"Among the very best restraunts in the lower mainland offering a faultless dining experience without exception. Their seafood centered menu is well thought out, prepared and delivered with casual refined service. The menu keeps changing but the experience and enjoyment will make the most discriminating regular and frequent diners. Definately the spot to finsh a visit to eclectic Steveston. Enjoy often as we do."

"This evening was to celebrate our 20th anniversary. The food was fabulous and presentation really great. The restaurant had however run out of bread. Still the table setting consisted of a side plate and butter knife. It would have been less noticeable had they removed these. Regardless we enjoyed ourselves and will definitely return again."

"The recent renovations with a seashore theme has given this wonderful restaurant a modern, vibrant and classy look. It appears more spacious, yet maintains its cosy charm. As usual, the staff and owner were very friendly and helpful with wine and dinner choices. Both the sablefish and salmon entrees were delicious and were very generous servings."

"Steveston seafood house is a fraction of it ones was. Went with my friend for his birthday. I ordered the Southampton something like that, the prawns, salmon& Cod that's part of my dish were very dry what was notable; the oysters were yummy and the tiny bit if rice that came with the dish. recipe or dressing were very simple taste could easily be imitated at home one bonus to cooking at home, you know when to stop cooking the fish. I will not come back again. The price not good either."

"Our meal at Steveston Seafood House was disappointing. It was dated in its format, the chef obviously felt that more is more, with a confusing array of ingredients on each dish. We ordered the Salmon which was supposed to be in a white wine dill sauce and it was almost inedible as it was loaded with garlic. The seafood salad as a starter was very boring, the greens were undressed and seafood was bland. We truly wanted to enjoy our evening, but there was nothing to redeem it, except a very good bottle of wine. My husband even had two cheeseburgers on the way home, as he still felt unsatisfied. They were proud to tell us the same chef had been cooking for 36 years. It tasted like it, and its time for him to retire."

"We went because of the a buck a shuck deal, the oysters were good! Entree: mussel pot was pretty tasty, the mussels were tiny though. The filet mignon was tender but lacked flavor. Service was pretty good overall but it took us like 15 minutes from getting the bill to actually being able to get out the door, that was disappointing."

"Lobster was over cooked, didn't like Homemade seafood chowder. Waitress don't know which kind of oysters. When we correct her her mistake, she didn't admit and try to convince us she is right? We are not stupid, we know we are right. We just didn't want to argue. We won't go back there again."

"The Steveston seafood house always maintains a high standard both in the quality and presentation of the food. The staff is always friendly and helpful without being obtrusive. This is our favourite seafood restaurante and we would be a more frequent patron if the cost although good value meant that dining at your restaurant was a special occasion rather than a regular venue"

"This restaurant has recently been refurbished with the inside walls painted in various shades of light blue, this will make for bright interior during the summer season. The medium sized room where we were seated had around 16 tables, some of these were pushed together for larger groups, which made things a little tight in some areas. The service was very good, the waitresses were attentive but not intrusive. All dishes that my wife and i ordered were very well prepared and presented. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to those who appreciate good seafood."

"An old gem in the heart of Steveston, the Steveston Seafood House has been around a long time. This visit was the first time I had been back in years and it did not disappoint then and certainly did not now. The food was great and the service was excellent. If you are looking for a traditional seafood restaurant that is not a place to be seen or focused on image, this is the place to go. The emphasis is on food and service not what you wear and who you are there with. A wonderful dining experience."

"Overall, food was decent. Was 1 for 3 on courses (seafood penne had a lot of seafood in it, but the pasta was swimming in, what was tasted like butter chicken sauce), but the people that ordered the specials seemed content.
Was disappointed in the service - server went missing for most of the night (so glasses were left dry, food took long to order, bill took a long time to come).
Would go back, but would probably look for other Steveston gems first."

"We had a very good meal in March 2013. We enjoyed the halibut and the staff were very attentive, except we did not get any bread on our table, but no big deal to us. I forgot to ask for it too. I had the pecan flan and my husband had the pineapple cheeses cake, both were delicious."

"The good was very good, but it took my food about 45 minutes to be served when the restaurant only had people seated at a few tables. When I asked why it took so long for my food to be served, my waitress told me it was because my lobster tail was frozen and had to be baked in the oven. When I asked why a manager didn't initiate discussing my concern about the long wait for my food, the waitress told me there was no manager on duty at the restaurant. I rated the service fair because of the amount of time I had to wait for my food when the restaurant was almost empty."

"A friend and I dropped by late Sunday evening, and were delighted to find a diverse menu, featuring not only the seafood one would expect, but also some tasty-sounding meat & pasta dishes.
I picked the four-course tasting menu - crab & prawn cake, seafood chowder, misoyaki fish, chocolate mousse - while my companion, a kiwi, had the New Zealand lamb chops. We were very happy with our food, with the crab cake and lamb chops being particularly well-received.
The service was prompt and friendly, the food came out in the right amount of time, and we both said that we would come back."

"Enjoyed the dinner mostly although the scallops in bacon was "overcooked" and dry .... very disappointed. Similarly, a seafood pasta dish my friend had was also rather dry. My lamb was nicely done."

"For many years, Steveston has been our favourite restaurant. On this Valentine's Day,we had the smoked Alaska black cod and the filet. Both were excellent, of course. We had the crab and shrimp cakes for a delightful appetizer. We were so pleased to see how busy the restaurant was even at 9:30 when we left. Many others love Steveston, obviously, as well."

"Wonderful as usual. Good service, good food, very relaxing and unhurried. Since we are not big eaters we enjoy ordering the appetizers. It usually ends up costing the same as ordering entrees but it is just as filling and it allows us to have a variety of different foods."

"Our early Valentines dinner was just OK. I had asked on the reservation for a window seat, upon arrival we were directed to a seat that couldn't even see the window. Upon request were seated elsewere (dried out flowers and all). As I don't drink I ordered a non alcohol drink with lime the lime was so thin and dry it was of no use. Appie was good. Dinner arrived and became obvious my rare steak and my husbands med were mixed up. Filet mignon, mushrooms and prawns & Filet mignon and king crab. For a seafood house I would have expected a seafood fork & hot butter for crab. Dinner was ok but not flavorful. We ordered the pineapple cheesecake and were disappointed that the pieces seemed to have been pre-cut as the sides were dried."

"We all ordered our meals from the winter features menu and were not disappointed. The bacon wrapped scallops were perfectly done and my husband's crab cakes were some of the best that we've had. Our seafood chowder while tasty could have been a little warmer. I had the schnitzel topped with seafood and bernaise sauce while my husband ordered the osso bucco. Both dinners were amazing. The service was attentive and friendly. We are both looking forward to our next meal at this restaurant."

"Approaching the restaurant, we were glad that it was not packed with people. But then we found out why. The Maitre 'D was on the ball & greeted and seated us quickly. The server was pleasant, although service was a tad slow. No offer of wine was made, just water.
We had gone to try the Dine Out menu which, on paper, looked quite appealing.
The bacon wrapped scallops were tasty, but rathr small. I thought they had forgotten scallops & the small amount of greens on the plate was dry. They must have forgotten the dressing. My husband ordered the crab cakes, which were good, and his salad had the right amount of dressing, so that was nice. The Osso Buco was aromatic, but very tough. All in all, this place gets a failing grade from us."
