Kai - Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort
Recipient of the Coveted AAA Five Diamond Award and Forbes Five-Star Award, KAI, meaning 'seed' in the Pima language, features a menu rich in creativity, history and Native American culture. Executive Chef Conor Favre and Chef de Cuisine Joshua Johnson incorporate the essence of the Pima and Maricopa tribes and locally farmed ingredients from the Gila River Indian Community to create unforgettable masterpieces. James Beard Award-winning Chef Janos Wilder is consulting chef for KAI and is renowned for creating unique and indigenous menu experiences. Open for dinner Tuesday - Saturday, reservations are strongly recommended. KAI maintains a smart business casual dress code. It prohibits hats, T-shirts, and shorts for both ladies and gentlemen, including open-toed sandals for men. Dress hats for ladies are acceptable. Denim is not preferred. As a courtesy to other diners, please refrain from using cell phones or laptops in the dining room.

"Our 25th Anniversary was quite special because we chose such a unique place! Efficient, exquisite food and attentive service made it a wonderful restaurant for a special occasion!
Our only downfall was that we had wanted a driver to pick us up and take us home through their driving service. That was very disorganized, so we could not use this service."

"Best restaurant in the Phoenix area. The food is unusual but also absolutely delicious. The service is attentive without being intrusive. The ambience is relaxing and excellent. Everything about this restaurant is outstanding but it is expensive. This is definitely a special occasion restaurant. After dinner my car was waiting for us with bottled water and chocolates for the drive home."

"I have been trying to get into Kai for about a year. Have heard so many good things about this establishment and they were all true! The staff and food were out of this world. "I have had a chance to dine at some of the finest restaurants around the USA. Kai ranks as number one for me and is in fact, light years ahead of anything else I have ever tasted and experienced. An unbelievable dining experience. Highly recommend "the journey" as it gives the diner an opportunity to experience flavors and presentations unlike any before. "This was my 2nd time there and they didn't disappoint me. I enjoyed their setting, their stories from paitings on the menu and on the walls etc. They pay attention to details from table setting, to services and to afterward "send-a-way". "There is a reason Kai is five star five diamond restaurant. We experienced amazing service during our journey coursed meal. The food was diverse, fresh and each course was outstanding. The wine pairings were perfect and the overall wine list is the best in the entire valley. If Kai was in Scottsdale you would wait months for a table but since it is off the beaten path it is not an impossible task to get a table so take advantage of a dining experience unlike any other in this city. WOW"

"We had several friends tell us how good this place was. And usually you get your hopes up and are then disappointed. Not here exceeded expectation. Taste was awesome and presentation was truly spectacular. Amazing service. Will be back....often. And surprisingly it wasn't that expensive. We have dined at other highly rated restaurants in other cities and to be honest the food here was better and we spent less. With wine we spent over $100 a person, but for a meal like this completely worth it!"

"This was our second visit to Kai and it was just as good as the first, which was amazing. The facility is beautiful and peaceful, the staff courteous, efficient and helpful. As for the food, it was impeccable. The creativity of the chef shines in each dish and the taste must be experienced to be believed. The only downside is that we were seated in the wine room. While no doubt a great place with a larger group, my husband and I felt completely shut off from the entire dining experience. Additionally, when we needed an fork we had to wait until someone came in to the wine room to ask, versus being in the dining room and signaling a waiter for assistance. Also, all of the wines served in the restaurant came from the wine room, thus there was a lot of in and out to get the wine which was intrusive."

"From the time we were greeted with small flutes of chilled fruit juices, we knew we were in for an experience of a life-time! We began with delicious and imaginative cocktails (my favorite was "Skocu Thu") followed by a small complimentary Dungeness crab starter. The Souse Vide Roots salad was one of the tastiest and most beautifully presented dishes I've ever had, proceeded by the grilled buffalo tenderloin entree - tender and cooked to perfection. Although the quality of the food and it's preparation are the raison d'être at Kai, the service and attention to detail cannot be surpassed. The drapes were pulled precisely at sunset, giving us a spectacular view of the mountains. Breathtaking! We are already planning our next visit."

"Great and unique menu. The special "multi course" meals are a great experience but expect to b there a while. This is not a eat n leave place. Its meant to b enjoyed as an overall experience and they excel at doing just that. With that being said it has high end food that comes with high end pricing. But, if your one who loves food and the experience then its an awesome restaurant. Highly recommend you go there at least once in your life."

"Kai was the perfect setting for a romantic getaway. We loved how well the culture was interwoven throughout the whole evening. Our servers' were extremely helpful with sharing the background and history of the restaurant and the surrounding area. We were mesmerized by the view and delighted when we noticed the spectacular sunset that evening. And the food was incredible. From "the Birth" all the way to dessert, we were reveling in every bite. From the location, to the service, to the food, Kai leaves you with such an amazing experience that you definitely shouldn't miss enjoying."

"We truly enjoyed our dinner experience at Kai. We started with cocktails, the Kai Mojito is outstanding! You have to try the breads, all of them are so good. The appetizers were delicious, they were the highlight of the meal. I got the duck and foie gras, the portion was perfect, the presentation as well. I got the spanish Turbot as a main course, I was a bit disappointed. The fish itself was of great quality, but, it did not go well with the tomato sauce that came with it. The other member of my party was also not impressed with the entree. I must say that eating at Kai is quite an experience, the staff and service IS exceptional!"

"I have heard raving reviews on Kai for several years, and finally dined there recently to celebrate our anniversary. The experience greatly exceeded our expectations. "Exceptional! Innovative cuisine! Our head waiter, Jeremy, took the time introducing our courses, very knowledgeable! The team was very understanding of our irregularities as one of our guests, also a physician, was attending to a number of critical calls.

"I have been to many fine restaurants but Kai stood out as a truly unique and wonderful experience, from the delicious food to the impeccable service to the attention to detail. I had wanted to go to Kai for a long time and it was definitely worth the wait. The icing on the cake was when we got our car at the valet, and water, chocolate and a note were waiting for us. Thanks to the staff and chefs for a wonderful experience."

"My wife and I have been going to Kai every year. It was our Valentine's Day dinner but now that we are married, we switched the day on over to our anniversary. It is a great place for any occasion and the food is always unique and so good. We have tried so many different types of food here and not one time have we disliked anything. To top it off, the cocktails are spot on."
