"This has been a favorite of ours for many years -- one of the most reliable dining experiences in the area. They never have an off-night. One of the many highlights is the shrimp -- regardless of the preparation, these are always fresh, tender, meaty, and delicious. On this visit, three of us each ordered a different shrimp dish (walnut, with lobster sauce, and Kung Pao), and all were terrific. Very highly recommended"

"Absolutely one of the best dinners we have had in a very long time! We had one appetizer and three main dishes. They were all wonderful, but the best by far was the "Triple S Chicken" which has a Sriracha sweet and sour sauce - just amazing! We also enjoyed the Mongolian Steak, the Ma Po Tofu (a total test dish for me at Chinese places, and they did it well, winning my vote), and BBQ spare ribs to start. Then, we decided to enjoy some dessert too - the Chocolate Wipe Out (oh, wow!) - and some fantastic sparkling Moscato, even better at half price being a Wed. night. The service was quick and very friendly (thanks, Andres), and it was great having validated parking in the lot behind the center. We will absolutely be back!"

"The best lamb chops I've had in years! And the service was right on spot whenever I needed it and never kept me waiting long at all, all my needs were met with the snap of a finger and everyone was exceptionally professional, outstanding would be the general word I'd use for everything about this place and have already recommended to friends and co workers, my girlfriend said it was a date she'd remember forever, so they also added brownie point to my night!"

"The firecracker calamari was outstanding! My husband had Kung Pao beef and I had the Triple S Chicken. The beef was very tender, but wasn't as spicy as he would have liked. He added Siracha to help with the spice and liked it much better. The Triple S chicken was very good! Spicy with a little sweetness! Definitely would order again. We would recommend this restaurant for people looking for a nice Chinese food experience!"

"This isn't your average Chinese restaurant. We had the egg flower soup, seared sesame ahi, walnut shrimp, braised beef and egg fried rice. All excellent. Both my wife and I said it was the best meal we've had in months. In other reviews we heard that the portions were small - we found them to be perfect for an average adult seeking unique flavors vs. volume. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend Del Mar Rendezvous."

"This was a satisfying first experience at the Rendezvous. It is warm, friendly, a bit cramped but worth the visit. We had looked about for a decent option for a vegan meal in mid north county and found their menu would accomodate in addition to their normal fare. We arrived in time to watch a sunset over the ocean. The staff was very attentive and the food was very good. We will do it again - lunch menu looks like a real value."

"I had a friend in town and brought him here for Restaurant Week. DM Rendezvous had a GREAT restaurant week menu, that was pretty flexible. We were disappointed that their dim sum appetizer (which came 2 shrimp, 2 pork, 2 veggie OR 6 pork) could not be swapped out for no pork (i.e. 3 shrimp, 3 veggie). It didn't make any sense to us as to why this couldn't happen, so we chose another appetizer.
The service was good. Different waiters kept checking on us, which was nice but got to be a bit annoying. We didn't even have a chance to really look through the menu before 2 waiters asked to take our over.
Even with all this though, we had a good dining experience and I will be returning."

"Went here during restaurant week. The food was AMAZING. I got the seared ahi for an app. It had a nice crunchy sesame coating, seared rare and then drizzled wit ha creamy wasabi aoli. For my entree I had the Rack of lamb, which was one of the best rack of lambs I have ever had. The entrees are more family style share, so I also tried a shrimp and chicken dish (I dont remember the name, but everything was so delicious. For dessert get the mud pie, you will not be disappointed. The only downfall, to what sounds like a perfect evening was the service. We were not greeted for a VERY long time once we were seated, and he did not check back, we all had empty drinks for awhile before he came back. I could understand if it was busy, but it was not"
