"On recommendation we visited 22 Bowen for a graduation celebration. Although our evening had several problems the staff handled everything professionally and exceeded my expectations. Management of the restaurant worked very hard to solve the problems and showed they would like to have me return to the restaurant again. We had a opportunity to experience the appetizers, main course and deserts and all were excellent and worth the time. When we visit Newport we will definitely return to 22 Bowens."

"We had dinner early on a Saturday night. The service was excellent and the food was good, but when you look at the bill for what you receive overall the menu is overpriced. I ordered the dry-aged Delmonico special medium rare - it came out rare. Otherwise it was a good meal, but you are paying a 5-star price for a 4-star restaurant."

"Food was ok. Waited over 10 minutes with a reservation, so why make a reservation?
The hostess had the personality of a mortician (killing my appetite !)
Noise level was above and beyond. There was no way to talk across the table unless you yelled.
The side dishes come in portions for 2 people ( no where was that indicated or told to us).
So we each ordered a side dish and were quite surprised at the portions.
Overall dining experience was bad and I would never recommend to anyone."

"My husband and I had a weekend in Newport and really wanted to eat at 22 Bowen Service was great, but they ran out of specials, my lobster was overcooked which I paid a pretty penny for and the one dessert we wanted they did not have. In fact we should have complained because out of 4 people our bill came to about 400.00. I am very disappointed and upset. Will not go there again."

"I was VERY disappointed in the stuffing used in the lobster. I have had much better. It was very expensive, and for the most part, it was breadcrumbs with little seafood . Only other negative was the size of the piece of salmon. It was delicious, but should have been a little bigger. Everything else was exceptional...especially the service!"

"We've been coming to Newport for over 18 years and we've eaten in a variety of places and 22 Bowen's Wine & Bar Grille is our favorite place for a romantic dinner. It has a great feel with many different rooms and areas. They are currently expanding their outdoor seating. The restaurant is located on the water in a fun area of Newport. The food is always great and consistent. The service is very professional and engaging."

"22 Bowens had great food and service. Came here for my fiancé's birthday dinner. We got a buffalo crab cake to start, the clambake and the shrimp linguine with truffle lobster mac & cheese for entrees, and the creme brûlée plus butterscotch banana bread for dessert. Everything was over the top delicious. Our server was so friendly and very knowledgeable with the menu. The beer list was surprisingly extensive (we were expecting a good wine list already). Only thing was that the outdoor seating was under construction so the view from our seats wasn't what we expected. We didn't feel rushed and had a wonderful time. I'd definitely come back or recommend to anybody I knew who would be in Newport."

"Our kids gave us the gift certificate for anniversary and it was busy, fun, noisy in the bar but quiet at the table. Enjoyed it very much. Like all steak houses, it was expensive. "My boyfriend and I went to the restaurant on April 20th for dinner. It was a suprise for his birthday that I had put together for him. When we got there we were shocked on how quickly we were seated even though we had a reservation for 7:30pm and how friendly the host was and how clean the place in general was. We started with some cocktails and they were great. We had started with two ceasar salads and they were even better. The croutons were amazing. My boyfriend got the 24oz aged porterhouse and I got the 14oz sirlion, each were cooked fabulously. A surprise cheesecake dessert was also given to my boyfriend with a candle. We will be going back soon. The prices were perfect, the food was great and the service was exceptional."

"We chose this restaurant because when I called I was promised that we could have duck. The host checked with chef and said it was no problem. "My husband and I went to this restaurant for Easter dinner, and we were very impressed. We called to say that we were running late for our reservation, and the staff was very accomodating and polite. The service was excellent, and my husband said it was the best fillet mignon he has ever eaten. He is still talking about it! We will definitely be making a drive to 22 Bowens again over the summer."

They just reopened after renovations and did not yet have their full compliment of dry-aged steaks available which was a little dissappointing. Settled on lobster and a fillet. Was better than average, but not the outstanding that I have come to expect from 22 Bowens. The service however was excellent and our waitress Sarah was very engaging and made sure evrything was taken care of to our liking."

"Just a wonderful evening. The entire staff was attentive, especially our waiter, Johnathan. The food was very good, as well. A little pricey, but perfect for a special occaision."
