very impressed with the food. I especially liked the baby artichoke appetizer and the salads were excellent. Service was very friendly and the ambience is lovely---not too bright, not too dim. This is a gem of a restaurant in the East End Avenue area and the neighborhood residents here are thrilled to have it. It is definitely the best dining restaurant east of 1st Avenue"

"Food was good but not outstanding, Howevere, we were seated at a back table and the atmosphere was claustrophobic and hot. Asked for the air conditioning to be turned and they did but not much help. We will try again but not at that table."

"What a great find! Not exactly "close" to anything being on East End Ave in the 80s, but totally worth the trek. Delicious options, everything was great, and the menu was diverse enough for a variety of palates. I'd def recommend and will !00% return!"

"A welcome addition to a neighborhood with mostly Italian options. Food is good, if not memorable, and lots of choices on the menu. Reasonably-priced options for wine by the glass, although the food pricing seems a tad high."

"Great little restaurant in a nice quiet area of town. The food was superb and the ambience provided for a nice relaxing evening. I would definitely recommend East End Kitchen to any of my friends (in fact, I already have); even the picky ones."

"East End Kitchen is a true neighborhood gem. Great food at resonable prices. One constructive criticism - they should be a little freer with the bread."

"Absolutely a surprise. I was simply looking for a place to eat but I was happy to find that I didn't just eat there but I instead really enjoyed the entire experience. It is awesome to finally find a place on the upper east side that serves an amazing brunch and is not overly expensive. I will definitely be going back next weekend. And one other thing, the service was fantastic and on par with many other fancy restaurants I've been to, so thank you."

"We have had many meals at East End and they have varied in quality and service Dinner this week was a disaster with a boeuf bourguignon that might have had an entire pepper mill ground over it. Salad with sliced chicken was also covered with pepper flakes and inedible The waiter seemed concerned, but was very busy. We finished our wine, had some really weak coffee and left hungry. The restaurant is so pretty, with a good bar "buzz" but the kitchen and service are unreliable."

"I live across the street and my boyfriend and I only just made it over here - I watched it open - and I'm kicking myself. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, the service couldn't be more attentive (Shannon was our server) and the food was really excellent. We had the scallops (delicious sear), fried artichokes (just wow), baby lamb chops, and seared duck breast (a full breast cooked to perfection). Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly and there's nothing about the meal that we didn't enjoy. We will be back for the Sunday burger and beer!"

"This was my second time at this restaurant. I had no idea when I booked it that they were only serving a $68 per person pre-fixe menu. I also was unhappy with the table I was given. The hostess told me I could not have a better located table because they were ALL reserved. Some of those tables that remained unfilled even after we were finished and leaving. Not sure I will make the journey all the way to East End again."

"East End Kitchen is a great neighborhood find! I am so glad that they are right around the corner from my apt. The food is always really fresh and made with locally sourced ingredients. The brunch is amazing and you get a free beverage! They have specials- Monday and Tuesday night wine is 1/2 price! Totally worth getting out for a date night."

"I love this place and frequent it often, but I don't know why they don't offer better bread at lunch. I like toast, but not with soup or salad. How about a few slices of a baguette? Thanks. I'll be back."

"Consistently excellent food. Service can be highly variable, ranging from friendly/cordial to clueless. One time service was on the ball (e.g. anticipating questions), another it was frustrating (e.g. vanishing for 20+ minutes). The lighting and acoustics are excellent. EEK's corkage fee ($20) is very reasonable. I expect to return soon and hope service consistency improves."

"We were a party of four. From the receptionist to our servers the service was great. All of us enjoyed the French onion soup special and two of us had the risotto of the day. One of us had the burger complete with fries and onion rings. My husband had shrimp and scallops. Everyone of us enjoyed our meal."

"Fabulous E.E. neighborhood place that, thank goodness, everyone from the Westside or downtown don't know about. The bartenders are very nice and knowledgeable about the neighborhoods going ons, too.
Three Cheers!

"Pancakes and French Toast were average ... nothing special. The atmosphere is comfortable and the noise level allowed easy conversation. The service was below average. My husband ordered a mixed fruit dessert which never arrived. The server was notified, but seemed disinterested. When the bill arrived, it reflected the dessert charge. We had to wait for a manager to remove the charge. We have a two visit rule ... we will give East End Kitchen one more try. Hopefully, they will redeem themselves."

"I have dined at EastEnd several times before with my extended family and had a lovely time. However, a friend and I came in last week, and we were disappointed with service. We waited 45min for appetizer, and another hour for entrees. Our server disappeared. The manager assured us a couple different times that our meals would be just a few minutes. The food was good, but it was difficult to enjoy the meal."

"East End is consistent and accommodating for substitutions and requests. The service can be inconsistent depending on which server you get. Kevin is great. Steve the bartender is fun and attentive. He is smart and charming. I would like a bit more of a menu with more options."
