"We had a really nice experience! The staff was very friendly and attentive! The atmosphere was relaxed. The food was very good except for the flan dessert I had! I should know better than to order flan at a restaurant! :) I had the mushroom enchiladas for my entree and it was awesome!! The rest of our group enjoyed their food as well, except for my husband who said his burger was a little dry! Should have ordered it medium rare instead of medium! :) Overall enjoyable experience!!"

"I thought I was making reservations at the restaurant on Ray, but In error, made them for the downtown Tempe location. The hostess was understanding after we figured out why she could't find my reservation. My friend and I sat in the bar and the bartenders entertained us until our table was ready.
The food was excellent, and so plentiful we took our leftovers home. I can't say enough about the service, ambience and food.
Thank you for a wonderful experience."

"Took my mom for Mother's Day because I fit an email they would do something special. All we got was the waitress wishing us a nice day. Geez, thanks. Going somewhere else next year."

"Very interesting food and drink items. Not your typical Mexican food. We shared the chorizo stuffed shrimp appetizer, which was 5 large shrimp that were not too spicy. The shrimp were served with a sweet dipping sauce and on top of a drizzle of the sweet sauce and a wasabi sauce, if you desired more heat.
We each had a different entree, all of which were very good, but thought portions were a bit small for the price. Enchilada dishes were served with large portion of (very good) rice and black beans which filled the plate.
They brought the wrong appetizer and then our entrees were delayed (which we thought was on purpose because of reorder of appetizer, but it was because kitchen made wrong entree."

"I have been going to Z'Tejas in Tempe for many years, and have always had good service. But on Sunday 4/15, it was poor. The food was very good, but we very very rushed. We had ordered drinks and appetizers , along with our main order. We were served our drinks in a timely fashion, and then the appetizer. But we had just barely started to eat the appetizer when our main hot entrees arrived at the table. I was quite embarrassed for my out of town guests who I had brought . Especially after telling them how good it was. Quite disappointed."

"Miss Z'Tejas from our time living out west. The Tempe Z'Tejas was our first stop after arriving in Phoenix. It was a great as we remembered! Outstanding food, flavors and service! Reasonably priced for the quality of the food. Welcomed with the yummy cornbread with just enough spice. Started with the Tejas Trio...especially loved the queso. One of our party couldn't stop raving about (or eating) the Chorizo stuffed pork tenderloin. The Santa Fe chicken enchilada and wild mushroom enchilada were as delicious as we remembered. Just wish they were down the street from us. We will be back whenever the opportunity arises."

"Very pleased. We knew downtown Tempe was going to be tough for parking, so I was delighted to find that you have free valet parking. I've heard Pat McMahon talk about your Voodoo Tuna on the radio for years, so I tried it. Excellent! We also worried about reservations because some restaurants don't do that now, and I was very pleased to find the online reservations. We had to change it slightly, and that was easy too."

"Always a pleasure to eat at Z'Tejas. The cornbread alone is worth the trip. The mango steak salad is yummy and the margaritas are generous. What's not to like?"

"consistently outstanding southwestern cuisine. Never disappoints, the trio with the quesa is outstanding and the cornbread is a great addition to any meal. Always make a point of visiting it every time we pass through the Phoenix area."

"The food was just okay and my Tortilla Soup was not that hot. The service was okay but it was during lunch hour and they were really busy. Friends sat at the bar and had faster service but same complaint about the soup being mildly warm. I would not go out of my way to eat here but I was there on a business luncheon."

"The hostess and host were useless. We had a reservation for 4 pm, Feb 10 for a party of six. Two in our party arrived first and were seated. The rest of us arrived, I mentioned that we were with two people who were already seated, and we were told by the hostess that we were welcome to walk around and look for our group. I was taken aback, since I was expecting the hostess to take us to our table.........not expecting her to tell us to wander around an unfamiliar restaurant. You might as well have a sign that says "seat yourself.""

"We chose ZTeja's as a place half way to meet friends we only see once a year . The hostess was open to our request for a booth in a quieter area so we could do lots of visiting , and the waitress was helpful in describing the food we inquired about. We were also happy with the gluten free options that were available . We thought the food was really good , and that staff were happy to let us stay and visit even though our meal was finished. We are looking forward to the next time we can enjoy another trip to Z'Tejas. Alan and Nancy Blue Calgary, Canada"
