A 2012 DiRoNa award winner featuring three unique dining rooms. The Seafare of Williamsburg introduces a 91-item menu that features fresh seafood, certified prime beef and tender veal. Our speciality is sauton ceramic cooking where seafood is simmered in its own juices and blended with ingredients.
"When entering Seafarer, you are met by a tuxedoed maitre"d and you are served by similarly clad servers. The decor is reminiscent of seafood houses of old with vintage art and pleasantly comfortable seats. If only the food lived up to the ambience. Our meal began with salads which were supposed to have bleu cheese dressing, but the taste was mainly vinegared mayonnaise with faint repercussions of bleu cheese. We progressed to entrees of dried out lobster-my husband's was so greasy with what seemed to,be vegetable oil that it was literally impossible to crack and dislodge the meat. My lobster tail was largely tasteless and stringy. the food was abysmal. We have been patronizing Seafare for about 30 years-alas the food is not palatable.."

"The Seafare made our father's 89th birthday dinner a special occasion indeed. The host and waiter made our family feel most welcome and my father was delighted with the extra attention he received. Everyone in our party enjoyed the meal and the service was absolutely outstanding. The waiter, Eric, was most entertaining with his flair for pouring coffee and making table-side irish coffee and banas foster. Even in 89 years my father had not had dessert service to match! I would definitely recommend The Seafare for special occasions or for any meal you want to make more memorable. We will definitely be back next time we are in Williamsburg."

"this restaurant has fresh seafood prepared to perfection. Soft shell crabs were not overdone as most restaurants do and my husbands scallops were perfect as well. Waiters are dressed in suits and give great service."

"Overall a real good experience. We arrived before they opened and the outdoor wood decking is a little loose. GREAT food but put all guests close together instead of spreading them out. We were the first and the very next couple was put directly behind us with the back of the booths connected so we moved to a different table. I'm lactose intolerant and told them that at the beginning. We are used to sorbet being served instead of sherbert and sherbert was given. Simple but painful mistake. The food was phenomenal. Other than the sherbert thing, the service was awesome from the waitress. Would definitely recommend. We don't drink but the wine list looked like it had plenty to choose from."

"Our party of 9 had dinner at the Seafare on Mother's Day and we were also celebrating our son's college graduation. We were seated at a large round table in a corner and that allowed us to have whole group conversations. Our waiter was extremely courteous and everyone enjoyed their meal. It was a perfect choice for our large group."

"We were in Williamsburg for the LPGA tournament, staying at a timeshare, and wanted a nice dinner out with our friends. We were two couples who love good food and atmosphere, and were delighted with our choice. All four dinners were excellent, well prepared and artfully served. Our server was attentive without smothering us, and was very nice. The ambiance was what one would expect of such an establishment, and the price (around $50 USD per person with wine) was reasonable. We all agreed that we would go back again some day soon!"

"We have eaten at this restaurant many times and the food and service are consistently excellent. We left our left-over meal in a bag at the restaurant by mistake, and the staff tracked us down before we left the parking lot to delivered the bag."

"The food was amazing – the seafood was so fresh and delicious. Our server, Carrie Ann was a delight – she attended to our every need. Thank you so much for being very accommodating to our 91 year old Mom. We are already talking about a return trip just to experience another evening like we had."

"4 of us - all 4 dinners (seafood, steak & salad) were outstanding and the desserts were awesome. The only down side was the tables were a little close together. Service was superb. A little pricey so, at least for this family, only for special occasions. We had no alcohol and only 2 softdrinks but with a 20% tip the bill was $40 each. Definitely worth it for a special evening."

"We had a 7:00 PM reservation and did not get seated until 7:30 PM. They seemed to be overbooked. The food was good but not as good as our previous visit, possibly because of crowd. I would recommend the restaurant but with caveats. It was Valentines Day, but they should have been prepared better for it."

"Ambiance supurb. Good serving etiquette. Disappointed in the food quality. Clam chowder and grilled salmon lukewarm; baked potato wouldn't melt butter. A steak was order medium and came out beyond well-done. We did ask that to be redone and it was corrected. Suggestion - IF going, be sure to speak up. I am sure they will make it right, BUT the expection was higher, for the ambiance AND the price paid. Not a good value for the dollar."

"Steak was very had to bite through and bland. Having to wait an hour, even though we had a reservation, to pay $126 for a bland and chewy meal did not make me happy. Our servers were great though and we felt good about tipping them well."
