Deeply entrenched in downtown Montreal for more than 2 decades. Carefully staffed by people trained to treat every guest as a celebrity and invitingly decorated with complex figures embedded in simple, modern lines. Le Taj has a very visible tandoor (clay oven) around which you can see the chef prepare delights such as lamb chops, kebabs, garlic shrimps, chicken tikka and, of course, naan bread.

"I went with a small group and appreciated the fact that we could share our meals. The service was discreet, and the waiter was helpful when came time to choose the right mix of dishes. He even did his best to speak French to us. I would go back again."

"The restaurant is beautiful, the crockery and cutlery are beautiful too. The food is really good.
The only thing was the service, we specify that we were celebrating the birthday of one of us but we didn't recive any communication or detail. And for the first time you go is important that the waiter give you explanation about the food."

"I took my Fiance to Le Taj for his 30th birthday as we both love Indian food. The service was impeccable from the moment we walked in. Food was incredible and matched all the reviews I read prior to going to the restaurant. One thing to note though if you like traditional buttered chicken deep orangey red in color, then it's not something to order at Le Taj as their version is a creamy looking buttery sauce. The chicken is exceptionally tender but it's a completely different taste to the buttered chicken I would assume most people like myself are used to. Nonetheless, the samosa's are amazing, the garlic prawn fantastic, the beef vindaloo the best I've ever had and the service was just magnificent. Sure it's pricey, but I still recommend it"

"The food was great!! Three notes: the food did not come out hot (temperature), service was a little slow, and it was pricey for Indian food. Other than that: food was great and that's most important when traveling for me."
