Palm Terrace Restaurant & Lounge - Island Hotel
Situated inside the Island Hotel, Newport’s only AAA 5-Diamond Hotel, lies this dining escape. At The Palm Terrace Restaurant we have a Farm to Fire approach with an influence of California Coastal Cuisine. Inspired by Executive Chef David Mand, Chef de Cuisine Roberto Hernandez and their culinary team, our dishes are prepared to be savored and shared with friends, family and colleagues. All menu items are prepared with the freshest, seasonal ingredients from local purveyors and farmers; embracing the idea of localism to strengthen our community. Dine comfortably in our oversized chairs and banquettes while Palm Terrace’s staff works together to create an atmosphere that is energetic, interactive and personal to each of their guests. After dinner, join us in the Palm Terrace Lounge for drinks, dancing, and live entertainment every Friday and Saturday night.
"Our dinners were excellent as was the service. We sat outside on the patio which was quiet and beautiful. My only suggestion is that the menu needed a vegetarian entree added to the selection."

Review 2 for Palm Terrace Restaurant & Lounge - Island Hotel
"Once again, Palm Terrace Restaurant delivers a wonderful dining experience on a day notorious for slow service and food preparation lacking the usual attention to detail. Michael has serve my family many meals and I highly recommend requesting to be seated in his "section". In his expert hands, you will hear a helpful description of the restaurant's offerings and recommendations for wine pairings. The dining room is spacious and comfortable. I believe the restaurant serves an excellent Caesar salad, handles fish expertly, and prepares a delicious selection of desserts. Whenever in doubt, the Palm Terrace Restaurant always provides an excellent meal."

Review 3 for Palm Terrace Restaurant & Lounge - Island Hotel
"A hotel breakfast that exceeded our expectations. Typically, when eating at a hotel restaurant, one expects the food to be decent at best, and the service perfunctory. The Palm Terrace was anything but - The food was quite good, and the service above and beyond what was expected. When my girlfriend couldn't decide between two breakfast choices, the waiter suggested that she get half portions of both. Most restaurants would begrudgingly prepare this plate, but the Palm Terrace went out of their way to ensure that we enjoyed our breakfast.
We would definitely come back."

Review 4 for Palm Terrace Restaurant & Lounge - Island Hotel
"Gone is the bread basket that we were all looking forwards to. Chilean sea bass becomes halibut, and overdone on top. The place is empty but the food takes ages. Like the Island Hotel in general, we feel things are beginning to go downhill though service is still superior. So sad."

Review 5 for Palm Terrace Restaurant & Lounge - Island Hotel
"While the service was perfect we found the food to sparse and uninteresting for the upscale pricing. The decor to us seemed a bit tired but clean. We started our meal with a browned shrimp chimichurri appetizer, the presentation was really nice but was mild in flavor. I ordered their very pricey($13)and very small roasted beat salad which was deliciously prepared with arugula, roasted beats and blue cheese with vinaigrette salad dressing. My husband ordered the Italian bean soup and found it to be somewhat average. For the entree we ordered the halibut which was paired with warm grape tomatoes and thin strips of fried lemon and priced at over $30. We found it to be lacking in flavor and unfortunately no better than steamed fish."

"We keep going back to Palm Terrace for special occasions. The food is always excellent, and the service is friendly and attentive. Valentines Day is especially fun because of the Cocoa Lounge - a room filled with chocolate desserts and delights."

Review 13 for Palm Terrace Restaurant & Lounge - Island Hotel
"I elected to take my family to a Sunday luncheon at the Palm Terrace Restaurant to celebrate my Mother's 94th birthday. My wife and I have dined here many times before. The food is very good but I find somewhat limited in selection. The service is very good and responsive to any request. The dining room looks out upon a well groomed garden and is a very pleasant environment to enjoy the food. This is a very consistent and enjoyable destination for any special occasion or a good meal. It never dissapoints."
