"Our service was excellent. We had helpful, knowledgable recommendations on the appetizers, entrees, wine etc. Greeting at the entrance and elevator ride were really neat and the coat check and bar staff greeted us promptly while we waited for the table (the wait was our choice). We would come back again (budget allowing) and thank you for the experience. Awesome view of Detroit River, Belle Isle, Canada, etc."

"The waiter made good suggestions re. appetizers, but this restaurant holds itself out as a steakhouse-but they can't cook a steak to medium rare. First the steak was brought to me without the topping that it came with and then it was over-cooked, and kind of tough. Real steakhouses don't do that. I will be back in Detroit several times over the next few months and I will find somewhere else to eat."

"Dining experience was good. Only problem was that server ran the credit card twice and 2 meals were charged to us. When calling to correct the mistake hostess was somewhat rude and manager did not return phone call. Situation was corrected but frustrating and for being such a well established resturant with good reviews we didn't expect this lack of customer service."

"Thought everything was nice, the waitress didn't come along much. Only got one refill the whole dining experience on my soda, luckily the water was being refilled by someone else. Sat there with an empty glass thinking our waitress would refill it or at least ask. Salad selection was a bit extravagant since I wanted a house salad with italian dressing, had to settle for a beet salad. Steak was great though and although the sides had to be ordered seperate from the steaks they were large enough to share."

"What a wonderful night. The food and wine was perfect. Chris our server and Patrick the wine steward was excellent. The view up the elevator along is worth the trip. If you do not have time for dinner, a glass of wine while looking over the lake will surely tickly your visual tastebuds."

"This was my first visit to Coach Insignia, and I was very impressed! The elevator ride up provides you with a glimpse of the view you'll be enjoying during dinner, which is amazing! Our server was Luis, and I don't think we have had better service from anyone anywhere else. He was friendly, prompt, and highly attentive. The wine list was overwhelming for a wine amateur such as myself, but Patrick the sommelier was extremely knowledgable and did an excellent job of helping us choose a bottle that fit into our budget and complemented our meal. My wife had the 7 oz. Filet, and I had the N.Y. strip. Both of these were excellent cuts of meat and cooked to perfection. I have never had a better dining experience and can't wait to come back again!"

"I was a little disappointed that we didn't get a table by the window. Especially since the entire time we were dining there was an empty table n front of us. In addition, they messed up our filets. I ordered mine med rare w/ mushrooms and my husband ordered his well done. We got a well done w/mushrooms and a med rare plain. Not a big deal, but at a place like this you expect 100% ironically, when we were tossing our steaks from plate to plate NO ONE was around to notice"

"We took our parents here for their 60th birthdays and it was awesome. The food was amazing and the portions we generous. We ordered appetizers, salads or soups, and our main course and we didn't even have room for dessert. The ambiance is great and we would recommend going at night so you can get the full view of the lights along the river. Great experience!"

"Pros: I ordered the lamb medallions and double-bone lamb. My date ordered the new york strip with shrimp scampi over the top. We both ordered lobster corn dogs. Everything was delicious. The meat is superb in both taste, texture, and preparation. It's expensive, but with a view over metro Detroit, Canada, and the Detroit River, plus a pleasant dining atmosphere perfectly suited for a date and masterfully prepared food, I'd say it's worth it.

Cons: The server was very courteous, though when asked for suggestions, he pointed to all the expensive dishes. Price was no matter for me, but it was difficult to gauge whether he truly recommended them or just wanted to maximize his tip. There were some crumbs on mine and my date's seat."

"My steak was excellent. Blue cheese sauce on top and a side cup of ZIP sauce! The Caesar Salad was excellent with a huge cheesed taco like cracker crust bowel. I actually nibbled on that tasty cracker like item the whole meal. The Breads were fresh and warm. Our Aug gratin potatoes were magnificent. Desert was wonderful. Worth every penny."

"EXCELLENT from start to finish! As requested (though not guaranteed), I got the window table with the spectacular view of the the river and Canada. I find it very romantic especially we're celebrating a very special occasion. The dishes were cooked to perfection with great presentation. The lobster corn dog as appetizer is "to die for". Many Thanks to Dan (server). When my special friend chose the Chef's special for the night "7 ounce NY strip with scallops" but wanted it in 14 ounce, he positively said "I Can Make That Happen". Amazing personalized service! It was greatly appreciated. Nice to know that we have the same "favorites" from the appetizer down to the dessert.
I Will definitely recommend the restaurant to friends."

"We had an exceptional dining experience at Coach Insignia. From the moment we walked in, we were treated very well by the kind and attentive staff. The menu had several delicious offerings, including a vegetarian choice. The view of Windsor, downtown Detroit, and the lights stretching into the suburbs was beautiful and added to the overall experience. "Six family members went to Coach Insignia for a special occasion dinner. The food was excellent. Each one of us ordered a different dish, seafood, beef, lamb, and was equally satisfied. The waiter saw to our every need and was very professional. The view was stunning. Ninety floors up gives an exceptional view of Telegraph Ave., the Ambassador Bridge, Canada and more. Our experience was wonderful and we can't wait to return."

"We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary, were cordially received, got lots of attention, although it was a slow night. We are proud that this restaurant is in Detroit, and that it has such a creative menu. We are retirees who also appreciated on this outing that the C-I still offered the 3-course, prix fixe promotional menu, although we would have been willing to spend more had it not been available. Love the elevator ride up and down."

"Expected the price.

Food was fantastic. Their beef ribs did not have any bones and fell apart in your mouth.

Wait staff were very courteous and knowledgeable.

Don't expect having a good night for less than $80 per person."

"Dining experience was excellent - the food was incredible, the wait staff helpful and capable of responding quickly with recommendations, and the scenery obviously breathtaking. Only issue was the wait time, had a reservation and still had to wait 45 minutes for our table to be ready."

"I love a good steak house and I have a favorite that we go to often but after my experience at Coach Insignia I have a new favorite. The food was cooked to perfection and the views were awesome. I would recommend this to anyone."

"The restaurant was just beautiful. Breath taking scenic view showing Detroit and Canada. Lighting low, very nice for any occasion. The steaks were cooked to perfection. The service was wonderful and any all questions were answered thoughtfully. (being our first time there). The appetizer we chose was somewhat pricey at $12.00 and very small, even for one person. Other than that it was a fine dining experience i would recommend to others, I hope to be able to return in the near future."

"Not a very good place to go if you want to celebrate Christmas....Andiamo downstairs would be way better for that! Hardly decorated at all. Service was excellent, that includes the manager and the server..Dawn. Food very good."

"We had a wonderful evening. Our server - Luis - was very knowledgeable and attentive. The food was excellent and served promptly and at the appropriate temperature. The 7oz filet was done to perfection. The butternut ravioli appetizer and the poached pear salad were a real treat. The wine selection is extensive and offers good bottles at many price ranges - from $30 up. We highly recommend. And, it has the most impressive view of anyplace in the city."

"A delicious meal and a lovely view overlooking the Detroit River however, our table was across from the bright lights and swinging door of the kitchen. There needs to be a barrier or relocation of the table so that one does not have to watch servers walking in and out of the swinging kitchen door with the bright lights and additional noise. The positioning of the table was ridiculous considering the amount of overall space in the facility."

"This resturant has potential however when were were there before thanksgiving with a
party of 8 it's seemed like they were shorthanded and had limited wine inventory. When we selected a
good wine they only had 1bottle when sent it back our second choice they only had 1bottle
which made me wonder about their buying practices and their huge wine list. Dinner was ok
but service was not up to par for the Resturant they were portraiing."

"The view was absolutely beautiful. Looked over the Detroit river onto downtown Windosor. Just amazing. If not anything else, the view justifies the cost (high cost [dropped $200 with tip for my wife and myself]). The food was very good. However, I wouldn't pick the restaurant if competition was only based on food. Chop House price, but not quite Chop House taste. Nonetheless, I think money was well spent and I really enjoyed the evening.

Bottom line atmosphere was superb, view was amazing, service was very good, food was good and price was high. Overall, would highly recommend this place for special occasions."

"My wife and I have eaten at Coach Insignia several times and it never disappoints. First of all, the restaurant has the most incredible views of Michigan and Canada that you will ever see. It is the perfect restaurant for a romantic dinner, but can be great for groups also. Most importantly, the quality of the food is absolutely first rate. The braised beef short ribs are tender and delicious and the filet mignon is excellent as well. They also feature an extensive wine list. Overall, the outstanding food, modern decor, and incredible views create the perfect dining atmosphere."
