We are Philadelphia' oldest seafood restaurant serving our neighbors as well as out of town guests for over 40 years in a casual setting. We specialize in the freshest fish, seafood and live lobsters purchased and shipped in on a daily basis. Daily offerings include wild salmon, day boat scallops, sea bass, jumbo shrimp, tuna, catfish, crabcakes and the aforementioned live lobsters to name just a few of the items on our menu. Be sure to save room for our homemade desserts like key lime pie, chocolate mousse, bread pudding and more.
"We've been looking for a good seafood restaurant for a while and saw the reviews and decided to try. So glad we did! The food and were great, loved the Rosemary Thyme Sangaria, and the Coconut Bread Pudding....OMG!! Will definitely be returning!"

"Entrees were expensive for what they ended up being. The food was fine but for a seafood-specific place, it wasn't great. Our bill was over $100 without ordering a bottle of wine and with sharing an appetizer ($11 for 4 shrimp in a shrimp cocktail) We sat outside, so it's hard to speak to the atmosphere in the restaurant, but outside was fine. Our server seemed to be in quite a rush, even though there were only about 4 tables in the entire restaurant. She gave us the check, turned around to check on another table and then came back to pick up the check. She gave us about 30 seconds to pay, and when we said we hadn't looked at it yet, she offered to stand and wait for us to give her our card."

"We (three) enjoyed the 7 oz Lobster tail dinner special for $19.00.. It was very attractively served and perfectly cooked. It came with two "sides". Among us, we had french fries, baked potato, brocolli and all had cole slaw. We will be back soon."

"The remodeled interior is lovely, much improved, and the service could not have been nicer. The food was unexceptional. New England chowder a disappointment (loaded with potatoes) and the broiled flounder on the dry side. Still, a nice place for the neighborhood though a bit pricey for what we had."

"Stumbled upon this just-off-Rittenhouse-Square place in May and keep coming back. Don't let the name dissuade you for trying them for brunch. The shrimp and grits are divine. So is the flounder Reuben (even though it sounds strange-it's great!) There are plenty of non-fish items too. The prices are great, and unlimited mimosas for $12 make it a real bargain compared to the places just a block away. I've tried it for dinner once, too. Only had a few appetizers, but they were all very good, and again, the drink prices are very reasonable compared to restaurants in the area. My only concern is that this place gets "discovered" and I won't be able to get in so easily anymore ;-)"

"The calamari was average, but tender. Swordfish was fresh and delicious. My wife really liked her Mahi Mahi special. Nice beer and wine selection. Service was average, server was busy and didn't check back after meals were delivered. Luckily everything was good. Would return."

"I love the softshell crabs here and look forward to eating them every season (late spring.) They have 2 ways of cooking them - sauted in butter with garlic and tempura fried. The first one is my favorite. They are always tasty and tender."

"Seafood Unlimited was recommended to me by a friend who had eaten lunch there. I ate dinner there with several friends and while the host/service was very good, the food was not. Together, we shared the etoufee, shrimp entree, Gazpacho, oysters, mussels, crab spring rolls, shrimp cocktail and Tilapia entree. Overall, the shrimp was over-cooked and dry, the entree portions were small for the price and the vegetables were over-cooked and dry. The Tilapia was under seasoned and the gazpacho was more like a chunky tomato soup (ie. no real taste of other flavors). The mussels, however, were VERY good--great flavor and well cooked. Wouldn't rec. the restaurant to anyone with exception of those looking for a small bite (mussels) and glass of wine."

"The food was excellent, and the artistic flare to the decor was wonderful to look at. I would definitely go there again. The waiter was great, and knowing that it was a husband and wife team that ran the place gave more confidence to having a wonderful time."

"We returned to Seafood Unlimited for the first time in many years a few weeks ago and had a great tiem. Simple, delicious food; friendly un-pretentious service. We went back on a Saturday night, eager to have a similar experience. They were busier - not sure they are used to being busy! Waiter didn't do a good job, including allowing me to order soemthing with a gluten containing crust after I had mentioned an interest in avoiding gluten. He missed the basics - "Could we get some water?" The food was still good - wife had the lobster; I had panko crusted sea bass - (OK, shame on me for not knowing that panko is a form of breadcrumb - I"m new to this gluten thing). Not the same the second time around."

"Very, very pleasant restaurant in Rittenhouse Square. I had their Manhattan Clam Chowder and it was terrific. A bit different than the normal chowder. Tasty. Then it was the swordfish. Cooked just right. And all for a very, very good price."

"I have been to Seafood Unlimited before and the service was spectacular. This is why I recommended it to my husband and the other couple we dined with. However, we did not get the same experience or attentive service I received the last time I was there. The food was just okay. My husband ordered a Lobster Roll, which turned out to be Lobster with mayo stuffed in a dinner roll. He assumed it was a lobster egg roll,I guess that is what you get for assuming. His fish taco appetizer was lacking in the fish department with only three tiny pieces of fish and some wilted lettuce in the taco wrap. It looked like my 11 year old made it. Lastly our dinner took longer than it should, about 40 minutes...I won't be back for a while."

"My boyfriend and I came here for dinner on a Friday around 7:30. The small dining area was only half-full. Our entrees were okay. I had the Panko crusted sea bass. The amount of fish on my plate was surprisingly small, at most a quarter of a pound. My boyfriend was happy with his ahi tuna, though he orderd it medium rare and it came out very rare. Side dishes (potatoes and veggies) were fine, but nothing I couldn't make at home. Overall the food was just okay. However, I enjoyed the lemon-rosemary sangria - it had just the right amount of sweetness."

"Reservation for two on Sunday evening, 4/14/13, at 6:00. Ate inside, but there are outside tables. It was a bit too cool for us to eat outdoors. Very interesting decoration/mural on main wall -- worth viewing. Outstanding service. Very good food and a very good value for what you get. Just a very "cool" place to dine."

"Fabulous food and service. Large enough for groups though I felt the amtmosphere was well suited to small groups and couples. We had a lovely romantic evening as the setting was comfortable and not overly loud, mainly the food and service was what won us over. We will definately be back again."

"We enjoyed brunch - smoked salmon platter and crab/egg benedict. Our server was pleasant and helpful. As always, great hospitality - one of the owners is almost always there welcoming us warmly. I would definitely return and would recommend it to others."

"The owners and the employees made us feel right at home. They treated us like we're the only ones there. We ate there 3 times during our visit and found the food delicious. Again even though they were very busy(Valentine's Day) and we just just arrived in Philadelphia; they made us feel like we were regular customers. When we come back to Philadelphia, we are positively going there again for dinner."

"Ambience and food presentation and taste fitting for less expensive cafe. Entree for $23 should have been priced at 15-18$. It was okay but I probable wouldn't go out of my way to return."

"Went to seafood unlimited for valentines day with my girlfriend. I told her where we were going and she was a little skeptical about the name. I secretly was to but we were quickly made into huge fans by the bed of the night. Seafood unlimited is by day a fish market and by night a very nice small resturaunt. It's tucked away in Rittenhouse surrounded by lounges and bars. The restaurant it's self is very small and the bar is even smaller but it adds to it's intimate mistique. We got to the front where the owner welcomed us and confirmed our reservation, he also told use about the resturant renovation and the artwork at the bar. We sat down to a small table and was served amazing food and great wine. Great experience for me and the mrs!"

"I really enjoyed dining at Seafood Unlimited. The Service was top notch, our waiter was THE best and our food was hot and delicious. I have a 6 year old son that was very demanding and without a blink of an eye the waiter was very understanding and polite. While walking out my son was given a tasty fishy treat. He loved it!

"Seafood Unlimited is a gem in Philadelphia. My lady and I ate there last Friday night and we will be going back. The food is delicious. Tony our waiter guided us through an excellent night. I loved the raw.clams and oysters very fresh. For the meal i had a lobster and my friend had scallops and shrimp alfredo. Dessert was a home made creamy key lime pie with a grahm cracker crust that is one of the best I ever had. Go to Seafood Unlimited and ask for Tony."
