Living in Newfoundland and Labrador, we’re blessed in having access to some of the best seafood, meat, and produce in the world. Having such a bountiful larder right on our doorsteps means we’re able to adopt a truly sustainable approach to fine dining – sourcing locally-grown ingredients and getting to know independent purveyors. We've made every effort to make dining at Raymonds a unique and rare treat. Visit us at 95 Water Street in the heart of downtown St. John’s. Our dinner menu, prepared by head chef Jeremy Charles, is inspired by rustic Atlantic Canadian cuisine. It features authentic dishes that take advantage of Newfoundland and Labrador’s rich variety of seafood, wild game, berries and vegetables, while also exploring innovative, 'haute cuisine' ingredient combinations and finishes.

"Everything about Raymonds is amazing! The staff are very knowledgeable and welcoming. The atmosphere is very classy and elegant. The food.... well it is out of this world! I have eaten at many fine dining establishments but Raymonds is in a league all of its own. I would highly recommend. Guaranteed to be an awesome night out!"

"My husband and I returned to Raymond's with high expectations... We were not disappointed. We started with cocktails, which were a bit late and ended up overlapping with our appetizers. Later we felt too full, and thought that we would have skipped the cocktails if we knew they would have coincided with our food arrival. The butter poached snow crab pasta was to die for, and we both cleaned our plates completely. The entrees were both interesting, delicious and had fantastic flavour with every bite (tenderloin and fresh halibut ). The desserts were ok, but next time I'll skip them and savour the app and entree only.

"This was my fourth time dining at Raymond's and each time gets better and better. The food was beautifully presented and tasted exquisite as always. But beyond that, the service really sets this place apart. The servers, sommelier, bar tender, etc are all polite, friendly and knowledgable. To top it off, Jeremy Charles himself came out at the end if the night and walked around to each table to talk with diners and thank them for coming. He was gracious and humble. I simply cannot wait to go again. This was a special dinner I had planned for my parents who had never been to a fine dining establishment and they were blown away."

"It is difficult to find words strong enough with which to recommend this restaurant. The service was both friendly and impeccable, the food was a gastronomic delight, and the wines were wonderful. We recommend the seven-course tasting menu with wine pairing; don't let the price put you off, as it is worth every penny. This is undoubtedly the best restaurant in St John's and one of the best meals that we have ever had."

"my husband took me to Raymonds to celebrate my convocation from my masters degree and it was a lovely evening. The food was superb, service was exceptional, atmosphere was a perfect place to end a special day! We didn't expect anything less as we had been there several times before and each time has been equally wonderful. I would highly recommend Raymonds for any occasion but as we have two young kiddies we don't get out much so we will certainly be back as usual for anniversary and Christmas celebrations."

"This was my fourth time at Raymond’s, so I have a frame of reference. We were on time seated quickly, and then it went downhill from there.
For a high end restaurant the service was poor. It took forever to get and drinks ordered, then forever to get it. We went with the 5 course meal with wine pairing, and the time between the courses was ridiculously long ! The Sommelier was uninterested to say the least and seemed to just go through the motions.
I am at a loss to explain as the previous times I have been there it was excellent."

"Overall it was okay.The menu is pricey for the amount of food you receive. Plus it was difficult to decide what to order (very little fish on the menu). They did not have specials for the evening. The dessert menu also did not have a very good selection. If you are a fussy eater I would not recommend this restaurant."

"This is my third time to Raymonds in the past year. I took my wife there for her birthday! We thoroughly enjoyed the whole dining experience! The food was amazing complimented with the fantastic wine pairing! It was a very relaxed atmosphere! We cannot wait till we go there again! There are no other restaurants in st. "The four of us enjoyed the appetizers and main courses. My husband would have preferred more vegetables with his Duck. The three of us who had Duck did not like one of the items on the plate. It is not listed on your menu on line but it was rectangular shape and contained a mixture of shaved compressed meats (I think). We all enjoyed your desserts. We thought your wine list was quite extensive and had no problem choosing what we wanted.The ambiance created a very soothing environment to enjoy a pleasant meal.Thanks,Sharon"

"Although expensive, worth every penny! The ambiance is lovely; the tables are nicely positioned to allow private conversations. The decor is lovely and the table settings are great. Food and specials are well explained and presented. Not pretentious; service is perfect. Extensive wine list or try the wine pairings; reasonably priced and it's like a free lesson in wine pairings. The food is delicious and the servings are substantial. The food combinations are delicious; most items are locally sourced right down to the hand churned butter. Highly recommended especially for a special occasion. And, make sure you have a martini!"

"Outstanding service. our party of 4 were all amazed at how seamless all the staff worked together and obviously communicated behind the scenes to never miss a beat, and be each on top of their own jobs as wine servers, waitress etc. The staff all portrayed confidence and incredible knowledge on all the items on the menu.
The food was delicious. Standard fine dining familiar dishes, so to not scare people away, but with flavorful twists.... that worked!!! Perfectly portioned dishes to accomadate fitting in all 3 courses, served over a relaxing period of time, not rushed but not too long of a wait in between courses.
The atmosphere was perhaps not quite as cozy as I might have expected, but still nice- simple and modern."

"Our experience at this restaurant was excellent. The food from the appetizer to dessert was amazing, incredible flavors and not the "same old thing" you find in some restaurants. Portions were a perfect size and the staff were there if you needed something but were not pushy or overbearing. Have already recommended to others!Compared to other high end restaurants in the area it is at the top for pricing, but I would pay the extra again to get such a great meal. Great to see something different on the food scene for St. john's. You could tell the chef prepared each plate with care and attention to detail. In this case you do get what you pay for and it was great!"
