For over 13 years Siena has been Austin’s premier destination for authentic Tuscan cuisine. Chef Harvey Harris received his Master's Chef in Italian cuisine while attending culinary school in Piedmonte Italy, but his heart is in Tuscany where he lived and worked. All food at Siena is prepared to order, pasta is made fresh daily as well as all stocks and sauces. Tuscan food in general is gluten free so over 65% of their menu is always gluten free!. Utilizing local farms and ranches Chef Harvey sources out products that are hormone free, chemical free and natural for his menu. Our food is complemented by an award-wining wine cellar and served in rustic, elegant surroundings of thick stone walls and tall wood-beamed ceilings. Whether visiting for a light lunch, happy hour, special event, or a romantic evening, experience the welcoming charm of Tuscany close to home.
"Have dined there a number of times, and went there with family for an early Mother's Day Saturday dinner. Sat upstairs for first time, which is nice and more intimate, with only a few tables, but you don't get the full ambience and beauty (or hustle and bustle) of the main dining room. Our dishes were prepared and presented as we liked, although in all candor our rather high taste expectations for several new dishes as described were not realized. Service however was very knowledgeable and professionally friendly -- couldn't ask for more. Very enjoyable experience."

"Exceptionally well prepared meal that was delicious. Servers were very courteous and responded to our needs without being intrusive. Menu is well planned without being overloaded with typical "Americanized Italian Food Fluff". Wife and I visit Italy at least once a year so we are very familiar with Italian food and its preparation. We met the Chef, who trained in Italy and returns frequently to hone his skills. We are very critical when an establishment touts "Authentic Italian" and it turns out to be Americanized. Not so with Siena. We were not disappointed in our selections and finished meals fully satisfied. We fully intend to return with friends so that they may enjoy great Italian in Texas!"

"We've eaten at this restaurant many times before and have had very positive experiences. Mother's Day was totally different story. We had an OpenTable reservation, but we're told to wait almost 30 minutes before being seated in what looked to be a relatively empty restaurant. Once seated, it took us another 2.5 hours to get through appetizers and entrees. While the wait staff did their best, we were kept in the dark concerning the long times. We considered asking for the check after appetizers. The food was OK, but not what the restaurant is capable of delivering. I doubt that we'll be back for a large party event."

"My wife and I feel so blessed to have this wonderful restaurant in our neighborhood. Everything is always excellent. The waitstaff have been there for years. They know the menue, the wine, and always make you feel special. The wine tasting dinners are a treat too."

"I liked the arrangement of the tables around the main dinning room, I thought they were well separated from each other. Since this was our first time in this restaurant I thought I try the bruschetta with wild boar and mix grill vegetable as appetizer. That went well. I also ordered the stuff figs, big mistake, not good at all! We both liked the young greens with balsamic vinaigrette salad. For the main course I had the Pappardelle Cinghiale with wild boar, this was also a big mistake. I thought that pasta would have been fresh, but it wasn't. The other diner had the Cacciucco alla Livornese, that was good. For dessert we had the Torta di Cioccolata & coffee, that was also good."

"We brought in our out of town guests. Siena did not disappoint us. They are always predictable. After we enjoyed the daily special, we tasted the newly presented desserst - out of this world! We stayed an hour beyond the closing time. We were not rushed to leave the restuarant. Our hostess, Margrate treated us as her own guests and made special efforts to make our guests fell at home.
We appreciate the great food and excellent service."

"They stick with what they know well and always add in some new twists for your consideration. The food is always excellent. The pulled pork served brochette style on french bread is a great appetizer. They have two serving sizes. Just right and gorge yourself. Sometimes in life you need one or the other! The atmosphere is casual with a great bar and super comfortable place to drink wine w/friends near the fireplace in front. The location requires a beautiful drive along 2222 or 360."

"We were trying the restaurant again after having a not so good experience there a couple of years ago. We were seated upstairs in the balcony area which is lovely. The interior of the restaurant is authentically Tuscan and I especially love the bar area and fireplace. Our server was very nice (wish I could remember her name). She made it a very nice dining experience for us and for my mother who was celebrating a birthday. We used to go to this restaurant often and I am happy to have given it another try and I think it will now be one of our favorites again."

"Stepping into Siena makes you think you are in Italy. We ate lunch during Restaurant week and all four of us were pleased with our choices,(salmon and chicken). The food is good quality and well presented with healthy sides. I hope to return at another time to try some different menu offerings. Our server was very attentive."

"We were very disappointed in the service. It was extremely slow and not all that friendly. Perhaps they were shorthanded; it was a Sunday evening. However, since it was restaurant week, they should have been prepared to shine so that people would want to go back. The building and space was very charming and we will go back to give it one more chance, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone until we do."

"We went for the first time because of Austin Restaurant week. The meal was very good although the portions were much larger then I was expecting. So I walked out very full. We each tried to get something different so we could try multiple items I had the Bruchetta with Wild Boar Ragu and it was really good but it could have easily served 2. My boyfriend got the Speck salad which was also delicious. For our entrees he has the chicken which the waiter said they only make for restaurant week. It was very tasty and I had the Steak which was good as well but it was covered with green salad which made it more difficult to eat since it was a thin cut of meat. The chocolate Torte for dessert was rich and yummy and luckily a small portion."

"Had a wonderful lunch. I had a mussel appetizer with a sauce that was so good you wanted to use your fingers to get the last drop. That was followed with a nice portion of grilled salmon. All was cooked perfectly. My husband had a salad and then a wonderful chicken dish with a fantastic mushroom gravy. It was our first but not our last visit to this wonderful restaurant."

"I would recommend this restaurant to any man wanting to really impress his date. The food was as close to authentic as I have found since living in Northern Italy. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive without being bothersome. The interior of the restaurant reminded me of the wonderful gathering places I enjoyed in Italy with with all the wood, brick and stone, and especially the loft and wonderful fireplace. Truly a hidden treasure!"

"Went there as a small surprise celebratory dinner for my husband, when waitress brought up champagne (which was appreciated) we were charged for it. In the future, I'd suggest not asking if the patrons are celebrating something special & then make them pay for it! It's not that I expected something free, but it was obnoxious and shocking."

"Went on Valentine's Day, fixed menu that was outstanding. Not a miss on the entire menu, but the butternut squash soup was unbelievable - it was an early desert. Sat upstairs in the balcony area, which was both quiet and more intimate than downstairs - although near the fireplace downstairs would have its own charm. Just the right amount of food - sated but not stuffed."

"Valentines dinner Prix Fixe menu looked great with several choices but the portion sizes were small and honestly, the food was just ok. My wife had the tenderloin and I had the pork chop. I was disappointed with the food but the restaurant had a wonderful ambiance and the staff were top notch. I was a bit surprised as everyone I talked to said Siena was amazing. I'm sure I'll go back sometime but considering dinner and a bottle of wine was almost $300 we should have loved it. I think I'm done with Prix Fixe menus restaurants. The other thing that rubbed me the wrong was was calling me 4-5 days in advance for my credit card. I get it, but it just bugged me thinking the hostess is writing my credit card information down on a piece of paper."

"First of all, the food was great. No complaints there. However, our waitperson was rushing us through what should have been a romantic Valentine's dinner. She was also way too chatty - starting up conversations almost each time she visited the table. I found the wines-by-the-glass list unexciting. We were seated in a corner in a room with an elliptical ceiling, so it wasn't long before I started hearing the private conversations of those that were seated in two other corners - almost as if they were talking on a mic directly into my ear! So, that made us paranoid about our conversation. All in all, not a good Valentine's experience."

"I have never had a bad meal here. We took our 8 and 11 year old, while it worked just fine it is not a place to take wild children. As long as your kids can sit and talk or draw they will be fine. It is loud enough to cover noise from your table. They were very accommodating with making dishes for my kids off the menu."

"I love fresh pasta and the pasta dishes were delicious. Mussels were fresh and plentiful. The fish of the day - was prepared boring and was small portion - wouldn't order again. We were a family of seven and were able to get comfortable, cozy seating by the fireplace (it was in the 30s - so was very appreciated)."

"Brought a VIP in, and asked for a quiet spot near a power plug (for his computer which I knew would need juice). The hostess had it all arranged, the food was amazing, our waiter didn't OVER or UNDER serve us - perfection.
The food was CRAZY good, also - fig stuffed w/ goat cheese wrapped in prosciutto ... and the 'cheap' $50 supertuscan was also fab."

"Service was excellent. We were seated in a quiet little area just perfect for a romantic date. Fireplaces were roaring on a chilly evening so the ambience was perfect. The food was very good although it didn't blow me away. I have been here other times and liked the food more so I think it was just my particular choice that evening."
