Dominic's Trattoria, Clayton
The food at Dominic's Trattoria in Clayton is the quintessence of what a "trattoria" is all about: authentic Italian regional dishes prepared with care; attention to details; and moderate prices. There is a nice wine list with a wide range of choices. Specialties include lobster ravioli, osso buco, risotto con pesce, fresh fish and other delectable Italian creations. Open for lunch on weekdays, and for dinner Monday through Saturday. Attire is stylish casual. Valet parking is available in the evenings.
Dominic’s Trattoria offers two private dining rooms:
The La Veranda Room, with its Hand painted Italian murals, accomodates up to 30 guests and features a 42 inch flatscreen, perfect for your next business meeting.
The Mark McGwire room can accommodate up to 14 guests and both rooms have a wonderful view of Shaw Park in Clayton; perfect for your special occasion.

"the entree that I selected was the special risoto of the day, scallops and shimp, I managed several bites, the meal tasted extremely fishy. My wife chose the lobster ravioli in a cream sauce, the cream sauce was not creamy but was thick and almost a tomato paste. My son chose a veal chop, one of his favorites to order out at Italian restaurants, it was marginally acceptable.

"The location makes it difficult to park without valet; yet another cost. The restaurant itself is pleasant enough, but it's very open and doesn't provide much privacy; i.e., noisey. The staff are very polite and the service was without fault. The food was just mediocre. I had pan fried veal and it was dry and flavorless; price to value pretty low. I've dined at the downtown location, which seemed superior."

"A window table view of Shaw Park added to our Italian meal at Dominic's Trattoria. Owners were wandering around and seemed genuinely pleased we'd made the effort to go out to eat on the eve of the big snowstorm. Menu offered many choices of mostly Southern Italian cooking. The prices and portions were very reasonable."

"I was shocked when my $30 fish special arrived with canned mushrooms on it. Overall, the food was mediocre. There is much better to be had in the city. The service was marginal. We had to look around for our server to get a check. The restaurant was not crowded. And when I tried to hand my coat check to the host, he told me I could it over to the coat check closet myself. Not impressed."

"I took a friend for a birthday dinner and this was her choice of restaurants. We have been there a number of times with her husband and food is always delicious and service impeccable. The bar always serves a great drink and the birthday girl got a special dessert too. Never a disappointment at DT no matter what our selection."
