"I live in Waynesville where this little gem is located and am grateful every time I walk in the door that this Atlanta couple decided to relocate to the area and open a restaurant here, two years, ago. It only gets better as time goes on!
A native of NY, Chef Reynolds most recently hails from Atlanta where he had spent the previous 14 years at some of Atlanta's finest. He now puts his experience to good use in his farm-to-table concept restaurant. This is no mom and pop joint stuck up in a sleepy little mountain town. This is a touch of welcome refinement without the stuffiness of a white tablecloth establishment.
The food is top notch gourmet and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, with no hint of pretense. Worth a drive!"

"My wife and I spent to days in Waynesville celebrating our wedding anniversary. We live in Arkansas and travel 625 miles several times a year to visit friends.
We had three dinners there--all three were excellent. We have always enjoyed our Frogs Leap , but they have come up a notch with their small plates, their local cheeses (especially goat cheese), their fabulous salads, and the sorbets.
The service is always impeccable; the atmosphere is relaxing, the wine list is impressing. We plan to return every year to celebrate our anniversary."

"We used the reviews on Open Table to find this gem and we were impressed with how accurate they were. Southern cooking with a flair. Definitely farm to table. The owner/manager was actively involved in supervising the wait staff and making us feel at home. She has extensive wine knowlege(from a previous stint at an Atlanta restaurant ) and was happy to decant our wine. We will definitely be back."

"Waynesville has several very good restaurants and this is one of the best. Attention to detail to make sure your experience is perfect is one of things this place does very well. Ever plate is checked before it goes to the table and the waiter we had was on top of things as if our table was the only table he had. Everything we ordered was perfect."

"My husband and I were visiting in the area. We looked on Open Table for available restaurants. This was available at the time we wanted. Our server was very pleasant and helpful. We were brought some cute little bread and two kinds of butter; very good. We then started with soup; excellent! I had the chicken with goat cheese; it was flavorful. My husband had the crab cake with the ramp succotash - oh my! We definitely will make a point to go back whenever we're in the area?"

"My wife and I live in Arkansas but we also have a home in Waynesville. It is a 625 mile drive from home to home. I always look forward to our trips because when we get to Waynesville the first thing we do is eat at Frogs Leap. The service is amazing; the menu is outstanding, and the food is as good as it gets: the homemade sorbet, the wonderful salads, and the variety of flat breads."

"We have dined at Frogs Leap Public House many times and LOVE it! We have lots of out of town visitors and we always take them to Frogs Leap. The food is incredible, the service excellent, and the chef modifies recipes for our son, who is gluten and casein free. Everything I've ever eaten there has been fantastic but I think my all time favorites are their shrimp and scallop dishes and the Vidalia Onion Bisque I had on Saturday night. I could eat that every night!"

"Frog Leap Public House continues to carry the banner when it comes to foodie heaven! While ramp season is coming to a close, the ramp pesto on the flatbread with mushrooms was divine so get it while you can. The Blackened Trout entree to follow was delightful and for dessert, a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream sends you out of the door very happy! Make sure this is on your list for Waynesville dining,"

"Mostly we all enjoyed our food but some of it was overly seasoned for our palettes. The shrimp bisque and the onion soup were very good. The main course ordered by two of our party was a chicken dish with lemon. Both the people who ordered it felt the lemon was too strong and over whelmed the rest of the dish. I had the pork and enjoyed it but the collards were too highly seasoned. The fourth member of our party had the trout and was totally please with it. We all felt the waitress could have been more attentive."

"I want to thank everyone for a wonderful evening. We were meeting friends from Atlanta in Waynesville and we unsure where to go for dinner. I had done some online research and the reviews looked good. They were right. Everything we had was absolutely delicious and the service was wonderful. We will be back again. Thanks again for a wonderful meal and evening."

"Food was marvelous. Adventurous with seasonings and unusual treatment of sides. The overwhelming smell of the wood fire (which imparts the great tastes) makes it difficult to breathe and the smell lingers on your clothes going with you to whatever event you've planned for after dinner!"

"When I made our reservation, there was an opportunity to include any special requests. I mentioned I woould appreciate a table for two tucked away since we will be celebrating our anniversary.
Once we arrived, the hostest acknowledge we were celebrating our anniversary. The service was great and the food delicious.
Our anniversary was acknowledged by management with a free dessert that was delicious also.
Great experience!"

"This farm to table experience was top notch. It was obvious that this restaurant has some very talented chefs, as every single bite was not only well seasoned, but cooked perfectly and prepared in imaginative ways. The flavor profiles were excellent. We had a party of 6 and were able to try many things on the menu. Our favorites were the meatloaf, the pork chop, the parmesan grit cakes, and the chai creme brulee. The pear sweet tea (alcoholic) was really tasty. I wish I lived close by so that I could frequent this great place."

"Strongly suggest having a reservation. During the winter I always felt really cold during the meal every time I dined there. Food has always been excellent with wonderful presentation. This is the place I take the parents and the in-laws to show what wonderful experiences Waynesville has to offer."

"Our local favorite also excellent for gluten intolerant patrons. Our first visit with someone gluten intolerant, we found their extensive list of appetizers, small plates and dinners had many gluten free items, and others could be prepared gluten free. Our waitress had extensive and detailed knowledge of ingredients used in preparation of all menu items, and even offered to check with the chef to see if certain ones could be prepared gluten free. Add this ability to deal with special dietary needs to their already wonderful menu, excellent wine list, and spectacular service, and it all adds up to 5 star rating"

"Went for a birthday lunch with a friend. Had a wonderful meal of cobb salad, parmesan grit cake (yummy) and she had the cilantro lime tacos, which were great! We had decided to split an unusual dessert, sherbert with champagne and meringues, which turned out to be excellent and even better had a candle in it! When our bill arrived, they had comped the dessert for my friend's birthday. Our server was delightful! Will def be back:)"

"We had a reservation, but were told if we "hang on for a few minutes" a good table would be available for us. Well about an hour later we were told that they were "lingering" and so we decided to take another table...It was sort of in an akward position-we ordered steaks medium rare but mine was too bloody...they made some sort of harvarti potato with it--and it was over seasoned-Not that great. There was really nothing on the menu that even sounded that great-to me and I'm a big restaurant person-eat out alot. Don't understand the ratings...Over priced-"

"I had oysters on the half shell and Shrimp and grits. Both were fabulous. My wife had flounder and mussels that were also excellent. We both had spinach salads complimented by their special dressing that started the meal off perfectly. This was Valentines Day and the service was excellent and attentive. The ambiance was pleasant for good conversation with a romantic flair."
