Brix Restaurant & Wine Bar
Brix Restaurant and Wine Bar was one of the first restaurants in the development of Vancouver’s historic Yaletown quarter as a destination for casual fine dining.

Opening in April 1999 in a turn-of-the-century heritage building on Homer Street it quickly became known for its innovative food, an extensive, well priced wine list, and its warm and inviting atmosphere amid the high-beamed ceilings and original exposed-brick walls.
A unique glass covered key hole courtyard is one of the city's top restaurant patios and is the only Yaletown outdoor dining space opened past 11pm.
An elegant dinner features a wide range of seafood, game, meat and poultry dishes and close proximity to the theatre district makes the light early dining menu a perfect pairing. Brix is also a favourite for the late-night crowd, too, offering great late-night dining into the wee hours.
Vancouver's top cocktail lounge, George, is only a flight of stairs away down on Hamilton Street.

"Beautiful decor and indoor courtyard! The food was very good, although I felt a little ripped off that an order of scallops was only 2 small scallops. A few times I had to wait with an empty drink but the server was very personable and knowledgeable. Overall I would definitely return again."

"We went on a Tuesday night, so the place wasn't jam packed, but it was still vibrant.
The menu is great, food was top notch, and the service was unparalleled.

"I had asked for a table in the courtyard----looking for that special ambiance. The room was very noisy with several large parties. The staff re-arranged tables frequently which was distracting and again noisy. We asked to be moved inside and were given a lovely table by the window. Unfortunately my mood was affected and spoiled my impression of Brix.
I ordered Cornish Game hen which I found dry. My companions ordered cod and halibut and they both enjoyed their meals. We had sticky toffee pudding and apple tart for dessert which were both really good. Very large wine list.

"Brix used to be 1 of my favorite restaurants, so when out of towners were coming in, I gave them 3 options and they chose Brix. I was delighted, because I have not been there for a while.
I wasn't as delighted once there...... the menu didn't thrill me, the food was ok to good, but not what it used to be (amazing).... and we were out in the patio area, getting hot and cold depending on the heater set up, but no offer to move inside was ever made.

"My wife and I were there for our 14th Anniversary. The services was amazing as usual.
The salad was great and scallops beautiful. Our main course with was the cod that was unfortunitly over cooked. We have been to Brix about sicx times and that was the first time our main course was over done.

"As a visitor to Vancouver, I always try to visit Brix during my stay. The smoked sablefish gnocchi, friendly staff, as well as the magical ambiance are what make me come back over and over and I leave me feeling extremely satisfied. Great for a romantic night out, dinner and drinks with your girlfriends, or a special occasion. A must try!"

"As always Brix didn't fail to please. This was our first time going with a group and we were seated in the courtyard as requested. It was great fun to see the faces of the rest of our group, who were there for their first time, as they took in their surroundings. It went from good to better as the food arrived with everyone loving everything and plenty of sharing. Service, food and ambiance top class as always. It just went to further cement Brix as my favourite Vancouver restaurant by a mile."

"You can tell all the staff really care. They put a lot of attention to each detail during your visit. We had the steak which was on their rotating menu and the crab cakes which is on their regular menu and it was unreal. Definitely recommend this restaurant. Make sure you get your table in the heated courtyard it felt like we were transported elsewhere. Just amazing!"
