"what happened to your quality? you used to be so much better.prime location but food and atmosphere/service is lower quality than Denny's. now there is one fewer fine restaurants in Ventura. we will never go back :-("

"They have made some great renovations to the restaurant, moving the bar and Happy-Hour area away from the dining area. Much less noise and bunching of people close to each other.
Food was great and service by Kenny was outstanding. I strongly recommend ordering "Kenny's Special" which he cooked at the table. Excellently prepared."

"WE WERE IGNORED IN THE BAR FOR THE LONGEST TIME WHILE WAITING FOR OUR TABLE. VIEW WAS GREAT, FOOD MEDIOCRE. STEAK WAS OVERCOOKED, SCANT VEGIES, NO BREAD SERVICE, AND MASHED POTATOS WERE POWDERED, OR REALLY DONE POORLY. I WOULD NOT RETURN HERE."

"One of our party ordered a rib eye cooked medium. He is not a guy that ever sends food back. When he cut into the steak it was well done. Our waiter came back to the table a few minutes later and saw the steak. Without even having to ask, the waiter offered to get a new steak or even prime rib. My friend would have eaten the steak and not really complained. I thought it was above and beyond good service to pay that much attention to the customer. The waiter is a guy, and unfortunately I don't know his name. He has served me many times before and is always a great waiter. Charnel should be very glad to have staff like this!!"

"Restaurant is right on the boardwalk next to the Crown Victoria Hotel on Harbor Blvd. Great view of the ocean while dining.Good choice of steak cuts. Gets busy and the waiters have to tend to Happy Hour customers and the dinner crowd. Limited seating so be sure to make a reservation. Parking structure is next door and parking is validated."

"Tara was our server and she is excellent. Very attentive. When we arrived we were taken directly to our table. No wait! We appreciated that because the waiting area was very crowded. I understand that they are expanding and that area will be more comfortable."
