"Delicious pear martini and all guests' entrees were tasty--tilapia, braised short ribs, sun-dried tomato and walnut penne. Prompt service, as we were heading to nearby theater. Will be back!"

"Had brunch for 5 on Mother's Day, which turned out to be 7 instead of 5, and they made the accommodation for us despite a very late notice. The food was great and the staff is always wonderful. If you are in the area you need to try it for Brunch or Dinner."

"This is one of my favorite restaurants. Staff is always friendly and attentive without hovering. Have not tried anything I have not liked here. Will make substitutions without giving a hassle. Great selection of unique pizzas.
A must try."

"It was our first time here. On Monday's they have kids eat free so we thought we would give it a try. The restaurant was very quiet as there were only 4 tables sat in the entire place. The kids loved their food, but my husband and I both thought our meals were rather salty. We were not very impressed."

"Because the space can accommodate large groups, it often does. The last 2 times we have been there, they gave had large groups that were very noisy. Good and service were still very good but it was hard to carry on conversations at the table"

"Oak Park has several food restaurants in obvious places. Trattoria 225 is one of the best new finds in a quiet, art section of the suburb. Down the street from several unique galleries and boutiques; it is the pot of gold at the end of the Harrison street rainbow. The menu is good but not terribly unusual or creative, but the preparation, freshness and flavors were superb!I had a Portabella ravioli with vodka sauce and Italian sausage;the best I have ever tasted. It was fresh and complex. My wife had a Tilapia that met the same high praise;super fresh and flavorful. Our bundt cake with caramel filling and vanilla bean gelato was worth every stretch mark it added to my stomach. And while The Meal itself was abbundanzabul , the service was ok"

"I enjoyed my meal at Trattoria 225. My husband's was o.k. too. Their menu has a lot of variety to it, and there were definitely other dishes on it we'd like to try. And their prices are reasonable too.
The service left something to be desired, however. It wasn't horrible, by any means; but the special attention we receive at say, La Cucina Paradiso, was lacking. No one asked if we wanted parmesan on our pasta; no one asked whether we wanted any ground pepper on our salads; and I don't recall our waitress checking on us to see if we needed anything else after being served.
Overall, it's a cool place to dine, and we will likely revisit some day."

"The food was very good. I had baked penne with a house salad. My wife had a vegetarian meal. Others had mussels, special salads. The wine list is outstanding. The service was good. The restaurant is in art district of Oak Park so there are other interesting shops and restaurants in the area. Parking was no problem but I think I was lucky to find something so fast and close to restaurant."

"We have been to T225 several times now. We want to love it, but the service reminds us each time why we cant... A small local italian restaurant should have exceptional service... Servers cant speak to menu, neither food nor wine... Food doesn't seem fresh, and usually covered in far too much olive oil.( and I love olive oil) And, we never feel welcome or appreciated. I really want to love this place because its so local!! PLEASE READ THIS AND GET BETTER! Slight adjustments will help you fill a nearly always empty restaurant... Just 2 cents"

"Pasta and pizza made to order AND with gluten-free ingredients if requested. Two for one pizzas on Tuesdays and they let you take one home. We come several times a year and have never had a bad experience."

"We come here a few times every year and always ask ourselves why we don't come more often. Trattoria 225 is a friendly neighborhood place with a very good menu showing imagination with traditional Italian and adventures beyond. The service is inviting and the pace is just right. A great place to come with a larger group, or just for two. Try it--you will like it."
