For 30 successful years, Café Pierre has been the benchmark for innovative cuisine and exceptional service in Manhattan Beach, establishing a timeless reputation as the premier dining destination for locals and visitors alike.
"Restaurant has been around for years! I wish that they would go back to where they were a number of years ago vs. trying to compete with MB Post! Their menu has become VERY confusing with even the wait staff not knowing what is a "small" plate vs. a main course. AND....what French bistro/restaurant does not serve escargot is beyond belief (and their excargot was some of the best I have ever had). I would suggest they review their menu, compare to some of their old standards, and get back to an outstanding review."

"On the spur of the moment, we chose Café Pierre for dinner the other night. We were in a bit of a rush, as we had an event later that evening. We dined on the early side, so the restaurant was not crowded. It had been a while since I'd been there, and I was quite impressed with the remodel! The restaurant looked sparkly and suitably fresh. Our waitress was delightful and promised to get us out in time to make our event. She did not disappoint! The food was delicious. I especially loved the octopus small plate - sooooo good! We are definitely going back."

"The food was generally good. But the restaurant charges an outrageous $25 corkage fee. For wine collectors who enjoy bringing a special bottle to a restaurant, beware!"

"The service was among the poorest I've experienced. Waitress not able to handle a table of 8 adults. She took off the bread and butter plates, failed to pour champagne until asked (also didn't see to it that glasses were filled after pouring once, and when two wines were opened, it was pretty much do it yourself.
Entire service was without friendliness."

"We both ordered fish dishes, and they both came out looking appetizing and tasting delicious. Cafe Pierre's wine cellar is quite impressive, but I would like to see the wine list contain more moderately priced options, because every meal does not require an ultra-fine wine."

"Tables packed together like sardines--made it difficult for the server to s-q-u-e-e-z-e between the tables; too close for comfort wrt the chairs behind us, table next to us. Extremely loud and "cold"--ambience NOT warm and cozy. Bar is wonderful! Bar is spacious and set aside from the rest of the room, really nice! My food was good, my husband's was very poor (pulled pork sandwich); our guests hated the ambience. Server was efficient, pleasant. We used to go to this restaurant frequently, but we haven't been there in about 5 years. It has taken a turn for the worse and we will not return, except, perhaps, for a drink at the bar..."

"What a surprise! Way beyond expectations. We were looking for nice dinner and reserved a meal that left our taste buds jumping with joy. The waiter was perfect. He understood that we were not in rush and treated us as though we were his only guests. The menu leaves you breathless. Everything on the menu wants you to order it. The best that you can order the whole menu on small or large plates. Mix and match as they say."

"the noise was unbearable which really almost ruined our evening..the waitress could not hear us when she took our order and she seemed tired and somewhat stressed as the place got busier and noisier.....the saving grace was the food....creative and delicious......never will return on a weekend.....not recommend to anyone who is in the least bit noise sensitive..."

"We make it to LA once a year from San Diego for a weekend of Porsche car events. For the last 5 years my wife and I have have always gone to Cafe Pierre for dinner when here. One of those special places that never disappoints! We will be back next year."

"Cafe Pierre always delivers! They have the best host in the South Bay and a knowledgeable caring wait staff to ensure your dining experience is first class. The menu is large and has something from everyone. The kitchen accommodated our children's request for plain pasta. Our meals were all spectacular. There is not enough space to detail the gourmet delights we were served but it is worth a visit. The only drawback is their $25 corkage fee."

"Cafe Pierre is a Manhattan Beach icon of dining. Many restaurants come and go in this modestly-sized town. Cafe Pierre has thrived by regularly updating and staying current visually while maintaining its core, fine cuisine. I had the arugula salad which was fresh, abundant and delicious followed by the Ahi Crudo, an amazing dish that defies description. The squash ravioli is always yummy, and the wine list is superb. The scene and size is lively enough to feel the fun of being out on the town. Yet, you can hear each other speak comfortably."

"The food and service here were amazing. The only downside is that the tables are very close together and it was very crowded on Saturday night. Otherwise, this is one of the best dining experiences in the South Bay."

"I've been dining at Cafe Pierre for more than 30 years. In all of that time they've redecorated and updated their menus, but the quality and friendliness have never varied. It's still owned by the same people, although the owner's daughter is now managing."
