"Our dining experience at Deluxe was delightful! We sat on the patio and enjoyed the view of Whiterock Beach and soaked up some rays. All 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I am told by my dinner companions that the lamb was superb. The presentation of the food was artistic and pleasing. The dessserts and coffees were perfect too. Perfect portions and visually appealing. Our server was fantastic. She was very observant and non-intrusive. None of us ever poured our own wine. She was on top of everything! We look forward to our next visit."

"Although we enjoyed the dining experience and the flavours we found the main dishes expensive. The Paella at $30 had 4 prawns and some chorizo should be priced at $23 - 25 . The beef tenderloin with 1 1/2 " crab cakes and a 3 1/2" lobster tail was $55 - again should be $ 35 - $40. The wine mark up was more than double.... far too steep. The selection of wines by the glass were very limited and pricey.
The only outstanding thing about this restaurant was the view !

When looking at the menu from Bishop's Restaurant on 4th Ave., the most expensive dish is $42. People want value and I think the overall value is not there at Deluxe Restaurant."

"The food was nothing to write home about and the large room upstairs, that affords a nice view, was starkly decorated in minimalistic fashion and extremely loud. There was a large family function so this may have contributed to the noise-level. The food was disappointing. The salads (beet and berry) were typical, the paella was tasteless and though the gnocchi was good, the pork was fatty and unappealing. The highlight of the meal was the thai soup This seems far nore like "the place to be seen" than a place I would like to eat. There are many better gourmet restaurants in White Rock on Marine Drive, where the food is far superior and the ambiance more conducive to a romantic dinner that permits conversation."

"Food was superb, excellent quality, well conceived menu. We had three filets at our table, all cooked perfectly to order, the shrimp crab pernod sauce was excellent as was the vege that accompanied the meal were excellent. The upstairs room could do with some acoustic softening. Great night out."

"We went there on a Monday, around 2:00. Quiet at that time so hard to asseess the above features. Generally happy with the service and food. The restaurant needs a wider price range for their wines and also more variety for beers on tap. We were upstairs which would be good for a group booking of 20+/-."

"Although the food was really first class, Deluxe doesn't seem a good fit for those people over forty. It was VERY loud. The furnishings don't absorb sound, they heighten them and the other diners there on Saturday night were there to party. If you were alive during the Nixon administration, pass this one by."

"Went here for my hubby's birthday with my kids (one being just shy of his first birthday). The server was fantastic! My hubby had a small complaint regarding his dish (he felt there was too much fat marbled in with the meat) and the server brought us another order without hesitation. He also provided us with an additional side of Mac and cheese for my baby as he just Loved it! And he brought us a small bowl of yam purée for my little munchkin. When I received the bill, I noticed that he ididn't charge us for the additional entree, nor the extra sides for my baby. The server said that he always wanted his guests to leave happy and completely satisfied. This was our second time at Deluxe and we will definitely be returning!"

"Location? Great - it's east of the pier, so it's on a quieter part of the beach, and right across from parking.
Menu? Great - I thought it had some unique items on it. Your mileage may vary!
Food? Also great. Not truly exceptional, but great. They make their risotto the way I like it, which is to say not white, bland, and creamy.
Room? I think it falls short here. It's very basic, very white, and looks like it was done on the cheap. It's not white in an aesthetically interesting way, it's white in a "we painted everything white" way.
Value? Poor. Without even touching on "downtown prices" I don't think the food delivered, period. And the experience of dining there - the design and decor - was at odds with the pr"

"We had a fabulous time. This is our first time at this restaurant and have wanted to try it for a long time. It didn't disappoint. The food was great and just the right amount.
