"This was the second year we did the Mother's Day brunch at the Metropolitan Club. After last year's experience, we decided to give it one more try. We did this year...and it will be our last. The view is spectacular. The food is lovely. The service was awful! This is a brunch. We had to request silverware after a trip to the buffet a second time. They never once filled our water glasses without being flagged down. Seconds on coffee? Again, had to wait for our waiter to notice us waving our arms! We also bought a very expensive bottle of champagne. The waiter had no clue how to pour it! When you spend as much money as we did, we expect better. To top it all off, a 20% gratuity was automatically added to our bill. Outrageous!"

"The only good thing about the Bruch was the view. Sevice was OK, nothing expectacular or noteworthy. The food was cold, very few selections, and none of the entrees were very good. Only one green salad, and it just had lettuce, no other veggies. Although our reservation was for 1230, the roast beef dish only had about 10 slices left, and it was cold. The tray was never re-filled."

"We had a reservation for 4 at 8:30 pm. Security clearance for the Willis Tower to get up to the restaurant was a hassle. As we were informed when we arrived that the kitchen was going to close at 9, one of the employees sighed, as if to say we were going to keep her at work longer than she planned for. If the kitchen is closing at a relatively early time on a Friday(!) night, then why do they accept a reservation at a time so close to closing hour? Anyway, the food and wine was good (not great), the view was amazing, ambiance very nice, service fair to good."

"Food was great! Our server Brad was awesome in recommending his favorite choices. Everyone was great except the hostess who guided us to our seat. Before she showed us our table. she was busy in her podium as if we weren't there waiting. She was somewhat unfriendly/awkward. We asked her if we could switched tables and she went sarcastic on us. I'm not sure why she acted like that but I hope she'll change her attitude. I don't want her to get in trouble or anything. I'm just saying this based on my experienced at your club. I may not be a member but I do believe that we should be treated as equals. My husband and I are celebrating our anniversary at that time. I wouldn't want to ruin our day by addressing her.:/"

"We arrived to a beautiful place that was dimly lit and romantic. Our waitress Stephanie came who was quite young and seem very unsure. That was almost the last time we saw here. She poured our first glass of wine and then we almost never saw her again. Our salads arrived before our appetizers and I had to ask them to take them back until our appetizer arrived. We had to pour our own wine and had to ask a bus boy to pour our last bit of wine. Our waitress never checked in and we felt as though she deserted us. After quite a while Stephanie showed up with our entries of lamb chops and veal and I had to chase her across the restaurant to get 2 meat knives so we could eat our meal. Joann a different waitress rescued our meal."

"Went to the Metropolitan Club for the Easter Brunch. This was my first time at this restaurant, and was very pleased with it. I selected the restaurant with my mother in mind and it was exactly what she was hoping for. A restaurant with character and a great selection for the Easter Brunch. I would go back to the Metropolitan Club and would recommend it to others!"

"Nice Easter brunch! Good selection of breakfast items as well as stews, meats and such. Dessert table was a bit disappointing. The little cakes and pastries and even the creme brulee were on the dry side. The walk to the food area was a little awkward, having to go past the lines for the elevator, and dodging kids. We were seated at a window table, which was really nice! Very impressive view. In spite of the flaws, we'd go again."

"This restaurant is beautiful!! We went there so my brother could propose and his proposal was accepted! The staff were exceptional and extremely knowledable about the menu! the food was wonderful and the chef was very accomodating to my guest with special dietary needs. I have been there before and I will be going back the next time I am in Chicago. A five star restaurant all the way!"

"The Metropolitan Club was a special night out for my boyfriend and I. The setting was romantic, the view of the city was beautiful, and the service was great. The only drawback I would say, was that they were only offering a 5 course "Valentine's Day" dinner w/3 different entrée selections vs. a full menu."

"Since I was not a member they treated me like riff raff. The table next to us was cleared 3 times before we finished. I was scolded about asking for a window seat by the host. I am sure this would be a great place to have dinner if you were a 50 year old member. The food was good."

"I absolutely love this place. We went for a friends birthday and it was all it was cracked up to be. The service was great, the food (pork chops) was amazing, and the waiters were very helpful and courteous. I am definitely coming back with my fiance for a great romantic dinner."

"I would have to say that this is a pretty decent restaurant. I do not know if it is worthy of $300, but that is probably what one would expect to pay at any restaurant that over looks the city skyline. I would have to say that if you do plan on attending this restaurant, make sure that you arrive early. You will have to have reservations and you will also have to check in down in the lobby of the building to get a visitor pass. Once you have this visitor pass, you can scan your pass to get to the escalators that take you to the elevator up to the restaurant. Also, make sure you make reservations for a table that overlooks the NORTH side. This is the best view by far...Had a better steak at John Hancock building..."

"I went for restaurant week. My friend and I had different appetizers and entrees so we were able to sample both. We had the carpaccio of beef and the endive salad to start. Both dishes were very flavorful, the beef had wonderful textures. For our entrees we had the roasted chicken breast with grits and sausage and the steak with potatoes. I enjoyef the very affordable and delicious wine pairing. For dessert we had the bread pudding and chocolate cheesecake. The entire experience was wonderful. The roasted chicken was balanced and flavorful. The steak was very smokey with a pop a cherry or plum on the finish. We were very pleased and we will definitely be back for next Restaurant Week!"

"We attended during Restaurant Week. It was a really wonderful evening. I thought the portions on my Husbands Oysters and Mahi Mahi could have been a tad bigger. We had a beautiful view and a great waiter."

"The Metropolitan Club has some of the best views in Chicago. We ordered from the Restaurant Week menu: Carpaccio of Beef, Mache & Endive Salad, Roasted European Chicken Breast, Petit Sirloin Steak, Bourbon Bread Pudding, and Chocolate Cheese Cake. Most enjoyed were the Carpaccio and the Bread Pudding. Other items were good, but nothing special. Service started out at a high level, but some staff had a somewhat condescending air. At the price for a cocktail ($12.50), I should not have had to search for my waiter to order another drink. He did offer to “top off” my cappuccino which was a nice touch. Did I mention the views? Fabulous. Those views are the main reason to try this establishment, but not enough to return."

"Average food, terrible decor, rushed service, but at least they were nice. The place felt very dated, in desperate need of a revamp. Great view though."

"I wouldn't have tried this place if not for Restaurant Week, and I'm glad I did. Went for my wife's birthday and I was really pleased. Of course, this place has great views (67th Floor of Willis Tower), but the food was excellent, and very well-presented. This is a great place to take someone for a special occasion, as I did, and would recommend to others for the same. The service was very good and very attentive, which was duly noted and appreciated."

"The view was spectacular! The staff was very attentive and provided excellent service to our small group. The ambience of the club was very intimate and yet accomodated large groups very efficiently. The Panko oysters were to die for! We each selected different entrees, Mahi Mahi, Salmon, and Petite Sirloin, all prepared to tempt the palate! The bourbon bread pudding and cheesecake were just what the dr ordered to complete the meal. Haven't had a better meal in a very long time. Kudos to the chef!"

"The place needs a face lit in decor, menu and the poor staff's terrible uniforms. If you are trying to keep an "old school" vibe then perhaps you should keep "old school" prices. It was extremely over priced for what we had."

"We're not members at this club, but we felt very comfortable here, and really enjoyed ourselves. The food was excellent; I had the "pan Asian" short ribs, and my wife had the halibut. The server recommended the 360 salad as an appetizer for my wife, which was an excellent recommendation. They also have an excellent bar. Overall, we were very impressed, especially because we felt more at ease than we had expected."

"View was actually not that great even though it's in the Sears Tower. The food was very expensive and not very good. The service was good though. When we went there the place was empty. 5 diners in the entire restaurant."
