"My book club needed a foodie-related venue to discuss Michael Pollan's "Botany of Desire" and this proved to be the perfect venue. The table was set up to accommodate our group when we arrived and we had ample service and food. The menu selections were perfect for our discussion and were right within budget. Everyone had an enjoyable time."

"We had never been there, and we had a show to catch up the block within the hour. The service was prompt and accommodating and the two vege choices that we made were delicious. The portobellos over rice came in a wonderful pomegranate sauce. The penne was tangy hot. Loved the local brews on tap."

"I love the small town feel of Main St. El Segundo, and the Farm Stand fits right in. We have always been greeted warmly at the door and promptly seated. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The menu is somewhat eclectic with unique combinations but not so much that we can take our teenagers and they find something that appeals to them. The food is organic and non GMO, and everything reasonably priced! We really love this place and plan to keep coming back!"

"If you go for no other reason, go for the pomegranate stew with chicken. The lasagna was disappointing, a little dry. The ground chicken with rice was a nice surprise and I would order it again. Actually, there were so many choices that sounded good, it was hard for us to settle on 3 to share. Food choices with non-GMO food - why can't we eat like this all the time?"

"Was pretty excited about the menu and the food was good but the wait staff messed up just about everything. Food for 4 came out for 2 then the other 2 15 minutes later, ordered some draft beer which took forever to arrive and when it did it was not right - took them 30 minutes to change the keg and still could not get it going to some other beer arrived and I just took it and they kept coming to our table with various salads and entrees which were not for our table.
The place is nice and has a good menu but it is really loud so you have to yell to have a conversation - could use some sound deadening materials or dividers or something.
But it was packed and once the crowd peeled off, it was a bit more enjoyable. Would still recommend it."

"Service was a bit slow. Sat in modified alleyway, which generally could be cool, but was just like sitting in an alleyway. Inside felt like a pizza parlor without the charm. Food was good, but not great. Best part of the evening was the metal plates and olive oil with chili sure for bread."

"I had an amazing lunch at Farm Stand. The Cote-du-rhone blanc paired perfectly with the caramelized brie starter. Topped with pistachios and I think caramelized onions with toasted baguette slices. My main course was the vegetarian pomegranate stew. Huge pieces of portabello mushrooms, zucchini, red peppers and hericote verts with basmati rice. I recommend this place to everyone who lives in El Segundo!"

"We are regulars at Zazou and have always had a great time there. When we heard about their sister restaurant Farmstand, we had to give it a whirl. The menu looked fun, with a very healthy farmers market type menu. We tried the one of the appetizer dips, served with pita bread, and were off to a good start. Two soups were available on the menu. We ordered one, and received the other. Our server then got bumped and spilled the soup. She then placed the spilled bowl on the table, and did not offer to replace it, despite the fact that more than half of the soup had spilled. We had to ask for a new soup. The ground chicken dish was terrific with great sides. The soups boring, and the chocolate mousse amazing (comped... thank you)."

"Food was good. Dessert took a long time and the apple crisp had flavoring that did not appeal to a traditional apple crisp lover. The table we had was by the kitchen where they were rolling table settings and was not the best. All in the party did enjoy their dinners."

"My wife and I were there with another couple. My french dip was barely warm. Another member of the party ordered the special and didn't receive it until the rest of us were nearly done with our meals. We ordered dessert and they forgot one of the dessert orders. Again, the rest of us were nearly done when she got her dessert. To compensate, they gave us one dessert free. The food flavor wasn't bad but the execution was way off."

"I have eaten lunch at the Farm Stand 3 times now. I recommended it for this last outing (early Administrative Assistant celebration) because the food was good and the overall experience in the past was at least 4 Stars. The server was awful. We did not get food for at lease an hour. The order was taken after at least half an hour. Our server left us to wipe down glasses at the bar and to take phone calls. The food was good however, once we got it."

"Service was mediocre. The server seemed disinterested I what she was doing. The spare ribs were fantastic but the pasta dish was bland and almost all pasta, expected a lot more vegetables in the pasta (vegetarian pasta dish with less then a handful of veggies.the restaurant itself was adorable."

"Great food, great service, great ambience. We visited the night we were in the LAX area before a departure the following day for a South American vacation. It was recommended to us by a friend in the LA. A real gem."

"Farm Stand is always a winner with their sumptuous menu that shows you don't have to sacrifice your taste buds to eat healthy. I order the Walnut Pomegranate Stew (with lamb, also available with chicken or portebello) and that plate of goodness filled me up! They accommodated our group of 5 very easily on the back patio, and everyone enjoyed what they had."

"This place is such a find!! The food is fantastic, nice size portions, high-quality ingredients, interesting and tasty menu. The wines are wonderful. Great place to relax and enjoy great food and company. The servers go out of their way to make you feel at home and that you have everything you need. We went on Easter, got free appetizers, one dish came out wrong so they comped our dessert (which was amazing chocolate mousse). I was so impressed with how generous and thoughtful the server was. It was a wonderful night out with my family, and I'm definitely going back. Want to try out so many things on the menu."

"Our server was quite forgetful, and if we were in a hurry our dining experience would have been significantly impacted. But the long waits between courses enabled us to have an enjoyable meal. The food was excellent! The wine and beer list were extensive and offered nice pairings for our dishes. The "Talk of the Town" walnut and pomegranate puree/stew was superb!"

"The food was fantastic. From the homemade hummus to the lamb shank and basmati rice. The service was horrible. Half full, the waitstaff and kitchen were overwhelmed. Will not go back El Segundo, you can keep this "neighborhood gem"."

"Food server was great, however food was so-so. Veggies came out cold for all four of us and main course was ok. Too much cream on the fish and Lamb Chops were fatty.
Nice place, magic act at the table was the highlight of the evening."

"Impressive menu because of the many options for vegan, gluten-free, etc. No full bar, wine list only. My main gripe is that we were seated outside and then told that the heaters were broken by two different people at the restaurant. Then another member of the staff came through and noticed how cold it was and turned on the heaters. It made a huge difference in our level of comfort. Through the conversation between the staff, it became confusing as to why they wouldn't turn on the heaters in the first place. The food was good, but the price of the meal did not seem worth the overall experience."

"Bruschetta was poor --never had this appetizer as a cold piece of bread with a slice of chesse and tomato on it--no grilling, olive oil, etc. Sad. Entrees were good. The highlight was seeing the magician Brian Gillis with his amazing close-up magic. Totally made the evening fun. Come on Tues. nights when he is there and also 1/2 price wines on Tues."

"We've been twice now. Some food is outstanding (the dips, stews, soups, sweet potato fries, fish, and dessert) and some is slightly less wonderful but still very good (red sauce and meatballs). Many favorites (burgers, other pastas) we haven't yet tried and will be back. The service is always fantastic -- very nice people and great pride in their foods/ingredients."

"The waitress was lovely but the appetizers took an exceedingly long time coming out of the kitchen, esp considering it wasn't overly crowded. Maybe that is why they comped a dessert. But everyone at the table was happy with the dining experience & the delicious, high-quality food and wanted to return."

"We really wanted to love this place as we like the idea of having a farm to table restaurant nearby. Unfortunately the food and service was mediocre. The server was very nice but unorganized - forgetting to bring bread and a salad (she blamed it on a mishap in the kitchen). The food had a "messy" presentation which made me want to send my pumpkin ravioli back (I didn't - but should have). The pomegranate stew is VERY SWEET. My husband didn't mind it but I thought it was too sweet. They served a complimentary brownie with ice cream. Brownie was good but the ice cream had a bitter taste to it....ugh!
The menu is interesting and for that we will return and give this restaurant another shot."
