Redwater Rustic Grille - South
Redwater Rustic Grille’s market driven menu is a fresh interpretation of contemporary West Coast Cuisine with signature dishes and innovative creations. A favorite destination for wine-lovers and foodies alike, Redwater’s wine menu features specialties from smaller boutique wineries, many of which are not found elsewhere in the city. The large selection of wine complements the executive chef's menu of seasonal robust dishes. Burnished cherry wood, travertine tile, soft lighting and the large oval glass wine cellar create an ambiance of casual refinement. Servers are warmly professional and their enthusiasm for great food and wine is infectious. Redwater is a proud recipient of the 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 Wine Spectator Awards. "We started off with crab cakes. Very good job. The beef tenderloin was cooked to my preference, no sauce, gnocchi very much like home made and asparagus tasty as well. Someone ordered the pork chop, with the same side dishes. The pork chop was awesome, the sauce a bit too salty. Another at the table enjoyed the salmon, mashed potatoes and roasted carrots. Again all was seasoned well and satisfying. One thing that might be questionable, is the fact that you choose the sauce for your fish or meat choice. With these prices and the caliber of the chefs, that might be a wise choice of the chefs? Moved on to dessert. Creme brûlée yummy and rich, like it should be. Another person ordered the cheesecake. It was the real deal!"

"On my second trip to Redwater South, I found the service and food just as good as the first time (which was great!). They are very knowledgeable about gluten free choices, and as a celiac, this was very important to me. The staff is always friendly and the restaurant is more upscale than most offerings in and around Acadia."

"Food was very nice, it was our anniversary. I had booked with open table and requested a romantic table. The table was in a nice spot. The noise was loud so we couldn't actually talk while we ate without saying "pardon" many times we ate dinner and left. We asked the server to repeat things too! we are not normally hard of hearing! Server was very nice. We were given a nice anniversary treat for dessert!"

"Fabulous service from all. I like the short and sweet menu, with the choice of sauces. Are food was fantastic, full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The white chocolate cheesecake was on the bland side, but the berries helped with that. This was not my first time there and I will continue to go back."

"I have been at this RWG many times and always had great quality food. This time I had to pick thru the salad as there were "bad" leaves and overall not much to get excited about. Had my favourite Wild Shrimp and the shrimp and sauce were great, but the crustini was so hard I couldn't cut it, so couldn't eat it. Probably didn't need the carbs anyway. Spoke to the waitress and she passed along to the manager. They were very apologetic and took the salad off the bill and comped us a desert....so nice recovery. I'm sure it will be great next time....just a bad day....but not awful."

"Redwater South is a favorite for us. Took my wife on May 5 for her birthday dinner. The service was as attentive and excellent as it always is. My 8 oz. tenderloin was overcooked. It was dealt with positively and professionally by our server; the manager visited to reaffirm the server's view that my meal must be perfect. Second time around it was cooked beautifully. The steak was taken off our bill, even though the restaurant corrected the issue, and our server explained that the first steak was not cooked to the restaurant's standards either so they will not bill for it. I can respect that. My wife's Arctic Char was outstanding, the appies were decadent. Things happen; it's all in how those things get dealt with. Great job!"

"My friend and I arrived on time for our lunch reservation at 11:30. I didn't request a booth on the form but asked for one upon our arrival as we wanted a quiet place to visit. Where do we get seated but directly across from the noisy kitchen! We politely asked for a quieter booth and were moved only a couple of booths down, still by a kitchen door but only slightly better and had to talk louder than normal to be heard. We were too polite to ask for yet another spot. So I take the time to make a reservation, arrive on time to an empty restaurant and are seated at the worst seat in the restaurant. In my opinion, we should have the best table at that point. Other than that, the food and service were great but the seating very disappointing."

"Price point and quantity of your appetizers are to expensive. And I really didn't like the waitress continuing to ask us for bottle water, distilled water to bump out bill up. "As always, we enjoyed our lunch at the Redwater. I love their $20 wine specials on Tuesdays. We have tried some great wines at a truly great price! In most cases, they are less expensive than you would pay for the same bottle at the liquor store.

"I had only been to the Redwater Rustic Grille one other time, but it wasn't this location and it was a very long time ago. Our server was attentive but not overly so, the wine ($20 Tuesdays) was great, and the food was wonderful. We all had the Halibut and I asked mine to be cooked just a bit rarer than the others. It was moist and perfectly done. Would recommend the restaurant for sure."

"We had the shrimp appy and you must try it. The Chili Garlic butter is incredible. Our steaks and Primb rib were done perfectly and the taste was outstnding. It was a wonderful dining experience."

"A menu with great variety. We were there for lunch so I was pleased withe the variety of salads and mine was exceptional. My senior parents thought the menu was excellent. They thought the decor was lovely and the staff placed us in a nice cozy spot. A good experience. Next time we will have to try out the wines."

"The only thing I would say is they don't allow changes to their menu. I asked if I could modify the entree and I was not allowed.
There was a lot of food on the menu I am mot allowed to eat. Why do they not allow a side salad as a side that comes with the food?"

"It seems the menu has changed for the worse, and the prep in the dishes is not the same. Tomato salad lacks the flavour it use to have.
