"The service was good. The two of us who ordered mixed drinks ended up with glasses of straight alcohol and returned them for wine. The vegetarian options were good. One steak that was ordered medium rare came out medium well and charred at one end. Soups were excellent."

"I'm brutally tough to please... especially at restaurants, but I have to tell you, the ambiance, service and food was outstanding. Salmon... amazing. Halibut... incredible. Even the salad and blueberry dressing... incredible. The only improvements I could suggest are: 1) Better bread 2) Remove the cloth covers from those chairs... uncomfortable because they bunch up under you 3) The gazpacho was amazing, but bland before I added fresh lime juice and cilantro. All in all, a very good experience. I'd return."

"We had to pick a spot for dinner to take a relative who is quite a food critic, a daunting task. I mean, we enjoy good food but consider ourselves fairly easy to please, not a characteristic of this relative. Solano's immediately comes to our mind whenever we want to eat out, and we couldn't think of a better place to roll the dice on pleasing our relative. As usual, Solano's did not disappoint! Our party of five each received wonderfully tasty entrees and everything from the staff to the food was presented in such a pleasant manner the evening was a total success. The salad dressings, sauces and chutneys/salsas were all made from scratch and delicious! Our relative was hugely impressed and had a great time."

"In Old town LaQuinta, historic setting, very appealing from the outside. The food was good and the portions on the small size which we like. The prices were a little high especially the choices of wine by glass which we selected as the four in our party all prefer a different type of wine. I definitely would recommend it but will select another restaurant in the same area before I visit this one the second time."

"We dined inside and it was warm. Overhead fans were on so that after a few minutes, the temperature was bearable. Wait service was very good. The side salad was very good and just the right size. I had the mahi with curry sauce, the sauce was good, but not much curry flavor. The fish was perfectly cooked. Sorbet for dessert. The cabernet-blackberry with fresh berries was excellent. Others had pasta and prawns. Both very good."

"We took visiting guests for dinner and everyone loved the food. We had a variety of the seafood dishes and the fresh fish of the day which was perfectly prepared and finished with a light amount of delicious sauce that just enhanced the fish rather than overwhelming it. I appreciate the large selection of gluten-free choices on the menu; one member of our party is gluten intolerant and she was so happy to have so many delicious things to choose from. Also, we had very personable and friendly service."

"As good a place as I have been lucky enough to dine in several years at a price that unlike Bay Area places was nice to the pocketbook.The frontdesk were very helpful when we arrived and our table was not ready, they tried to accomodate with several other choices but the table became available and the evening was worth it especailly since we were seated at 8PM and the place remained full until we departed after 930."

"I had the Osso Buco which was the special. Not a traditional preparation and not very exciting. Served with a risotto that again not traditional and average at best. For $35, you can get better value elsewhere. Service was very good."

"Virtually all the staff chipped in to provide us with a great meal. Fernando was our head server and he was great, especially as I congratulated him for serving both of us our best sea bass ever. It was cooked perfectly! Salad and vegetables were also very good, with reasonable values on good wines. Thanks also to Alex for her visit at the end of our meal."

"What can I say that hasn't been said. Solano's is our favorite place to dine for any occasion and for all the features. We dined at Solano's twice last week and it was wonderful. We always make it a point to bring a new set of friends with us. Our friends as well just love Solano's.

"Our food was very good, the house salad was very fresh and not overly dressed and my fish was cooked perfectly,served very hot and had a nice red pepper sauce that did not overwhelm the fish. The service was personable,but started very slowly with at least 15 min passing before we were offered drinks or talked to our server. A very long time elapsed between salads and entree. All in all,we enjoyed our evening and will go back."

"Excellent meal, wonderful ambience. Only complaint I have is that my dessert was served almost 10+ mins after everyone else at my table. I turned it away when it finally arrived as all of my friends (5 of them) had already finished eating their dessert. To give our server credit, he packed it for me to take home and didn't charge me for it. That was the right way to correct this oversight. I'd go back to Solano's in a heartbeat."

"Excellent food. I had the Huckleberry Salmon which was fantastic! My wife and her friend had the Pommegranate Prawns and Scallops which they both loved. Her husband enoyed the Mahi Mahi. Salads were very good. Very friendly waiter in Francisco!!!!! Would definitely return!"

Perhaps they could pay attention to the administrative part of running a business
especially a restaurant. There must be more information given about parking and the difficulties that
prevail. More detail must be given in their confirmation of reservations.
Mistakes should not be made in the spelling on the menus (potatoes?).
When charging, the amounts should be as printed in the menu and not as computerized).
We will however return on another occasion."
