Don Quijote Restaurant, the heart of Spain in the heart of Valparaiso. We have been ahead of the "Tapas" trend for the last 26 years!!
Serving Spanish cuisine since 1985 and featuring over two dozen different tapas, including, Octopus, Galician style meat pastries and the traditional "Tortilla Española", Spanish potato omelet.
Our menu doesn"t stop there,but goes on to feature an array of tantalizing entrees, from fresh seafood, like Swordfish and Salmon to succulent Castilian style roast Lamb. The food is sure to please and fortify any traveler who might be roming the countryside. The National dish of Spain is the Paella, and we offer four different versions: Marinera, Vegetarian, Black and Valenciana. Delicious Homemade desserts round out our extensive menu. "I like this restaurant; but if you are seated in the center section, you feel like you are really hemmed in. I was seated back-to-back with a person who was less than a foot away; and I could hear that person better than I could hear the people at my table. Having said that, the food is great. The owner and waiter were very attentive, and the overall Spanish influence is nice. We also enjoyed the entertainment."

"Food was good, was way overpriced. Nothing special about the lamb I ordered that was $25.. average price for everything on the menu. Our waiter recommended that we not drink the tap water as it looked "cloudy". He then brought us bottled mineral water and charged $3.25 each!! We had a party of 6, the policy is a 17% gratuity was to be automatically added. Our bill came to over $200. We paid it and left. 15 minutes later I got a call on my cell from the restaurant's owner asking why we didn't leave a tip!!! I promptly repeated her policy back to her about the gratuity..she said it hadn't been added in by mistake. She wanted me to authorize a tip to be put on everyone's credit card!! Overcharged for pop too..will NEVER go back!"

"Authentic Madrid tapas. The seasoning was right on the spot for Spanish food. Without a doubt the best paella I have ever eaten outside Spain. If this place was in Chicago it would be nearly impossible to get a table. We were driving through and they were able to accommodate our party on a busy Saturday evening."

"Food was delicious!! The best I've had in a while. I couldn't believe I had not been to Don Quijote's before, and now am looking forward to the next time. Management was great and welcoming, even kissed my hand! I have already raved and recommended to friends and family. GO! You won't be disappointed!"

Do not be surprised if the Owners/Chefs do not join you to ensure everything is to your liking. Even a Spanish HS group was there for authentic cuisine and conversation.

"We have been to Don Quijote several times and the food, service and ambiance have always been wonderful.

"What a great find. The food was delicious, the waitress was so helpful and the owners made their presence known in such a positive way. Carlos noticed that my girlfriend was not eating dessert and made sure she got one. The waitress brought us a slice of homemade Lime pie which was so delicious. Then Carlos' wife stopped by to say hello and tell us about her Lime pie. Such gracious hosts that the next time I'm in Valparaiso I'll stop by Don Quijote for dinner."
