Ajna Bar
Ajna Bar presents diners with the ultimate restaurant experience and has truly become an NYC staple destination. Eclectic Asian decor encompasses two vast dining rooms while world-renowned DJ's spin in Ajna's lounge late into the night in an intimate yet vibrant setting.
Dining with a large group for a special occasion? Reserve one of our two Pagodas, Ajna Bars semi-private dining areas, that can accommodate between 15-25 guests for a seated dinner, or up to 50 guests for a cocktail reception. We offer large groups a selection of prix fixe tasting menus served family style to allow all guests to experience a tour of our of a wide variety of our signature dishes and sushi.

"I picked this as a sushi place(according to Opentable), but they NO LONGER SERVE SUSHI and the menu on Opentable is obsolete. staff told us the place is going through changes and "experimenting". Staff/service was slow and rude. We asked one of the staffers who looked like a teenager to call our waitress to order another round. He instead ordered them himself. Then when she did show we ordered them, and got two rounds, neither one of which was made like we wanted. The staffer who turned out to be manager came back and lectured us for two+ minutes how we should only order with waitress. Later he tried to add that extra round (which we didn't get) to the bill!!! Drinks were weak too! Expensive place not worth it."

"I really like the ambiance of this place and the music that they play. We started with some cocktails before ordering the food. The gin and tonic received was however tasted only water.
The food menu is in this place is limited, but I have no problem with that. The waiter also recommend a wine that went well with the food. Having that said the food itself was just ok, and nothing special. I expected much more from this place.
From a service point of view, well. It was fairly poor all over. I will give you an example. When cleaning the table, they doped a fork on the floor and when picking it up they hit one of the guests at the table next to us with an elbow. They did not even take time to apologize to them while we were present."

"I went to Ajna with my friends for Restaurant Week. We were pleasantly surprised by the food, drinks, and decor. It is a very large space and one that can easily accommodate groups, but it is also nice for two. The decor causes an impression from the moment you walk in. "I was looking forward to bringing my friend here for her birthday with some girls, taking advantage of the fact that's it's restaurant week and so we'd treat ourselves to a place we wouldn't normally go. After we sat down and someone handed us our menus, I asked for the restaurant week menus and I got an unapologetic "we don't do that on weekends" (even though I specifically triple checked on the restaurant week line-up list to confirm that it was available every day but Sunday).The guy shook his finger at my menu and sarcastically said "you'll probably find something in there you like." Oh, thanks. I'm out of characters so I guess the review ends here."

Service wasn't the best - waited 20 minutes for dessert - but we had late (10:30 pm) reservations so it's understandable - Ajna transforms itself from restaurant to nightclub at that time. Restaurant is metric tons better than the nightclub portion of it, nightclub part seems to be typical Meatpacking District (and lol, Sobeski vodka for VIP). As a pan-Asian woman, I appreciated the pan-Asian decor. Food was well presented and incredibly good; I recommend the salmon & lobster roll. I do not however recommend sparkling water; $8 for Pellingrino? No. Cute place for a dinner date, but leave before the girls in Forever 21 dresses show up."

"Decided to try Ajna for Restaurant week and I wasn't disappointed. Started out at the bar where I asked the bartender for a good strong drink and he suggested "Mint Rush" which is made with bourbon, lime juice and mint leaves. The drink was delicious. For Dinner I had the Butternut Squash Soup as the appetizer which was excellent. You could taste the hint of Ginger in it. Then I had the Miso Glazed Salmon which was tender and delicious. For dessert, I had the molten chocolate cake, yummy. I also tried another drink called Kanji with is made with passion fruit and tequila. That drink took me away to the tropics. It was so good, after dinner we went back to the lounge area for another....... I would definitely go back."

"I read a few bad reviews, therefor I was a bit nervous about being responsible for booking for our group.
But everything turned out great. We were there during restaurant week and the food was delicious. All 5 of us had the lobster tempura and we all loved it. 4 of us had salmon as a main, and it was the best salmon I ever had and all my friends at our table agreed!
But what really made our evening an unforgettable experience was our waitress Lauren. She was so friendly and fun and on top of everything she arranged us a great table in the bar section where we then danced of our calories.
It was a great night!"

"When we arrived even though we had a reservation we were told there was a 40 minute wait for our table. The food was good however the service was very slow. We had to ask three times about where one of our group's appetizer was - the rest of us had been served 10 minutes before. Staff were on the verge of being rude to us."
