"I am on the fence about this place. I am going to give the review, as a "I might go back, but would order different items". We started with the mussels, we've certainly had better. They were slightly fishy and there was not enough sauce. One of my favorte thnigs to do is to soak up the sauce with bread after finishing the mussels; not possible here. Next was the steak. We ordered the recommended "Wedge". Honestly, next time I would order a steak, not something already cut up and from multiple part of the cow. There was no sear on the outside of these pieces. However, it was tender and had a nice flavor. We ordered string beans and truffle fries and they were delicious. The ambience was very pleasent."

"You can not go wrong with anything from the Menu.. Christos is our "go to Place" for Steaks in Astoria.

"Christos is ridiculously amazing! The seafood, the steaks, all the sides...tremendously delicious!! So lucky to have this restaurant in my hood! The staff is excellent - attentive without being overbearing. Alaskan king crab legs - perfect. Filet mignon - perfect. Blue point oysters - so so yummy!! I cannot rave enough about this place - GO!"

"My only complaint is that I called the evening before to let the staff know that it was my son's birthday. He said that they could bring out their standard dessert for the occasion or he could order from the dessert menu and then have a candle inserted into whatever dessert he chose. My son chose the Baked Alaska dessert, but to my disappointment, it did not come with a candle and the port wine as promised. I excused myself from the table and went to the hostess stand to remind the staff of my phone call. After several minutes, a tiny bowl of whipped cream with a lit candle was brought out with two small glasses of port wine. The staff sang Happy Birthday to my son. Better late than never. I was not charged for dessert."

"Seemed to be very loud on Saturday. It's definitely a place for large groups as there were only two of us. The only part of our meal we enjoyed was the steak. We ordered a Cesar salad and the lettuce wasn't even green it was yellow. The octopus was soggy. Drinks were good! Then we had the porterhouse for two. That didn't disappoint. It was perfectly cooked and tender. The service although thorough was cold and not very friendly. We have been coming to this restaurant for at least 13 years and even had our bridal rehearsal dinner here. Last night we decided that this would be our last time eating here. If you want a local steak house I recommend you try it but careful with the appetizers. From past experiences its hit or miss with them."

"The food at Christo's was very good, but the prices were pretty high. >$300 for 3 people, granted we had a little wine, but not enough to create this type of a bill. Service was good in the beginning when we were one of the only two tables, but when it got busy, we no longer got service - I waited 20 minutes to get the server's attention to request the check when we were all done.
So, overall, if money is no object, it's a restaurant to check out - however, I imagine there's much better deals."

"We had a lovely meal here. The restaurant wasn't very crowded, which is surprising for a Friday night but it was to our benefit. The service was quite good and the waitress was friendly. A few of her suggestions were just as she said they would be. Wine was good but not expensive. We had the porterhouse for two and spent about 130 or so on the meal but it was worth it. We will be back. I would make reservations if you plan to eat here."

"The food as always was outstanding. From appetizers to dessert, every bite was incredible. The only issue this visit was the service. I can't remember going to Christos in the past where the server stretched his arm across the table (reaching in front of my friend next to me) and expected me to take my plate from him and place it down on the table myself. Is this how they serve a $45 steak now? There was plenty of room for him to walk around the table and place my dish on the table in front of me. Another thing I noticed was they didn't clean the table with a crumber in between courses.
We still tipped 20% because everyone has an off night here and there but I hope they step up their game next time."

"I was able to enjoy two dinners at Christos while visiting Astoria on a business trip. The first one was with a small group and the second visit was with a friend. Both times the food and service were very good to outstanding. Everyone enjoyed their meals immensely. Eric was our waiter the first time, we sat at the bar the second time and Joe served us both provided excellent service and menu tips.
The only minor complaint that one diner had was that the trio appetizers are very small portions. For example the grilled shrimp was just one large shrimp. The restaurant is noisy but we were able to be seated in sections that were quieter."

"We were a party of 5 attending the restaurant for the first time on 4/22, and our experience was nothing short of outstanding. From the Bartender (who went out of his way to bring me a nice hot tea - I was under the weather!) to the waiters and management team service, the experience for being first timers was memorable.
The food was -oh so good!. We had almost a bit of everything: Crab Cakes, Broccoli w/Garlic Sauce, Mussels Aegean, 1LB Lobster,Caesars Salad, Littleneck Oysters, Clams, Portehouse for 2, Salmon, Fillet of Fish, and a very delicious Mashed Potato mixed w/Lobster!
It goes without saying that we'll be back very soon!"

"Not sure if this is a Greek restaurant or Steakhouse, but no matter what your preference the food was very good. we had a party of 5 and the started out with Greek appetizers and finished with Porterhouse steak which was excellent.I don't know if this place warrents Manhatten prices, but it's worth a try since you can have steak and also have the option to go ethnic."

"Date night with my gf. Had the fried calamari as an app and it was AMAZING! One of the best fried calamari I've ever had. She then had the salmon; cooked perfectly, good portion and tasted very fresh and delicious. I had the skirt steak, it was ok. Not bad but not the best I've had, well seasoned but could've used a bit more salt. Their home-made steak sauce was cold, and a bit too sweet. One of the things I disliked specially was that they serve the steak and the fish with oil drenched at the bottom of the plate. Not a big fan of eating oil drenched meat or fish. For a steakhouse, I've definitely had better but it wasn't bad either. The ambiance is very nice and the service is professional. May return at some point."

"Christo's was very good! The meal I ordered was the lobster and steak for 2 with two sides and it was $150; not a bad price. The lobster was very good I recommend it to all who go here, but the steak was not very large for two people. If you are a big eater make sure you get a big appetizer because the steak and lobster for two will not fill most people up. This is coming from a $165 LB man. The service was phenomenal and the prices overall were very very good. My only negative is how small the steak was for two people. Other then that if your in Astoria or living in Queens and want to be catered to, go to Christo's."

"I originally had not planned to eat at Christo's on account of having a reservation somewhere else in the city; however, I had to change them at the last minute. I am VERY happy I did!
My (now) fiancée and I were celebrating our engagement at dinner. From the moment we walked in they treated us like we were special guests. Checked our coats, sat us promptly, the staff was amazing, and the food- RIDICULOUSLY GOOD!!!
We were very impressed about every part of this restaurant. Our plans are to visit NYC again in May and we have already made plans to reserve another table at Christo's again. This was one of the best finds I have ever come across!"

"You will not be disappointed by bringing a date or special love one to Christos Steak House to celebrate. I took my boyfriend here for his birthday (30th and 31st) and he loved the huge ribeye steak he ordered. I had the skirt steak which was equally tasty. We ordered some mashed potatoes and broccoli on the side. The drinks are pretty strong so watch out. The waiters are very attentive and will help you order the proper steak for your tastes. We went on a weekday night so the place was very quiet. The food came within 10 minutes. Dessert was yummy too. Overall the bill for 2 people including tip was about $160. This venue is a gem in the Astoria."
