"It was a perfect evening for our 5th anniversary. The oysters were very fresh and flavorful. The pear salad was delicious and we both loved the petit filet mignon cooked to perfection. Happy anniversary desert samples were just enough to tastefully conclude our meal."

"This restaurant is amazing!! The food is absolutely mouth watering!! I am very picky when it comes to the quality & taste of food. I ordered the certified New York steak & it cut like a filet mignon! You have to order the side of peppercorn cognac sauce. Dip your steak in that & then the mashed potatoes & you will be in heaven with that bite! Also, we ordered the Ahi Tuna. That was incredible! The way they sear it is so delicious! Some type of spice! Dip that in the wasabi sauce & then the soy sauce. lso, they have a great wine list & the service was outstanding!! I can't wait to go back! :)"

"We have been to Forbes Mill at least 4 times. Each time, I say that it is the best meal I've ever eaten. I usually get a fish dish while my husband goes for the steak. Delicious. We have gone to many other restaurants to try something new, but always end up comparing it to FM. We finally came to the decision to make FM are go to date night place. Why spend money somewhere not as good?"

"Service was great, food not so much. My wife's Kobe filet was very under cooked (she asked for medium rare), and when she sent it back, the same steak was returned nearly incinerated. I believe a truly upscale restaurant would have cooked a fresh steak to her specifications and not be so bold as to send out the same one. In fairness, my steak was done very well and I was comped for my wife's dinner. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience and I will not recommend this business to my friends and family!"

"For the prices, the steaks are just OK. I had a NY cut and I expected it to be a better cut of meat. The flavor was good, but the meat didn't seem tender enough for the price. Additionally, the augratin potatoes had little flavor and were under cooked. The Wedge salad was very good and I recommend it. My wife had the Prime Rib. It looked very nice and she enjoyed it."

"When your Martini is served on a high ball glass and Irish Coffee with just coffee in it then you know it is a bad sign. But we decided to stay to see if they will redeem themselves but that did not happen The 'Catch of the Day' was salty, veggies overcooked, and then to find (lots)of salt on the baked potato skin was a shock. Only the petite Filet Mignon was OK. Think we'll stick with Alfred's (not getting paid to say this at all)."

"My wife and I went to Forbes Mill to celebrate a special occasion. We'd never been there before. The food and service didn't disappoint. What DID disappoint were a combination of small things. Our table was surrounded by tables of under-dressed patrons... tee shirts hanging out and flip flops. Although our steaks were tender and easy to cut, the knives provided were as dull as butter knives. Lastly, the ambiance was dampened by eating on sheets of butcher paper on top of white linens. We had expected a top-notch "special occasion" type experience. Although the food and service was good, it was more of a cafeteria style experience. We were disappointed."

"We came here on Valentines Day and we had such a wonderful meal that we decided to come here for our anniversary. Both times our steaks were cooked to perfection, they melted in your mouth. The sauces that came with my filet-filet were so rich and yummy. I loved that I had a sampling of two different kinds of beef prepared two ways. The au gratin potatoes also were scrumptious as well as the creamed spinach. I have not had that good of a creamed spinach anywhere, just the best!!! Great food, great service! I will definately be coming back."

"We had a wonderful evening. It was a little loud but that was understandable as it was the monthly singles night-which must have been a great success. Our waiter was great but maybe a little too enthusiastic and could tone down his presentation a little which would make it a little more calming experience but he was a good waiter, just my opinion."

"Service was lacking, we had 2 different waitresses assisting our table, one of them not knowing the other was taking care of us. When that was straightened out, in giving the waitress our order she would recommend something else. Our wine order came right away but pretty much gone by the time our salads arrived. Bread was not served until after the salads came. I've been here before and had a good experience, after this experience on a non busy night it will be awhile before I return."

"Great service! Food was outstanding! The wait staff was excellent. Our scheduled waiter had some unexpected large groups, and he kindly asked if we would be okay being served by another waiter. He was excellent. I can't remember his name, but they were ALL great!
The food was great... although for the four of us, the bill was almost $500. But, they had personalized menus for our birthday boy... just fantastic!
Loved it! Will definitely return!"

"My husband and I went to Forbes Mill on Valentine evening. Restaurant was very busy, but we were greeted with a very warm greeting and seated within 5 min. Our waiter was very busy but made us feel like we were her only table. My husband had the prime rib and it was done beautifully. I had the salmon and it justed melted in my mouth.
Our valentines meal was most excellent, and I highly recommend this restaurant."

"Best steaks in the Bay Area. Initial service/hostess was not very accomodating or friendly but thanksfully once we were seated all was well with service and food. Highly recommend the Prime Blacked Ribeye and the Prime Filet Mignon."

"The service was attentive and excellent and the food was very good. My only complaint was that my steak was a bit overcooked ... I asked for medium rare but it was closer to medium. The NY Strip steak was still very good and tender, and it was close enough that I didn't send it back."

"We had a wonderful dining experience at Forbes Mill - This was our first time here and it couldn't have been more worth it. My husband and I came here with our 2 year old daughter for a family valentine's day dinner. The prime rib and filet were excellent, and my daughter's mac n cheese and dessert were delicious despite the higher price for a kid's meal. We also had the strawberry shortcake which was tasty and fresh. Our server, Brian, was so attentive and personable and great with our daughter which we really appreciated. For being a high end steak house, we felt very comfortable bringing our daughter and will definitely be back for another visit!"

"Took a date here for Valentines day. Actually went the day after Vday. This place was perfect. The ambiance was perfect, not to fancy and not too casual. Lighting was good, I could read the menu. Wait stuff were awesome, friendly and knowledgable. I have Celiac Disease and they took care of my gluten free meal with no problem.
We both ordered the filet mignon, got mine with prawns, and we were not let down. Seriously, these steaks were the best I've ever had, my date agreed. We've eaten at some high end top notch steak houses and this blew all those out the water. The pricing was very reasonable as well.
Can't wait to go back."
