Located in the Art Gallery of Alberta in downtown Edmonton, Zinc offers a relaxed fine dining experience inspired by simple elegance and served in stunning surroundings. Zinc menu focuses on fresh Alberta ingredients fused with local artisan food products.
Intimate dinners, group celebrations, casual lunches or the simple enjoyment of a glass of wine become inspired at Zinc.
Zinc is open for lunch, dinner and Sunday Brunch. Our menus change seasonally and include dishes inspired by featured art exhibitions.

"We had the Chef's Tasting Menu and we were very impressed. This menu offers a sampling of all of the courses and 4 mains! The amuse bouche was a treat, much more gratifying than many we've had. We hope Zinc will continue to offer this exciting value through all seasons and look forward to the next menu change when we'll certainly order the Tasting Menu again."

"They jacked the price for Mother's Day and had a buffet for appitizers and desert. I don't like buffets and was NOT impressed with the service for $50 per plate plus juice and coffee. I will not be back."

"We had a delightful brunch which the staff took extra care to make special. The appetizer/continental breakfast buffet was varied and flavourful. The entrees were elegant and tasty and just the right amount of food. The dessert buffet was whimiscal - bananas brulee over banana bread pudding with caramel whiskey sauce was perfect - and delicioius. The parting gifts of herbs in pots were a wonderful spring addition."

"From amouse-bouche to dessert, the food was unimpressive. The scallops were on a puree of sweet potato which drowned out the shellfish as there was enough puree on the plate to be described as a small soup serving. The avocado spring rolls were greasy, flavorless despite the cilantro wash underneath them.
My chicken main boasted morel mushrooms. There were two of them cooked to be crunchy and dry. The rest of my dish had turnip and pearl onion with a white sauce. This dish was not for the visually stimulated. The pork medallions were over-cooked (the waiter didn't ask how the meat should be cooked -overdone is the default). In addition, they were served on a potato base with a very sweet cinnamon syrup generously poured on the plate."

"amazing all around, came for my birthday. our server was attentive but not intrusive, giving just the right amount of attention to our group. The chefs tasting menu will be one of the lasting memories of my life ( and I am sure all in our group ). The food was plentiful, course after course, the dishes kept coming. There were so many wonderful flavours at work that I could not have asked for anything more. The scallops, lamb, pork, salmon, quinoa, sorbet were all standouts, the rest was very good as well, but these were simply amazing. Thank you."

"One of the guests with us is a celiac. She informed the waitress and mentioned that foods needed to be gluten free, so what could she have. The soups were suggested as well as the salmon. She ordered the mushroom soup. She said it was very good, but she had to leave the concert during the second act as a reaction to a gluten. The wait staff need to be more informed as to the ingredients or at the least check with the kitchen.
The rest of the food was good. I am not sure about the amount of wine served for $10 a glass when poured from the bottle at the wait staff 's amount. The amount I got was minimal for the price. However, the food was tasty and the presentation superb ."

"Very nice atmosphere and it fits with the Art gallery. The food was good and nicely display and presented but we felt for the price of lunch - a business special occasion lunch- that it was expensive for how much food we received.I may comeback for drinks on another special event outside of work but I doubt I would return for lunch."

"My husband, friend, and I enjoyed the spectacular chef's tasting menu at Zinc, and we were pleasantly surprised with the high quality of the food and presentation. I read the reviews prior to coming, and it seems that others who rated Zinc low due to portion size probably ordered only one or two of the tapas-sized plates. We all left very full and satisfied after having the 9 small plates, which for us comprised 4 courses plus a sorbet. It was a pricey night when you include a bottle of wine as well to the meal, but well worth it for a truly memorable dinner experience. Would definitely return!"

"This was the first time that I gone to Zinc. What a superb restaurant for dinner! The food was divine, and the service was extraordinary. I particularly appreciated a menu offering “bit-size” portions of all items on the menu. This allowed us to try and share many items on the menu, facilitating excellent conversation about the food experience. The server was attentive, efficient and pleasant, and attended to all our needs without being overbearing. The sommelier was excellent, and very helpful and informative about our wine selection. All-in-all, it was a wonderful dining experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant for dinner."

"I don't know how this place isn't busier. It has consistently produced great meals at a reasonable price. And for the foodie, they offer all their plates in a smaller version at 1/3 of the price. Meaning you don't have to make the choice between fish or chicken or steak, you can have them all!
When I'm in Edmonton, this location is always an option."

Frankly, I loved the setting... but not a chance would I go back."

"Pretty good overall - we enjoyed the duck spring rolls and scallop appetizers. Had a variety of bite samplings from the mains. The bison was very overcooked while the lamb and salmon were properly cooked and tasty. Also tried the lobster (catch of the day), which was excellent. Service was very good. Not in the top tier of restaurants in town but still pretty good."

"Menu is expensive, and the meal are ok. It 's far from being fine cuisine restsurant. I orderbss an apetizer the cheese. They advertise the double cream brie, I received a lot quality standard brie. Scallops were a little undercook and the beef tenderloin didn't save the meal. Overhaul , very dissapointed."

"We went as a team lunch, but we all agreed we wouldn't come again. The food was good, however the service ruined our entire experience. The server was not attentative (he seemed really out of it), and it took a long time for the food to come, plus an additional 15 minutes before we were able to get the bill. We got there at 11:45, ordered right away, but couldn't leave till 1:30. That is too long for a lunch!"

"Every restaurant has its off nights and we happened to hit this one on an off night

"Wonderful location at the Art Gallery of Alberta. Good selection of items on the menu, with the unique opportunity to size your portions (two prices per item, depending on the size) with a further opportunity to "mix and match" (this is true for both appetizers and entrees). All of our selections were very well prepared, with attractive presentation. Special attention was paid to my wife's food allergies, so that a pleasurable dining experience was had by both of us. Our server was terrific- personable as well as knowledgeable regarding the menu items and wine list. Desserts were well prepared as well- in our case, the creme brulee and the cheese platter."

"Our server was attentive, friendly and had a vast knowledge of the menu and wine list. We were disappointed that the edmonton dining week menu was SOLD OUT by 8pm on a Saturday?! Its great that they offer a "bite-size" portion of everything on the menu so we had the chance to try everything. For appetizer we shared the duck spring roll, scallops and homemade sausage. The scallops were amazing. We did not like the home made sausage, it had a weird texture and was BLAND. For entrees we tried the lamb, bison, salmon and orzo pasta. The lamb was the best of the bunch but a tad too salty. The bison was not good; bland and it looked a little "grey". Overall Zinc is great for ambiance and for drinks but the food could use some improvement."
