"The food was great! The only weird part was at the beginning we had about 3 different waiters come up to us asking what we wanted to drink or eat like they were fighting for our table and we just sat down so it was a little overwhelming but once we got our waiter he was great, came up to us a lot but still nice. I had the special which was the pistachio crusted halibut and my boyfriend had the osobucco which were both amazing. the caprese was a great appetizer! tasted like the mozzarella was made fresh that day! so good!"

"Excellent food preparation, nice size portions, seafood is the dish to go with. Salads are large and easily split if you're a light eater. It can get expensive if you're not watching the menu. Ultra modern setting with a gimicky wine attrivale tower like in Vegas. Recommend upstairs dining if you want to have a conversation at dinner. Can get noisy with the bar in the middles of the dining room. Would go back to."

"I was very disappointed. The reviews I had read glowed about Osetra. The food was only mediocre and the wait staff was terrible. I thought it was overpriced for what you got. I have been to better places with wine and seafood even in the Midwest where I am from originally. I would not make a special trip. It was very loud and exceptionally dark, take a flashlight to read the menu as the table next to me did."

"My wife and I (both in our early 30's) went here for a date night. Our meal came out to around $125 for the both of us. We started with the calamari/shrimp appetizer and shared a bowl of lobster bisque...both of which were amazing! I was hesitant about the caviar in the bisque 'cause I'd never tried caviar before, but don't let it scare you off...it really just didn't taste like anything at all. For our main course, I got the filet and she got the mahi mahi...again, both delicious! Steak was cooked perfectly and my wife loved the fish. We were stuffed and didn't have room for dessert, so can't speak to that. All-around great meal though. Recommend sitting outside if the weather is nice. Great people-watching!"

"We were staying at the WYNDHAM HOTEL in downtown and was looking for something romantic and not too far within walking distance.. I saw this restaurant across the street from where we were staying and thought we would give it a try!! Happy Hour is offered on Friday/Saturday between the hours of 9pm-12am at the bar only. This does not seem to be advertised a lot, but we happened to visit their site before going. My boyfriend ordered the filet mignon which was exceptional tasty. I fell in LOVE with the Black Mussels & Manila Clams. Something about the coconut milk & yellow curry sauce which kept me wanting more. I also Enjoyed the Live band, ambiance and our bartender was friendly. Will definitely return to try more dishes in the future."

"My overall Mother's Day expereice was good, mostly becuase the excellant service we recieved from our server John. He was very helpful, knowlegable, and extremely professional.

Unfornately, our initial arrival was not. We arrived 15 minutes early, not knowing that the restaraunt didn't open until 4:30pm. Several employees were standing around. The bartender finally said that the bar didn't open until 4:30 and the dining room not until 5:00. We were never asked if we had reversations or asked to come sit inside, though we stood out front for 15 minutes. Honestly, the food experience was good, but we probably won't return back to this location. We are actually frequent diners of Greystone!"

"James our waiter and the only James at Osetra is the best. Made us feel at home. He and the service crew was spot on.
The food was very good and protions was very generous. The Manger Tony gets thumbs up for his asssitance with a snag we had.

"Husband had the best steak ever - the bone-in ribeye was cooked (rare) to perfection. Appetizer of calamari and bay shrimp was delicious. Only reason food didn't get five stars is because the seared ahi was too cooked. Still a great dinner and creme brulee was excellent. Great service and ambience. Too pricey for regular destination, but perfect for special night out."

"We were in San Diego for vacation and found Osetra on Open Table, so we thought we'd try it. This was even after some of the negative reviews we read on the restaurant. Well, the negative reviews had come to be proven true. The hostess was rude when greeting us, our server didn't acknowledge us until 15 minutes until after we were seated, and the food was no where near where it should be for the price.... honestly, we had to send one dish back because it was so bland. We were very dissatisfied with the overall service and the food at this establishment."

"The customer service and table experience is outstanding. It's a shame that there's a sports bar with TV, as this detracts from the first-class ambience elsewhere in the restaurant.

The food is extremely good. My table enjoyed the flat iron steak, oysters, salad, and a seafood special, along with dessert. No fault found. Excellent wine selection in full, half and by-the-glass offerings."

"While the server said thank you many times we felt rushed and not appreciated by him and his bus girl. The server did not know how to handle a rewards/gift card so a manager was called and she didn't either YET my manager and her husband had just been there, used their cards with NO PROBLEM. "Our dining experience was mediocre at best. The food was ok and needed a little more seasoning. The sauces were good.Plate decoration was nice though smudges and hasty placement took the beauty and ambience away.This would have been understandable though not acceptable had the restaurant been busy. My glass of water had a slight smell of fish to it, a real put off. I would not recommend this to fine diners and the claim of one of San Diego's best fish houses needs to be lived up to and Earned."

"With the right server we could have a great experience but did not. My date ordered wine by the glass and when she did not like the wine she was served, the server proceeded to argue that it was the best rather than try to simply get another. This made my date feel uncomfortable. The rest of the night he only spoke to me and pretty much ignored. She felt he even looked at her with disdain which was awkward and uncomfortable. The food was excellence but wish we had a different server who wasn't so full of himself and was more tuned into the customers than his own opinions."

"I suspect we hit it on an off night. Our appetizers came before our drinks did and the bread basket came afterwards? There was also a strong odor of bleach which no one could figure out? Our waiter was aplogetic and attentive. The website noted a pre-fix special but when we inquired about it we were told it was only for the last week of the month which was not noted. The Manager reduced our bill by $20 which was fair however we asked them to make a bowl of plain pasta with a little butter for our daughter (picky eater) and they charged us $15 for it.....yikes!"

"Me and my wife had a wonderful Valentine's Dinner. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and it was great...very moist and delicious. I usually am a "steak-guy". But I tried to order fish for a change. "We went to Osetra for Valentine's Dinner. It was Very busy. The food was OK...We ordered off the pre fixe menu.
The oysters were really small but good. I had the Ahi which I enjoyed, however, my husband ordered the scallops and lobster and did not care for it. The service was slow...but they had a full house. They did not ask if we wanted fresh pepper or anything additional.
Just dropped the food off. I prefer more attention when we dine out. We may try it again..."
