"The steaks were excellent, and the salads and appetizer were enjoyable. Very good quality of ingredients. The side dish that we ordered was delicious; though not quite as large as it was described, it was still more than sufficient for the two of us to share and be satisfied. Service was great, and our server in particular was very helpful with suggestions for our order. Only complaint would be the noise level. Maybe we were just there on a particularly loud night, but with live music coming from the lounge and recorded music playing in the dining room, as well as the proximity to other tables, at times it was difficult to carry on a conversation without feeling like we were shouting."

"I brought my mother to Sullivan's for Mother's Day and we had an exceptional time, it was worth her trip from Va and worth every single bite we took. I'm looking forward to my next visit to Sullivan's.
Though we arrived an hour before closing, the staff treated us like we were there at 3pm, love it.

"As most of you know this is an expensive restaurant. I would think that with the prices they charge at Sullivan's that there wouldn't be a problem with their food. Boy was I wrong. My steak was way overcooked. The interval between courses was way too long. The side dishes were blah. Oh, and they forgot to return my doggie bag to the table. I just wasn't impressed with anything about this place. I will never go there again."

"Disappointing...Wish I had went w/ my instincts & gone to Ruth's Chris which has never failed me. I signed up under a promo to get a $25 voucher off future dining, which I was NOT given. One of my reasons for going to Sullivan's was for Creme Brulee. I ordered it and the waiter come back later to tell me they didn't have any (apparently it did not set appropriately). So, I was disappointed to say the least and I didn't want anything else for dessert. Then when we got the bill the creme brulee was still on the bill. That left a damper on my entire Mother's Day meal...not only did I not get the dessert I ordered, but then they are going to try and charge me for it? So, coupled with not getting the voucher, Sullivan's has lost my business."

"This was our first visit and will be our last. Granted it was Mother's Day, but we felt like sardines in a can. It was obvious they added tables to get more people in. We had 8 people and I could not hear the conversation at the other end of the table

"Celebrating college graduation. Sullivan's opened earlier than their usual Saturday hours. We enjoyed the food, the service and the entire meal could not have been better. Most of our party ordered the 3-course and "upgraded" our steaks to fillets. Portions were generous for all three courses. The fillets were incredible; the salmon ordered by others was said to be the best they have tasted. We ordered a "to go" slice of cheesecake. Had we known how delicious it would be, we would have saved room for each of us to have a slice for dessert! Our gratitude to Sullivan's management for being so prepared for this busy weekend (college graduations and Mother's Day). The professional wait staff was incredible!"

"I used open table to make the reservation and added a request to have a corner table so our group could talk privately. They honored that request and the waitress acknowledged that need and told me to shoo her away as needed. "not as romantic as I had remembered. The table seemed much closer than before and a large table of people was too close to our booth. the waiters practically sat in my spouses lap every time they tried to pass because of the overseated table. the waiter did not check back very often. "It was obvious that they were trying to bring out food in order from apps to entrees. Their timing is not good and by the time we received our steak entree the plate itself was so hot you couldn't touch it and the food was microwave hot. Steaks were over cooked and all the flavor was nuked out temperature was too hot for a medium steak. If you're going to pay 100 plus dollars on a dinner for two, you don't want microwaved food. We could have gone to outback and had it served right off the grill as steaks are intended. They also didnt honor my simple request for a table for two so I could propose to my girlfriend, made reservations a month in advance. We were seated at a half booth/couch/ bench like table that could sit 4 people. :/"

"We enjoyed our dinner. Had asked for a quiet booth for a birthday celebration and we were seated steps from the bar area and John was blinded by the sunshine coming from the street windows for several minutes which was shrugged off when pointed out. The calamari was very good. The steaks were proper cuts but the salt became more evident with each bit. By the time you finished the steak it was almost unpleasant. This was pointed out to the floor manager/serving staff manager. Will come again but only with a different experience."

"Absolutely Wonderful! This was our first time here and we were blown away! Food was super good! The scallops with couscous absolutely delicious! And I am so thankful our waiter recommended the cheese steak egg rolls as a appetizer, we were hesitant to get them but let me tell you those are the best things I have ever tasted, I HIGHLY recommend them you will Not be disappointed!! We will definitely be coming back :)"

"Perfect place for a birthday celebration! From the minute we walked in the door, we felt the energy of a successful restaurant.
Our waitress was efficient and welcoming, food was perfectly prepared and delivered at a comfortable pace .. Raleigh has a ton of great restaurants, but for a special occasion and terrific food and wine, book this place and you will not be disappointed."

"The food was good, though completely over priced for the quality. We were given a very new waitress (let"s just say Sullivan' objectifies women) who did a deplorable job and neither her "trainer" nor the management helped her out. I will NOT recommend or return. Sorry, first negative review I have ever written."

"I am enjoying Sullivan's more since they do so many specials like a prix fixe menu that is a much better portion for a "normal" dinner (and even then it's a lot) But - the food is great. Solid, dependable, great servers. My steak is always cooked appropriately to my requested rare, and hubby get's it "Pittsburgh" style and they get how to do it. Great for special occasions - but keep an eye out for the specials - makes it much nicer to treat yourself on a weeknight!"

"My wife and I went to Sullivans for our wedding anniversary. Our experience was just ok. The food was just ok. The restaurant is very nice, but it was so noisy, that we couldn't even hear our server. After tip, the bill was $155 for a mediocre experience. Not worth it and I couldn't recommend it in good conscience. Basic food summary :

Stone Crab - Satisfactory
Ribeye - Ok. Ordered medium, came well done. Prepared a new steak for me quickly
Mac & Cheese - Unsatisfactory
