"Our first dinner at Yono's was spectacular! The ambiance, including a jazz duo, was special, the service was great and the food was out of sight. The flavor was even better than the presentation, which is saying a lot. The prices are very fair for the quality."

"Totally unexpected to find a fine dining restaurant inside a Hampton Inn, but it's true! Indonesian tasting menu was excellent, cocktails and wine well prepared, and service attentive without being intrusive. I also appreciated that they were not put out by a solo diner, which sometimes happens to me at restaurants of similar level in other communities. Will be back."

"Excellent all around. Food was perfectly cooked and well presented. Nicest wait staff I've ever had. Wonderful ambiance with the piano and acoustic bass. We will certainly be back."

"Awesome place to enjoy our eight year anniversary! The food and presentation was by far the best my wife and I have ever experienced. Would absolutely recommend this wonderful place to anybody! Chef Yono came out to talk to us. He was very polite and kind, made us both feel welcome at his restaurant. Will definately be going back again for many special occasions to come. Great memories!"

"The food was well cooked -- fish for example was just done and so very succulent. The food however was a little bland, and I would have preferred a touch more attitude or spicy edge. The service was almost too attentive, and could have been less "chatty" and therefore a little less disruptive."

"We went to celebrate my husband's birthday. They gave us each a glass of champagne and they printed a Specials menu that said Happy Birthday, Mark. They made us feel special. The food was awesome. We split the Indonesian rice appetizer, and had the T-bone steak special, and the Bakmi Goreng noodles. They also offer many choices of wine in a 1/2 bottle size, which is great for one person. This was our second time there, and would definitely go back."

"Eating at Yono's was great! My wife and I had the "Nasi Rames": Indonesian Tasting Plate. One was straight up, the other was gluten free and they both tasted fantastic. The chef made sure everything, from the vegetable roll wrapper to the sauces, were completely gluten free. The service was excellent. The ambiance was perfect for suit and tie date night. Overall, the value was worth what you pay for."

"My first visit to Yono's was definitely a winner. My S.O. and I were celebrating Valentine's Day and he chose Yono's. I was so impressed with the food and level of service, I'll certainly be dining there again. I'm a vegetarian, so rather than have the chef whip up something special for me (which our server explained would be perfectly ok for me to ask), I chose the Stir-Fry with Tofu, which was really yummy. My partner chose the Bakmi Goreng and cleaned his plate! Everything was so fresh and delicious. The fire place was glowing which made for a really romantic atmosphere on a cold winter night. Next time, I'm going to let the chef create something for me! Definitely the best restaurant I've dined at in the Capital District."

"When we stay in Albany, we usually dine close to our Wolf Road hotel. This time, we wanted to venture further afield, and are so glad we did! We ate in the dining room, accompanied by the soft tones of a pianist and bass player. Service was impeccable. Yono himself came out of the kitchen to greet and converse with diners. The food was delicious. There is a focus on Indonesian flavours, but not to the exclusion of other types of cuisine. From soups and appetizers to main courses and desserts, everything we chose from the regular dinner menu was delicious. The presentation of each dish was interesting and attractive. The wine list was extensive. We can't say enough good things about Yono's. But you can be sure we'll be back!"

"I cannot say enough about the service at Yono's. We made a reservation for the Saturday night following Valentine's day and the place was absolutely packed. However, this did not hinder the incredible service and attention to each customer. The music in the dining room is perfect for a lovely dinner. The food was outstanding and I literally could not stop eating the pizza rolls! I had the Indonesian Tasting Plate which I would highly recommend for anyone visiting Yono's for the first time. The wine selection is extensive and the wait staff is quite knowledgeable, they suggested a fantastic pairing for our meal. Thanks Yono's, for many years of providing the Capital Region with an incredible dining experience, may there be many more to come!"

"This was my very first time dining at Yono's Restaurant. It was my partners birthday, and I wanted to go somewhere special, above and beyond what we usually do for dining out.
The employees at the hostess both were very professional, welcoming and friendly. 5 star service for getting us to our table. After that, things went a bit downhill.
Our waiter was nice, but nothing special. He was pretty focused on his other table (a party of 10), and therefore we did not feel we had his full attention, or even much attention at all. Food was decent but nothing memorable. The fact that the pickled veggies repeat on the Indonesian tasting was disappointing."

"Food is good; nothing spectacular, but it does have some unique finds -- venison, shark, etc. The wine/beer/cocktail list is extensive but WAY, WAY, overpriced! One glass of house wine costs significantly more than it would cost for the entire bottle at any wine store. Moreover, they could put a little more beer in the glass for the higher cost they are charging.
The service is slow. Our dinner for two took over two hours. Granted, nice restaurants do cook-to-order and quality overpowers swift delivery, but there needs to be more efficient flow. It took twenty minutes to get bread at the table.
Nice to meet Chef Yono, he came to the table, and the complimentary truffles and cheese were a nice touch and will be remembered."

"Unfortunately this visit was not up to par. I had been here in the summer and it was excellent. I still don't know why they serve the tuna ice cold, but it is good but I prefer it seared and served. I had to send my duck back because it was well done. I waited quite awhile and when they served me it was rare, which I wanted, but the skin was not crispy. That's the way I am used to duck breast. I did not eat it. The presentation was a little strange with some beet sauce that looked like a puddle on the plate. My husband had the pork belly and the Indonesian plate. He was not happy at all. I actually tasted the spring roll and that tasted very good. Dessert was sorbet and delicious chocolate ice cream. Servers are very friendly."

"Overall a great place. Unique food and lovely presentation. The service seemed a bit disorganized; took almost 15 minutes for drinks to be served and the wine and liquor knowledge could be better. There was a rehearsal dinner going on which I feel took away from service at regular dinner tables and other tables of larger parties seemed to be doted on more especially since we were using a groupon?"

"SERVICE! The service in the dining room is outstanding. You are treated like royalty. The food is as good as you will find in Albany or anywhere. Great Bistro fare with an Indonesian flare!Top notch wine list and cocktails as well-pricey, but very good. Quiet, sophisticated dining room, yet formal attire or jeans and a sweater are equally comfortable. The Bar area has the same quality food and good views of the street, but it is less formal and was quite boisterous last Saturday night. Definite date night destination in either the bar or dining Rm!"

"The food is delicious, creative, and consistent. It is no surprise that Chef Yono is called upon to cook for clientele like Yo Yo Ma and Anthony Bourdain. The service is simply impeccable, other restaurants should take some notes from the Yono's staff. A great place for special occasions."
