"Robert's is one of the finest resaturants I have ever eaten at. I have been enjoying this restaurant for over 30 years and there is no place like it that I know of. It is to bad Robert will be retiring shortly as his singing during the meal makes it an extrodinary dining experience."

Review 4 for Robert's of Charleston

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"This is an old school culinary experience of the highest quality. Others can go with the superficial fluff, but if you are interested in first rate food with flawless preparation, a respectful, and discreet atmosphere, Robert's is the place. It's closing will be a great loss to the Charleston food scene. One has to wonder if the younger crowd even has a clue to the value of this establishment and class of service that will be lost in its closing."

Review 5 for Robert's of Charleston

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"The food and the music are excellent--of the highest quality--well worth the hefty price (and 9% tax). Each course was just perfect in taste, presentation, quantity, and variety. It is a memorable dining experience. It's a shame this tradition has only 3 1/2 months left before Robert retires."

Review 15 for Robert's of Charleston

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"We've been to numerous fine restuarants around the Charleston area, this was our first time dining at Robert's of Charleston. I have to say Robert's of Charleston was the best dining experiences we've encountered since moving to South Carolina. The ambiance was wonderful, profession staff, wonderful music, and the food was out of this world!

Thanks Robert for the wonderful evening.

Review 19 for Robert's of Charleston

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"The food and wine was superb, presentation fabulous. Robert has a magnificent singing voice, he sang between all courses and during some. Personally sang to anyone celebrating a birthday or anniversary. It was a very memorable evening. It was a dining event rather than just dinner out. Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"This was truly one of the best dining experiences that we have ever had. We have traveled extensively throughout Europe and I can honestly say that this was absolutely one of my favorite dinners ever. Robert has an amazing voice that just makes you feel like he is singing to you. The food was excellent! Every course was a treat for the palate. I would give anything for the recipe for their benne wafers! The staff was polite and courteous in all ways and made our anniversary a night that we will never forget!"

Review 22 for Robert's of Charleston

Overall Rating 4.0 out of 5 (Very Good)
"We have always enjoyed going to Roberts, but this time was disappointing. There was a group of 8 that was very loud & rude. They were so loud you could not hear the piano player & they even talked through Robert's performances! I think that Robert should have asked them to restrain themselves! It ruined our whole evening. We had a difficult time talking to each other as you could not hear over these loudmouths!"

"Robert's is a Charleston staple over the years and we were surprised t be able to get a reservation on such a short notice. Review 34 for Robert's of Charleston

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"What a truly wonderful evening. I love great food and dining, and Robert's of Charleston matches outstanding dining experiences I have had in many European countries to include Germany, Italy, England, France, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Hungry, Yugoslavia, Greece, Turkey, plus Egypt, Kenya, & Honk Kong. I had great expectations based on comments by friends and colleagues who had eaten at Robert's of Charleston, and those expectations were even exceeded. The seating arranging, which seemed a little tight at first glance, turned out to be superb because it afforded my wife and me to share our dining experience with the wonderful couple sitting next to us. In addition, the food was exquisite and the wine was outstanding and plentiful."

Review 42 for Robert's of Charleston

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"It is truely an experience to dine at Roberts. I had not been there in 25 years, and the ambience was the same. I do remember many more varities of wine offered years ago. This time it was only 2 wines. One red, and one white. It was just perfect. Unfortunately, Robert is retiring in May and will not be there anymore. That was sad to hear. A truely touching moment was a tribute to one of the guests who was home from Afganifstan. Robert sang "God Bless America:"

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"Robert's is extraordinary and has been so for decades. Losing this dining gem will leave a tremendous hole in the heart of Charleston Dining. It has been a great run......fantastic food, engaging entertainment and superb service.

Long live the memories of Robert's of Charleston.

Review 45 for Robert's of Charleston

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"One of the best restaurants I have been, too. The quient little restaurant was perfect for any occasion. The staff seemed to bend over backwards to make our night there perfect. Though the food is pre-set, I can't imagine a better combination of food and wine. Of course, the entertaining Robert himself should not go without mention either. What a wonderful gentleman."

Review 46 for Robert's of Charleston

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"The evening was absolutely delightful starting with the romantic decor. The food was devine especially the chateaubriand. The service was impeccable with quiet, attentive staff. Robert's singing was amazing and created the right atmosphere. He is so wonderful after all these years starting in the Rainbow Market. We plan to eat there one more time during the Christmas holidays and we will definately miss him when he retires."

Review 47 for Robert's of Charleston

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"This is a gem among restaurants. It was a delightful evening and worth every penny! The food was prepared beautifully with all five courses and the length of time between the courses was perfect - while Chef Robert sang and chatted with the diners. We were there about three hours and enjoyed every minute. Hurry and go before Chef Robert retires!"
