Tucked into an original 1940's wine country cottage located just minutes from downtown Sonoma and a scenic drive from Napa, the Glen Ellen Inn features delicious French & Italian inspired cuisine all day long! House baked breads, House made pasta, lovely salads, light appetizers, fire grilled chicken, steaks, burgers, chops and seafood are sure to satisfy any appetite! And why not make a night of it-stay overnight in the adjacent Glen Ellen Inn Secret Cottages.
The All Day Menu is offered from 11:30 am to 9 pm; Wednesdays 5 pm to 9 pm.

"This restaurant is easy to miss, but is worth finding it (note, park on Warm Springs Road, parking lot on the back side and enter via the stairs. Excellent service, very prompt service. Nice spacing between tables so it's not cramped. The outside patio is lovely too and private; great for a party on a nice day! Worth going a little out of the way for in the little town of Glen Ellen, between Santa Rosa and Sonoma."

"I'm sorry to have to write this but, our dinner was not up to par . Baked oyster dish came out not warm -sent back. Flank Steak dish was supposed to have Chimichurri sauce with it. It was not ! It was some made up thing with chipotle peppers not close to what it is supposed to be - sent that back to be redone without sauce . when it came back it was even less appealing! And I don't think that the fries were even redone. Could have been an off night but, they may also be losing their edge..."

"Got there very early for our reservation, was going to have a drink at the bar in the meantime.........got the impression they did not want us sitting at the small but very nice bar.......they sat us at our table instead. But everything from there was fantastic. The waiter, an older Polish gentlemen was incredible, the food presentation and quality was great. The ambience and the prices were great as well. Can't wait to go back."

"The food was great, my friend and husband had the New York that was on special and our other friend had the cioppino which he was raving it was awesome! I had the salmon and it was cooked perfectly. The service was wonderful. Our waiter was so attentive and entertaining that we wanted to take him home with us. The place is quaint an you can eat inside or out. We sat in a booth inside because it was a little cold out but either would be nice. I would definitely reccomend everyone to go there. Their desserts were so pretty I had to take pictures of them. They tastes as amazing as they looked!"

excellent choice of food, Great flavor (steak was too greasy,though). Good Service.
only reason it didn't get full stars, the server "accidentally" charged us an extra $100 tip even though the receipt said 18% (almost 40%). Ya, an extra $100 was placed. I find that hard to believe, esp when the charge was not questioned and the $100 cash was immediately placed into our hands.
LUckily, we know our math and the price placed (by them) was NOT 18% of our total.

"Our group had a fabulous lunch overall. We ate lightly so we could enjoy the fantastic desserts. The vanilla ice cream with coconut and caramel was to die for. Probably the best dessert I've ever had. It was served with a corkscrew of spun sugar--a lovely presentation. Service was wonderful, the room was charming--all in all just a lovely place.
The only thing I found a little lacking was the poached pear, which was nicely spiced but harder than I expected."

"We have eaten many times at the Glen Ellen Inn Restaurant, and they seem to always impress me. The food is so beautiful you almost don't want to eat it! It's one of those special places off the beaten path that not everyone knows about... "The very large list of martinis and the fresh oysters are the lure as the name suggests but the mussels appetizer we had was excellent. It was the best mussels dish I've had in some time, incorporating and excellent sauce and pancetta in addition to toast crisps to enjoy all of the above.
The service was enthusiastic and helpful and the ambiance was tasteful country inn, marked down just a bit because the rooms are small and therefor a bit cluttered.
Definitely recommend for lunch, cocktail hour or dinner if you want to get out of the town of Sonoma to mix things up."

"Service was good with an amazing wine and martini list. While the apps and salads were great, our main dishes left something to be desired. After such a great start we really expected our entrees to shine but they were a bit of a let down. I had the artichoke and gorgonzola raviolis upon recommendation from our waiter, which were tasty but the sauce just didn't fit. My husband had fish tacos which were fine, but they were NOT as good as his french onion soup or any of the salads. Garlic fries and calamari were delicious and all the desserts were spot on. Overall, great fun to celebrate my birthday but entrees were just ok."

"I made a reservation on the 12th of this month for a dinner party for four on the 16th. I mentioned in my e-mail that we were bringing friends from the East Bay and were really looking forward to the evening. The person at the podium seemed surprised when I said we had a reservation. This was for 7 pm. A server took us to a table in the front room that is very casual and seems appropriate for families. Obviously most tables were full. We were placed in another room where we squeezed into a small table. One person had to sit in a chair where waiters walked back & forth. I thought making the reservation in advance would give us a better table."

"Having left Sonoma County three years ago, it was delightful to get back to the Glen Ellen Inn. The menu has a varied selection for a vegetarian and her two carnivore friends. Our server attended to our every need from wine through desserts. Every bite was perfect so we shared. Our dinner proved "you can go back" and be thrilled with the exquisite meal."

"Very cute little spot with delicious, reasonably priced food. Very tasty coconut rice with the shrimp. Service was good. We were a little late and they put us in the less formal addition, which is not nearly as nice as the rest of the restaurant. Diners there had kids and were noisier than in the older sections."
