"I love the food, service and atmosphere! But the biggest reason for loving this place is how accommodating they are! I was over 30 min late for my reservation and they still gave us the table and didn't rush us! It was so nice to be treated well - especially at a restaurant that remains so popular!! Thank you for that!!"

"TripAdvistor pointed us in the direction of MB Post when we were looking for somewhere to eat during a layover in LA on the way to Hawaii from the UK.
All I can say is, WOW, fantastic food and drink at very reasonable prices. A great atmosphere too. If only there was somewhere like this on my doorstep. Superb."

"MB post is a great addition to the one-dimensional South Bay scene because it has better food that most of the tired restaurants in the vicinity. If you don't mind eating dinner with all white people (I'm white and it was still too white for me), and with guys who wear t-shirts that say "BRO" across the front in big block letters, this is a great spot."

"We loved the great flavors of everything we tried.
we were there for brunch and had drinks, biscuits, bacon , hash and chimichangas. The dishes are meant to be shared and we enjoyed the unique presentations and ate every bite . "doesn't meet the hype... it's good food and fresh. It is foodie-like but more in the realm of fresh rather than interesting and unique. Some things were absurdly overpriced... we were asked if we'd like iced tea (pre-menu delivery so no idea about pricing), we were given 3 options for flavors... we ordered and 2 bottles of Republic of Tea Brand bottled iced tea were put on our table... we were charged $8.50 for each... waste of time and money I can buy that at market any day for 3/4 less.... place like this should brew their own unique blends... moreover should not charge $8.50 for iced tea."

"don't try to carry on a conversation. In other words, your date will be impressed, but save the conversation 'till after dinner. Noise level gets crazy.
Service is friendly and well informed. There's lots for the wait staff to know and our waiter knew it all. Answered questions unhesitatingly about food and wine selections. Food portions are small but easy to share. One appetizer and two dinner selections plus vegetables were plenty for two of us. Everything prepared and presented beautifully. Not rushed even tho we were early and people lined up to get in.

"Food was generally good (not great). Most dishes tend to be on the saltier/over-seasoned side. The location is nice & it's a popular spot for brunch/lunch & dinner. You probably can't go wrong with any of the dishes (nothing will be awful), but the prices tend to be on the higher side and the portions are small - just enough to whet your appetite. If you're looking for good food at a reasonable price, this is not the place to go. But, if you don't mind overpaying for food and you're there more for the ambience, this may just hit the spot.
We've dined here several times and the food has been good each time. But, we don't dine here that often due to the cost. Average brunch cost is $30/person w/o alcohol & you may still leave hungry."

"Shared, smaller plates of sturdy, flavor packed, vivid food that delights all the senses! Dining becomes more social and memorable as you choose food to try and share. Can order and reorder through meal letting delicious food carry you, complementing but not upstaging the event.
A little bit of noise dampening would help as conversation is all "lean - in" if you want to hear or be heard. Faded postal graphics on outside wall seem a little too theme forced,"

"This was my first time dining at the MB Post and it definitely lived up to all the great reviews I read about. Our table was in the front corner of the restaurant which definately added to the experience. We ordered a total of 4 dishes, 3 of which were suggestions from other friends. Everything was interesting, complex and delicious. They also offered a nice wine list to compliment the variety of dishes. Overall, we had a great experience and would definately return in the future."

"Took my wife and 2 daughters for a birthday brunch. Awesome food, chefs original take on breakfast standards. Loved the bacon cheddar biscuits with maple butter, corn beef cheeks hash, ricotta stuffed french toast, fried chicken with truffle laced honey, eggs benedict. Cant wait to find an excuse to introduce it to more friends and family. Not cheap but great for a special occasion or out of town guest."

"We had a wonderful time at Manhattan Beach Post! Our food server was very pleasant and knowledgable about the menu. The food was unique and flavorful. The shared dining style allowed one to try many different tastes. The history adds a fun touch in terms of learning that the location was an actual post office many years ago. The atmosphere is comfortable--a unique combination of gourmet food in a rustic setting. I would highly recommend it for food lovers."

"MBP is one of many restaurants taking advantage of the lure of small plates, letting guests experience more of the menu than with traditional courses. This generally is a favorite way to order for me, but in this case the fare sampled was so similar to each other that it all tasted the same. We love spice, and felt the dishes promised more than received. The restaurant was almost club like in volume, with patrons shouting at each other to be heard. Drinks seemed to be an important centerpiece, and though we didn't want to imbibe, it would be nice if restaurants offered interesting nonalcoholic concoctions from the bar. The waiter was good, and helpful with his recommendations. Overall an acceptable experience, but wouldn't go back."

"In an area bereft of good restaurants, MB Post is a fantastic option. Most items are really good, and the prices are not outrageous compared to MB Post's competitors. Reservations at a table provides a relatively quiet dining experience, but the community tables allow for walk-ins and last minute decision makers when reservations are unavailable. Service has always been patient and helpful given the variety in small-plate options. And the wine and cocktail lists are varied and interesting."

"This is a decent restaurant with high prices and a lot of street hype. The menu is extremely unique, I'll give them that. The expensive mixed drinks weren't all that great, and the tapas-sized portions were almost the price of a full entree. Service was sparse because the place was so busy. Using OpenTable to book the lunch was great. I'd go try MB Post again if it were about half the price and 2/3 the crowd."

"We were a party of six celebrating a birthday and the food, service and drinks couldn't have been better.
We were taken care of superbly, each and every dish was delicious (scallops were phenomenal) and the
drinks from the bar were excellent too.
Looking forward to going back. It is a rare restaurant that takes pride in its service when it is as hot as this one.

"We went there for brunch and the waiter said that the menu items were tapas style (small plates) so we ordered several dishes to share thinking they would be small -- the portions were larger than we expected so we ended up taking some food home. My favorites: the bacon cheddar buttermilk biscuits and the coffee (will go back specifically for these because they are that good!). The sticky buns were also very good (and sticky). Corned beef hash and the frittata (super-filling) were ok. The restaurant is in a space that used to be an old post office, hence the name. Comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Best to make reservations a few days in advance to ensure getting a table for Sunday brunch."

"MB Post was recommended by many. Upon arriving was surprised at the laid back feel of the place that was so appropriate for a beach town. The food, however, is not what you would expect in a beach town. Starting with the different bread selections, the homemade cheddar bacon biscuits are outstanding. I had the creatively prepared squid: the body was grilled; the tentacles, fried. It too was outstanding, tender and a great juxtaposition of textures. Great wine list and a friendly staff that really knows there stuff make this a must if you are anywhere in Southern Cal."
