"Mitch and Toni's continues to excel and get better. Although usually very good, the service was excellent and the food wonderful. A great neighborhood find with great food. ON Thursday's BYO bottle with no corkage. Life is good."

"This was my first visit to this restaurant and we were all pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food.
The service was very good and the food well prepared. There was only one thing that slightly disappointed us. Our reservation was for a Saturday night and we were able to order from the prix fixe menu. However, the menu that was shown online was not the same as what was offered that evening. The waiter told us that this "early bird" menu shown online was only representative of the type of food served and did not represent the actual menu. Otherwise I would highly recommend Mitch & Toni's and I'm sure we will go back in the future."

"I am in the minority in my dissatisfaction with Mitch and Toni's as it was very busy on Saturday nite. My wife and I started by each having a glass of wine and sharing the Brisket slider appetizer. My wife ordered the roast duck and I ordered the seared tuna. The duck came to the table under cooked but our waiter quickly took it to the kitchen to have it cooked more. The duck was presented with its natural juices and not the more conventional black cherry, orange or currant glazes. One of the glazes would have improved this dish. My tuna was tasty but not as firm as I would have liked--the tuna did not cut cleanly and shredded a bit. A brownie smore and coffee were fine for dessert--but when spending top dollar-I expect more."

"I really should say I would recommend the restaurant with an asterisk. The food is usually good. The waiter, who is always there, seems to not really listen when I order. This is annoying in both the obvious way.. the food is prepared wrong. However he doesn't check on the table for at least 15 minutes after someone else brings it. Then it takes forever to get this fixed. The appetizer was a salad with goat cheese. I asked if it was a slice or a medallion and he said if was a piece...nope it was a crumbled goat. I only like a tiny bit of goat so if I knew it was a crumble I would have asked for it on the side. Dinner was another mistake of the same kind and dessert was homemade choc. Chip cookies which were burned."

"We've eaten at Mitch & Toni's on several occasions and they 'wow' us every time. We started with a fun rounds of drinks including a blood-orange margarita and a jalapeño margarita. We kept it light for appetizers and had the felafel. What a treat...they were perfect! The entree selection offered a wide variety of choices pleasing to all palates. Our group had the pistachio crusted rack of lamb, grilled mahi mahi, the tuna special with three delicious dipping sauces and scrumptious BBQ beef short ribs. Even though we were kind of full, we couldn't resist dessert...the s'mores and dark chocolate semi-fredo were the perfect end to our wonderful meal. The staff are warm and friendly, and happy to accommodate you in any way they can."

"Another very good dining experience at Mitch & Toni's. Food was great as usual - tuna tartare appetizer and braised short ribs entrées, and peanut butter chocolate dessert were particularly delicious; prosciutto, fig & arugula flat bread pizza and duck were also very good. We had an early reservation on a Friday evening so it was not very crowded and thus not too loud - our previous dinners here have suffered from a rather noisy atmosphere due to few soft surfaces in the dining room. Overall, a very nice meal on our third visit, glad to have Mitch & Toni's so near to home."

"We have gone to Mitch & Toni's many time and love it. We bring our kids who, while teens, have watch one to many Chef Ramsay shows & have become quite the critics :) With two kids we try to keep it reasonable, & in the past it has been easier. Pre fixe was off which makes it hard. My little Ramsays order off the main entrees & we felt pressure to '+ it' but did not. We need to budget below $200 which is hard. Appetizers and desserts are slightly overpriced. Great, but overpriced. Entrees are top $ but well worth it. Of our 4 dinners the only weak item was the potato augratin serve under a NY strip. All tried it, so it's not just the tastes of a 13 y/o, it was a 'brick'. I notice portion size from table to table varied too much."

"My husband and I went on a Thursday night date. It was a late afternoon decision after we received the BYOW email. We thought it was the perfect night. Brought a special bottle from home to enjoy a delicious meal. We were in no rush and were able to enjoy each course. We had the caesar with calamari and tuna tartare to start, lamb chops and salmon for dinner. Everything was so tasty! A special bonus, we had some great live background music. Always a great time at Mitch and Toni's."

"First time at this restaurant, went for the prix- fixed which is served from 4 pm-6:30 based on menu on website. Given menu in restaurant it was completely different, they said they change the menu every week. I was looking forward to the items on the menu I saw on the web site which included steak and cheesecake. The food was delicious, and beautifully presented. My friend does not like chocolate and all the desserts included chocolate. The main courses were two fish dishes and one chicken dish. Menu could have used more variety. All things considered, I would definitely go back but call first to,check on the prix fixed menu. Also enjoyed the Chardonnay and the coffee. There is live music on Thursday evening starting at 7 pm."

"Our meal was on Easter Sunday in the early evening. There were many family groups and when I looked at the menu, I saw why. Mitch and Toni's now has small, large and family sized meals! The tables are close, but people are respectful of space. The hostess and co-owner, Toni, always visits the tables. If you come here, your name is in the computer so that you are greeted as a regular which is nice. My husband and I always think of this when we go to a place more than once. I had the roasted chicken, baked potato and delicious broccoli; Joe had duck. We shared mussels. We each had a glass of wine, but no dessert. Our bill came to about $100. There is valet parking, even if it is raining, you don't get too wet. This is a nice local dining sp"

"Service was excellent. From the confirmation Of our reservations to how we were given attention by our waitress Keri, we were pleased straight through. The food was delicious, SAMs was shared and divided for us( nice surprise). The mussels were light but plenty of sauce to soak up with the bread. Wine list was not ove done but complimented our food well. The salmon was just perfectly done. Dessert was fair. Overall a great local spot and defintely will return!!"

"Second time at Mithc & Toni's American Bistro -- and once again totally satisfied. Actually brought some friends who also enjoyed it. Menu has a good variety of choices, food is always fantastic, and the staff is very accommodating and professional. Only caveat is that it can get a bit noisy."

"Four of us had an early Friday reservation (6:30). We had perfect duck, excellent sushi grade seared tuna, melt in the mouth braised beef, very good and different pizza and a really wonderful crisp chopped kale based salad. The waitress was attentive without hovering and each of her suggestion were on the money, particularly when we told her to just bring her two favorite desserts, a great apple tart and a s'more (really!) that alone was worth the trip. The dining room has a sleek simple elegance. The only negative was one I had seen in another review: the bill is settled on an IPad and the person who brings it indeed hovered over our host while she figured out the app and worse, the tip. But a perfect meal."

"DELICIOUS FOOD AND GREAT MENU! Can't praise the food enough. On a par with good NYC restaurants and head and shoulders above typical Long Island fare. A godsend to LI-dwelling food snobs who can't always get into NYC to eat. Our favorite local
Not a fan of using the IPad to complete my bill. Hostess stood over me while I was calculating the tip and made me feel uncomfortable. Never got a receipt, which was supposed to be emailed. I'll still go--food's that good--but I wish they'd leave the iPad with you in private for a minute to complete the bill. Otherwise, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!"

"Mitch and Toni's continues to impress and improve from already high levels. The menu changes aside from daily specials. The only downer on this visit was a waiter who kept rushing us to order in spite of an almost empty restaurant while we were enjoying our first glass of wine. That is normally not the case. Will keep going back for more great and creative food."
