"The ON20 staff make you feel important from the minute you step through the doors to the minute you leave. No request is too trivial. The cuisine is second to none. Executive Chief Jeffrey Lisotte is so down to earth, when he talks to you, he talks to you not down to you. Chief Lisotte and the entire staff of ON20 want to surpass all your dining expectations. ON20's final product shows what attention to detail can produce. I would like to thank the whole staff of ON20 for making Morher's Day a memorable Ocassion. My Mother is already asking me when are we going back to ON20."

"I have worked in the office building where On20 is located for over 22 years, and have had the privilege of dining there on multiple occasions. My daughter had a special birthday celebration planned with the family and there was never a hesitation on my part with On20 knowing that they would make this an incredible experience for our family. From the service to the food to the view, this is truly a gem in Hartford, and quite possibly all of New England."

"Restaurant could use some minor updating. Appetizers were impressive (we had the octopus and chowder), but both entrees fell flat. Flavor combinations seemed slightly confused, and one dish, the lamb, was moderately overlooked (on the medium side vice the usual medium rare). The service was extremely attentive, albeit bordering on oppressive. While I appreciate being taken care of, this restaurant takes it to a new level, and I am not sure it is my preference. Of course, many likely prefer their approach to service, but the staff seemed extremely on edge. The dessert (Vietnamese spice cake) was the highlight of the meal. It was an unforgettable dish. All in all, we would recommend this restaurant, but probably won't be returning."

"Great place. The food was exquisite, the view at night is awesome, the staff was extremely friendly and professional, and the tables are all situated so you feel like you're really having a private dining experience. Would love to go back soon and try more things on the menu.
A couple of things I would have liked to know before hand but didn't change my experience...
1) when the server asked for my parking garage ticket there was a line added to the bill for parking when I looked it over. It was convenient and I think the rate was discounted but it would have been nice to know.
2) a service charge of about 18% was added to the bill for my party of 2. No line on the check for a tip."

"By far the best swordfish I have ever had. I had all but given up on swordfish. It was cooked with 1/4 inch white all around and the center to just on the cusp between translucent and white. This left the meat more tender than I have ever had previously."

"My husband received a gift card for ON20 as a retirement present. We had a wonderful dinner. The food and the service were superb. The view was spectacular. Everything was perfect. "The service was 5-star! The food was beautifully prepared and expertly arranged. I had the house red wine and I was impressed with the selection! The food, although elegantly prepared may not win you over (it IS good, but with the service and the atmosphere being excellent, good just does not cut it). Priced high, but the entire/overall experience says it is worth it. Will I return? I am sure I will, but it will be in most part due to the excellent service and relaxing atmosphere more than the food. When I do return, I hope that I am not disappointed, but rather, that I am pleasantly surprised by the Artist and Chef."

"When my husband and I arrived for our reservation we were greeted and seated promptly and courteously and our drink order was taken quickly. View of city was stunning. As we waited for our drinks it was very noticable that the manager, who was waiting on tables, was acting very nervous, racing around the restaraunt and making dramatic hand gestures to the staff. To me this had a negative impact on an otherwise relaxed atmosphere. We waited for some time for menus to be brought and nobody took time to talk about the menu or ask if we had any questions. Food was an overall disapoinment and not as described on the menu. Fluke was way too salty and kale salad had very few ingredients besides kale. Nobody checked with us to ask about our meals."

"I have been to On20 before for business lunches and it was outstanding for that purpose. In this instance I was taking my spouse to dinner and eating dinner there for the first time. I requested that the resturant have roses for the table so that it could be a special evening. The resturant called and confirmed the flowers and when we arrived they were on the table, prepped and waiting. The pre-dinner contact was first rate and seamless. Dinner was wonderful. The menu was a great mix of adventure, fun and comfort with the right amount of style to make it special. The wine list was fantastic and there were many choices served by the glass. The taste was pitch perfect and the service attentive but not intrusive. It was well worth the money."

"What a great evening. We were treated like royalty! From the moment we stepped foot into On20, everyone was there to make sure we had an enjoyable evening. Our seat at the window had a great view of the river. In asking about menu items, they were all described with such effusion that you wanted to try them all. We share the octopus, great. My daughter had the beef, which she thoroughly enjoyed. I had the fluke, so delicious I can't even describe it to you. For dessert we shared something that was really good except for the green tea ice cream with it, a bit off on flavor and didn't really go with the rest of the very tasty offering. Would recommend this place to anyone and would go back if in Hartford."

"We have mixed feelings about On20. First the positive---the main courses were excellent.The short ribs were the best i ever experienced. the waiters were very attentive. However the view which we understood was breathtaking----was NOT. Basically the view is of the east side of Hartford---at least when i could catch a glimpse of it The tables were notsituated in such a way where one could even know there was a view. The atmosphere reminded me of a hotel function room. We ordered dessert and are still trying to figure out what we ate.TOOOO weird for me and i am someone who loved the'nouvelle cuisine' of the eighties. Whenwe asked for the bill,our waitress brought us the wrong bill twice---they did give me my cocktail free of charge---"

"The service, the view, the ambience, and the wine list were outstanding. The food left a bit to be desired. The presentation was incredible. Everything was beautiful. But the preparation was lacking a bit. For example, my Fluke was overcooked and my wife's poached salmon was lacking some seasoning. It was described as being infused with herbs through the poaching process but neither of us detected any subtleties in the taste. Maybe the poultry or beef may are the kitchen's reale forte. Fish can be tricky.
The view really is something to see. If it's a special night, check it out. Your partner will be blown away by the ambience and the view"

"This could have been a great experience, but our waitress treated us differently from other tables. It was our first time there and we decided we wanted to order entrees and dessert (and a glass of wine). When an extra appetizer appeared, she merely described it as a "root vegetable parfait" instead of at least identifying the vegetables, while with other tables, she went into much more detailed descriptions about the plates they were served. She treated the dessert in the same way for us. While polite, we felt her service was only adequate, especially compared to the service she gave other tables (from what we could tell, the maitre'd for that section behaved similarly toward the 'regulars'). She definitely did not warrant the 20% tip."

"I have been to ON20 a few times. Each and every single time I am blown away. This is what going out to eat is all about. The food is outstanding. It is leagues ahead of anything anyone in the area is trying to do. Each dish is a piece of art. Taste is nothing you have worry about here, they make sure each course finds a way to stimulate all your senses. The service is impeccable, friendly and completely accommodating. Time restraints, food allergies, doesn't matter as a staff they get it. Everyone that works there is striving to be better at what they do. They are aware they are part if this great experience they are providing. I could go on. The view. The wine. The desserts. Even if you are not a sweet person, get one."

"What a gem of a restaurant. It is a very special place (it only serves dinner on Friday most of the year - I believe holiday season it is open more evenings). Simply put: one of the best restaurants in Connecticut or anywhere else in country. All aspects are just superb; this is a very special place with staff that represents the absolute best in service. Great food; great service; great view (20th floor, with panoramic views of Hartford and the Connecticut River); now "cheap", but with all the wine and drinks we had, it came to about $100 per person including tax and tip. They automatically add a 20% gratuity and they are worth every penny of it and more. This was our third trip here."
