Cipollina is a neighborhood bistro serving Mediterranean-inspired, locally-sourced food. Our seasonal menu features salads, small plates, large plates and wood-fired pizzas. We’re open for lunch and dinner daily. Reservations accepted and walk-ins also welcome.
"My experience at Cipollina was good. If you're looking for eating in a place with a café approach that doesn't require you to dress up or pay big $$ this is good place for this. Is located in good neighborhood of Austin, where you can feel comfortable surround by other great restaurants. Cipollina is a phenomenal place to grab a quick bite to eat like oven pizza, cheese with honey, and a glass of wine. If I would change something it would be for the restaurant to invest in an outdoor seating. After all it is Austin who doesn’t like to enjoy a delicouse glass of wine accompany by a tasty pizza enjoying the weather,"

"I took my mom for an early Mother's Day lunch and we loved it. Our table tried a sandwich, a pizza and a salad - all very tasty. I would definitely recommend this place."

"We chose to dine at dinner. The restaurant was busy for a Wednesday. They offered a special menu. We tried all they had to offer on that specific menu. The food tasted good however the portions were meager at best, especially considering the prices. The waitress seemed new or over-worked. It was hard to get her attention."

"Cipollina was a delightful treat! We attended to try out the menu for restaurant week, and will definitely be coming back for more. The food was delicious, the service was superb, and the neighborhood surrounding is lovely."

"This is our second time here and most likely our last. I ordered the seared tuna salad and it was horrible. The tuna was gray and in large chunks. Not pleasant at all, so needless to say I didn't have lunch."

"I've got to say, the food was not good this time. This is my wife's favorite spot and always her choice for birthdays and anniversaries but we both did not like the restaurant week entrees this time. We'll probably reduce the amount of times we come here because of this. Service was still top notch like always."

"Ginger champagne drink was disappointing, not a sharp enough ginger taste to be distinctive. Eggplant Benedict was good, the Swiss chard and eggplant a nice alternative to usual eggs Benedict, and the eggs were poached to perfection--slightly soft yolk in firm white. My brother said the steak hash was very good. We all liked the creme brûlée, and the citrus tart presented a tasty alternative to the usual--a citrus marmalade on top of a creamy layer."

"We went for lunch on a Sunday, and they did not have their lunch menu available. The brunch menu was good, but not what we were looking for. The food has been good every time I've been there. I like their lunch menu; we just didn't realize it wasn't available on Sundays."

"It has good pizza. They have an interesting set up, but wish the food was better. They try too hard to make it fancy and exotic rather than simple and good."

"Cipollina has some of the best food I can recall tasting. Grant it, we've only tried a few different pizzas and some appetizers the times we have been there. I will specify, Cipollina has the best pizza I have ever eaten, along with delicious salads and appetizers. Affordable prices to boot. If you are interested in amazingly delicious food for a fair price then look no further. Friendly staff, nice ambience etc. All good."

"We had a fantastic dinner at this lovely restaurant in a terrific Austin neighborhood. The menu was diverse and interesting, the wine list sparkled with some fresh and different selections, and the atmosphere and service were great. The food -- very good!"

"Went on Valentine's Day and were very happy. Planned on the set menu, diverted to their dinner menu and had a great meal. But their service was the real stand-out - samples of wine to help make a decision, unobtrusive but always there when needed, etc. Friendly but also very professional. We'll be back. Thanks!"

"I was actually a little disappointed in Cipollina given the reviews I'd read. Despite having a reservation we had to wait at the bar for 15 minutes, which wasn't a huge deal given that it was Valentine's day, but still. The food was...ok. I got the pork belly pizza, and maybe I'm just too sensitive to it, but boy oh boy the gorgonzola was much too salty for my tastes, especially in conjunction with the pork belly. The steak my date got was cooked med. rare but the outside was charred. Again, these are just opinions and one should keep in mind how busy they were given it was Valentine's Day, but I still was a bit disaapointed in the service and food quality. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't what I was expecting"

"It is difficult to find a quiet restaurant these days. The first time I went to Cipollina it was for a girl's night out and it was wonderful! It was quiet so we could enjoy conversation. The food and wine were superb. I went back this weekend with 4 adults and my 8 year old daughter before The Lion King. It was a Saturday night and I was surprised there were a number of families there. I was even more surprised it didn't change the wonderful ambiance of the place. As before, the food and wine were superb and my daughter loved her dish. It's amazing a place could be an excellent place for a girl's night out as well as one for a family! It truly is a neighborhood gym!"

"I loved my specially requested vegan dish.....quinoa and veggies. Except for the salt.....way too salty. I wish there were more choices for vegans on the menu. My husband loved the chicken and the rice patty under it."
