Terzo (which means third in Italian) offers a daily changing menu of about 15 small plates and 5 large plates. Its “pan-Mediterranean” fare is under the care of Executive Chef Mark Gordon. The wine list offers over 80 options of European and Californian wines chosen to pair with the food.
A high table sits between the bar and dining room and offers communal style seating for up to 10 diners. Additional walk-in seating is available on 3 high tops in the front window. Espresso leather banquets line the dining room. A more intimate back dining room can be booked for private parties of up to 18.
Inspired by the wine bars and cafes of Sicily, Rome, Seville & Madrid, wines are stored along the walls of the dining room. An original fireplace was refurbished and is lit when the weather is chilly out. Stylish lighting creates a chic atmosphere.
"Never a bad time at Terzo. From the minute I walk in to the minute I leave (and we closed the place down this particular visit) I have a terrific experience. Michael is amazing and makes the evening fun and entertaining. Thanks again."

"930 reso and seated at 10 with two guests. While waiting, brought a bottle of wine and opened at the bar by "Fro". Never offered a glass to try. Ordered a glass of wine while we waited and never received. Seated at 10 in the back. Never offered a glass. Finally had to ask 15 min later. Sommelier must be on vacation. Food was meh. "Mushroom" dish had few mushrooms and a butchered poached egg not drained properly. Steak was salty but cooked well. Pork was overcooked. Asked for steak knife, but waitress told me they were the sharpest knives they had and I could barely cut the meat. Very disappointed through and through but could not complain as I was hosting."

"We had a great time all around at Terzo. A group of 4 shared small plates and a few main courses. Every dish was outstanding and tasty. The best part was that our server was unrushed and never pesky, but always there when needed. So we were able to catch up with old friends without feeling there was another reservation breathing down our backs. Thank you, Terzo!"

"What a fabulous dinner. We had the following: humus with fabulous pita, the fava beans - to die for, asparagus with fresh egg - divine, arugula salad - amazing, the fresh pasta with peas, Mozzarella de Bufala - off the charts - two great bottles of Primotivo and yes the chocolate cake and apple crisp. I am checking, but I think I died and went to heaven!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG - it was wonderful1"

"We booked a reservation at Terzo after reading reviews on Yelp. It was a great choice. Its a smaller restaurant with classy decor. I had the pasta and it was so good! Also had the hummus (which was good) and the artichoke. The artichoke appetizer came with slices of grapefruit and cheese (may have been feta) and 4 tiny artichoke slices. It was very yummy but not what you’d imagine when ordering an artichoke app. Overall it was a great meal and I would visit again."

"Excellent service. We were choosing between a few wines on the list (for a bottle purchase) and our server brought us samples of each, without us asking. Also very sensitive to a group of friends who kept getting swept up in conversation and definitely were taking our time over dinner. We felt no pressure at all to vacate the table, as you might in some places. Food is delicious and very fun to share lots of small plates."

"Friends from Canada in town for the week, so we wanted to try a neighborhood spot near their apartment. Terzo showed up with good reviews, so we tried it and LOVED it. As reported, the restaurant is much bigger when you get inside, and it is quite beautiful. The food and wine were exceptional, and our server was spot on with the wine pairings. We ordered the spiedini chicken appetizer and we are sure that it is one of the best dishes anywhere/ever. Everything else was really good, including the buffalo mozzarella appetizer. We had trout, a beef dish and a chicken dish. All were quite tasty. Dessert ice cream was really yummy, as was a decadent chocolate cake.
All in all, this place gets two big thumbs up from our group."

"I have been to Terzo with my daughter on several occasions. This is her favorite San Francisco restaurnt. This time we were celebrating her new job. Delicious food and wine. Every night is a different menu. Hummus and pita, fresh fetuccini, roasted butternut squash and brussel sprouts are outstanding.
Staff is very friendly and service wonderful."

"Terzo is, bar none, our favorite neighborhood restaurant in Cow Hollow. The food is consistently excellent, as is the service--one of the servers has become like a member of the extended family. We love the meatballs and polenta, and the Moroccan chicken."

"I had been to Terzo 2 weeks before and the food was better. The salad was missing ingredients and the cod was frozen or overcooked. I would like to see more variety on the menu. The ambiance is good. My first experience was better."

"Excellent. My fiance and I went here for Valentine's Day and we were 30 minutes early. We expected to sit at the bar for 30 minutes to enjoy a glass of wine but, 5 minutes later the hostess asked if we would like to be seated now! So we said yes and we were given great service and quality during our dining. The waiter was excellent, clean, informative, and very respectful and not intrusive. The busboys were very attentive as well and always ensured we had clean silverware and plates. The food was amazing too. We would like to come back and try everything else on the menu. I enjoyed the fact that my fiance and I could enjoy our conversation and not be seated so closely to other couples. The spacing between tables was very appropriate."

"Terzo was amazing!! The food was delicious, fresh and wonderful. We've been a few times, and always get the same waiter - who is fabulous! Attentive, honest, fast, he is an overall a joy; he is one of the reasons we choose to go to Terzo over & over. {sorry, I can't remember his name}. The menu is vibrant and so tasty. We appreciate how it reflects seasonal, and local foods. The wine list was good, and the desserts did not disappoint. Great atmosphere for a date, or a group of freinds."

"We especially liked the pork meatballs, and ordered a second plate, delicious in a wonderful tomato sauce. Good service, not intrusive, and pleasant room, which was very quiet when we first arrived, (early) but even when the room filled it was possible to converse, which we appreciate."
