Pied a Terre
#1 Rated Restaurant in Miami Beach as of August 2012 TripAdvisor! Located in the Cadet Hotel on 17th and James Avenue, Pied a Terre's intimate setting has 11 tables seating up to 30 people. We also offer an outdoor dining area with two chef's tables to accommodate larger parties. We serve contemporary Mediterranean cuisine in a fine dining atmosphere. Our menu changes continuously to reflect seasonal ingredients and local products. We offer chef's tasting menu featuring our signature offerings as well as an a la carte menu. Our cuisine is always a work in progress and we strive to ensure there are always new and exciting dishes for our guests to sample. We can accommodate any dietary requirements or personal preferences.High Tea would be served with reservation. Personal wine will not be accepted.

"Four of us--from New York, Budapest, Brussels and Miami--met here to celebrate an important event, and agreed we'd found world-class dining in South Beach, much to our surprise! The food perfectly prepared and beautifully presented, an outstanding wine list expertly paired with our various selections and a maitre d' whose guidance was an important, delightful enhancement of the dining experience. This restaurant would hold its own anywhere."

"Patrick has managed to create a little gem for the discerning. Food is unique, service is both warm and correct. Wine list is remarkable and Patrick enjoys matching the wine to your taste and budget. We had a romantic corner table inside but there are tables on the porch and by the pool too. Silvia was delightful and made super suggestions for which courses to split and how to combine them. Great evening overall."

"Overall Excellent experience. The attention to detail throughout is exceptional. Linens, flowers, special monogramed plates, silverware and even the butter. It was top notch for the dining I have experienced in Miami. Patrick was truly exceptional with his wine suggestions and pairings and Sylvia was equally awesome with her recommendations as to what to order. They both shared on a personal level and that made this experience more memorable and personable. The kitchen was superb with the taste, temperature and presentation. The quality & presentation of the fois gras was without difference from my experience of the same at elite 4 star Michelin rated castle dining in Southern France."

"The pictures online and reviews make this place seem like it would be AWESOME. Upon entering the restaurant we realize there are only a handful of tables. A bachelorette party was going on, and the poor girls were hushed constantly by the old British grinches sitting next to them. We had to ask for drinks 3x before we got them; they refused to serve them the way we requested. The menu looked amazing, but the food was cold. I had a shell in my lobster ravioli and overall just found it way overpriced for what it was.
I was expecting NYC/South Beach perfection...and this place was not."

"This was our second visit to this restaurant and it was worth the trip back! The food, service and overall experience was top notch. My husband had halibut and I had sea bass. Both were melt in your mouth tender and delicious. My lavender crieme brûlée was a terrific way to end the meal. A terrific French meal in a quiet tranquil setting."

"A very comfortable small restaurant. The menu is French, yet "of the place", in this case Miami. This manifests as a Peruvian spiced sea bass. The sea bass was done perfectly. The light bisque-like sauce was rather more spice hot than I would have liked, but evoked very positive comments from my companions. The vegetables in the bowl were perfectly done, young carrots still al dente.
The vegetable tarte with a mint sorbet was superb, as was the lemon raspberry tarte for dessert.
The wine list was intersting, explained and choice influenced (if you let him) by Patrick the somelier.

"We had a wonderful evening of food and wine. The staff was professional and highly accomodating. It was a odd chilly evening in Miami and we were to sit at an intimate table overlooking the pool and gardens as there was a special event in the dining room. We were quickly moved to the "Whisky Room" after it was obviously too cold to dine al fresco. The recommendations for food and wine were perfect and delicious. I highly recommend Patrick's superb martini as well as any of his unique and fabulous wines.

"Excellent food; everything perfectly prepared. Wife and I were out of town for Valentine's. We went prix fixe. It was great, but simply WAY too much food! If were at home, we could've taken left over, so we don't waste. But, with a pre-appetizer, the appetizer, main course (sea bass) AND a second main course is simply way too much for us! AND there was dessert! And each dish is a genous fully portion for a typical American consumer.
The lady hostess (also took our order), the sommelier and all busboys were very helpful and prompt. It also helped that we got there early (7pm seating).
Seating in general was a bit cramped (small room). Later arriving patrons couldn't decide where to sit. Luckily we had the best seat in the room."

"We ate at Pied a Terre on Feb 10, 2013 and the meal was one of the finest dining experiences I have ever had. The overall quality, presentation and service were superb. It is a gem amongst the South Beach tourist based offerings. I would give it the highest recommendation possible. A true 5 star meal without pretention."

"Simply superb. The sea bass and lamb chops are outstanding. A new young chef directly from France rotates in every 4 months and creates a new menu. Surprises like the vegatable tort with pea sorbet are simply delightful. Service is attentive in the small dining area. Very new French with light and organic touches replacing the old cream heavy cooking style affiliated with most French restaurants. A great find in the trendy South Beach area."

"In Miami Beach for a birthday get away from the cold. Most of the restuarants are trendy and loud so had to search for a quiet romantic evening out. After reading reviews opted on Pied a Terre and couldn't have been happier. Off the beaten path in a the boutiique Cadet Hotel the restaurant is small and quiet. They do not seat every table and focus on outstanding service and experience for those that are enjoying a special night out. Staff is small and very personal. Waitress made great recommedations and the sommelier is one of the best I have met. They made our special night out even more special."

"The very best part about this restaurant is the special way we are treated each time we return. Sylvie & Patrick make it an "event". "Patrick, the maitre'd, and Sylvia, the hostess, treat you like family. There is a new chef and the food which was already excellent is now superb. The wine list is very extensive and Patrick is adept at guiding you to a reasonably priced gem. Must items are the foix gras and the sea bass (has just a bit of heat). If you reserve as a couple, ask for the table with the king and queen chairs and you will feel like royalty."
