"So nice to find a new "special" restaurant that our family can look forward to going to on special occasions. (Birthdays, Anniversaries, etc.) The Keg (still one of our favourites) has become so mainstream that lately when we go there we end up surround by young families, with young children and it kind of takes away from a nice "up-scale" maybe even romantic dinner experience. We never took our kids to the Keg, it was too fancy! Doesn't anyone go to McDonald's? We like the ambience and the food. People don't mind spending a little more to be surrounded in this."

"I've been to Port's before in 2010 for Mother's Day and had a pleasant experience. This one was just as good. Serive was good considering it was Mother's day and the restaurant was packed. Was seated at time of my booking. Servers were attentive and timing of courses was good. Main was execellent and portion size was just write. The dessert was a bit disappointing as I found it a bit dry. Overall, I would definitely come back for a dinner to see what that experience would be like. As for a 'better restaurant" in Pickering, I think this place is great instead of going downtown."

"I thought your establishment was a pleasant surprise. My wife and I was not expecting the ambiance to be so nice.
We are frequent restaurant goers and we would consider coming back.
On a side note ,the food did take a little longer than expected, where the waitress had to be prompted for an update.
A fair request would be that when a dish is later than 30 min ..to at least let your patrons know that its on it's on its way or that the kitchens running behind. Just a thought."

"Our server, Steven, was fantastic! It was a girls night out and we took a few hours to go through a handful of appetizers, drinks and desserts-all were super yummy! He was friendly, patient and charming.

"Good food, great location. When we first went there, the food was great. Even a hamburger had some interesting twists that made for a pleasant surprise that you expect from a more expensive restaurant. However, lately, the food has 'declined' to 'well prepared'. I realize that doesn't sound like a bad thing, but for the prices I am expecting that twist the chef has taken on an otherwise typical dish but I'm not finding it anymore. Food is prepared expertly, but a steak tastes like a steak, the fish like fish. I can get that for the same price or cheaper at The Keg. Despite this, the top notch staff and excellent location have me consider coming back, but at those prices the decision is getting harder."

"Had a great dinner, my dad and boyfriends steaks were over cooked but it was fixed quickly and we received some bread and deviled eggs to make up for the mistake. Food was fabulous - service was even better than the food.
It takes a lot to make up for making mistakes and this play did it 10 fold. Will be back for sure."

"I have eaten here quite a few times and every time its an excellent experience and I keep bringing different people there to experience it. Pickering doesn't have many nice restaurants so this one to me stands out plus love the location by the water. "A pleasant restaurant with a lovely view over Frenchman's Bay. The menu tends to be a little limiting and the chef is trying too hard to offer food that is overcomplicated and too fancy while ignoring the staples, such as an all day breakfast or standard club sandwich, chicken wings and other standard tasty and filling items. The prices are a little high. However, having said that, it is a pleasant spot to go for lunch with courteous service and the restaurant is very clean. Nice washrooms!"

"This restaurant can definitely be considered a neighbourhood gem. The only downside is they really only have one wine by the glass option, if you don't want that you have to order a bottle.
Other than that, the food was exceptional, location was amazing (right on the water), service was great. You can't find an equivalent restaurant (food, right on the water) in Toronto!"

"There was a group of 6 of us who went for dinner. We had a great time! The food was amazing, the atmosphere was great - exactly what we were looking for! The waitress was really nice and attentive. I would have preferred if they had portable machines to bring to the table for checkout - in this time there is no reason why a modern restaurant doesn't have this capability. Unfortunately the kitchen also seemed very slow, even though the restaurant didn't seem that busy.
Overall, we had a good experience and would return."

"I've been to The Port several times and each time I leave unimpressed with the experience. We had the soup to start and it was excellent; moving on to the mains, I had the American cheeseburger (because I was leery of the $17 "premium" burger) and my companion had the Caesar salad with chicken. The burger was ok but it was served with processed cheese. My companion was happy with the salad but was not impressed with the $16 price tag. Overall, The Port is a nice restaurant but the quality of the food does not justify the prices they charge. There are other options in the area that offer the same quality of food (if not better) for a more reasonable price."

"Port is nestled in a small Pickering side street so you'll want your GPS to help you get there. Once inside you'll be surprised by the large windows giving an unexpected view of Lake Ontario and a nearby picturesque marina. The food is on par with any restaurant in Toronto or New York, far surpassing expectations for a suburban restaurant. Our most recent visit was on Valentine's Day, meaning a special menu (one possibly not repeated on regular days) but one well-crafted and worth the hustle and bustle (I had the lamb: remarkably tender and flavourful). Port isn't really any more expensive than the chain restaurants that dot Pickering, making it doubly worth the trip."

"My wife and I enjoyed a great night out celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. The food and drinks were outstanding! The appetizer and the entrées were cooked to perfection. Very tastey and beautifully presented. What we enjoyed the most however was that the food selection is not your standard fair. There are many enticing and different appetizers and entrees.
We sat by the windows over-looking the habour, which was beautiful, but we were cold due to the cool air coming through the windows. We have now been 3 times and always the food and service have been excellent."

"Service was good. Savoury cheese cake was rather flavourless.new york strip was cool but the plate was hot? Other than the venue the the food was comparable to most run of the mill restaurants. The service was good though."
