A wonderful little gem in downtown Wheaton just 2 blocks from the Metra. Serving delicious, homemade dishes using preservative free ingredients and hormone/anti-biotic free beef, pork, bison, chicken and eggs. Fresh fish featured weekly, live music every Monday night, a great wine list and quaint sidewalk dining with alcohol service. We buy from businesses within our community, or from small businesses who are an integral part of their communities and try to have a positive impact on their environment. Opened in 2007, this husband & wife owned restaurant was nominated for Restaurant of the Year in 2010. You will be impressed with the ambiance of the small dining room, the personal, attentive service by the wait staff and the delicious menu options.

"This is one of our favorite restaurants. Their soups are exceptional and we also like their pizza, which is thin crust but very tasty: a nice combination of flavor and texture. I tried the deconstructed blue salad- it was really good (fresh bacon, bibb lettuce, stilton cheese, tomatoes). It might help if they served it in a bowl as it is somewhat difficult to mix it on their square plates. The service was first rate: our server, Nate, was gracious but never intrusive. I've also been here for lunch, which is equally delectable. They pay a great deal of attention to both food and service."

"Delicious food, wonderful wine. We didn't like how close we were seated to our neighbors. On both sides we could hear their conversations and it was very distracting. If you go there ask for a table or booth."

"Food was better than service. Appeared our waiter had half the totally full dining room on a Saturday night, so he just could not get back to us very quickly. Food is tasty, good portions, and good value. Better than expected selection of wine and especially wide range by the glass. Would definitely go back."

"Service, as always, was excellent. 3 of 4 thought their food was very good. Scallops left me a touch disappointed. Noise level was "energetic" but did not interfere with conversation at the table.
If you're in the Wheaton area, definitely give it a try."

"Very nice experience. The service staff was generally very attentive, particulary with explanations of the specials and other menu questions. We were there around 6 PM and the meals were brought out very quickly. They may not normally offer a bread service - we asked for bread and they did bring it, though it was not a very bountiful offering. The waiter was not familiar with the wine specials that were advertised on the website. Cozy, dark dining room."

"I went to the Cellar Bistro when it first opened and thought it was pretty dreadful, and haven't been back since. At a neighboring retail store recently, the owner was waxing on about how good the food was there, so I decided to give it another try. My friends and I went for lunch and judging by that, they have indeed improved. I had a cup of the tomato soup to start. The soup had a little spicy kick, not too much, which made it interesting, and sautéed chickpeas garnish. I also had a grilled salmon salad. The salmon was cooked and seasoned perfectly on a bed of greens dressed properly and the salmon had a dollop of caper aioli on top which made a good salad even better. I will be back to try dinner soon."
