"Harding's has it all going on - great food, great ambiance, great service. Our server didn't rush us out the door and we were able to have a fantastic conversation along with our delicious meal which was appreciated. The fig toast is a must. The Atlantic bronzini was flavorful and fresh. The house salad was accompanied by a delicious vinaigrette. We left the restaurant thoroughly impressed with happy stomachs and smiles on our faces."

"Fresh well prepared food, served by attentive but not overbearing weight staff in a sophisticated but comfortable NYC space. The deboned short ribs were my favorite dish, cooked long enough to develop an intense flavor and melt in your mouth texture. The house salad, greens with a lemony lemon vinaigrette, is refreshing and I could have been happy with that for a lunch meal. The music was a bit too loud and we asked that it be turned down. No fuss, the sound was immediately turned down and the four of us older folks, with hearing problems, were easily able to have a conversation. This is the perfect place for the younger generation to take their parents."

"Had such a great meal here, the service was outstanding! Not sure what the bar scene is like because I believe there was a birthday party, but it was for sure energetic!! Would definitely recommend and go back again and again."

"We went there for a birthday celebration. The bar was bustling and very noisy but by 9pm all was quiet in that area. The food was good and the service was attentive.the place is pretty with a nice ambiance. We made the reservation through open table and gave special instructions to put a candle in whatever dessert we ordered. They either didn't see it or didn't give the waitress a heads up. Overall nice place. Would definitely go back."

"My food originally arrived cold. The server was great about it. The second round, my plate was warmer but the dish was bland and the group I was with agrees that in general their food wasn't memorable either. Great decor and ambiance. Our server was fantastic."

"For the price, the food was not that great, I had to send my short ribs back because they were over cooked. Our server took it away and had to go ask someone what to do. Gramercy is a place full of great restaurants and just because you moved to this location doesn't mean your prices have to be that high. I mean if they are that high at least have good food. The servers had little experience and often just standing around talking to each other while the manager or owners were setting tables etc etc. If you were there and needed a drink you should wait 20 minutes. The place was great looking, but acoustics were horrible. I think the servers should take a lesson from Danny Meyers staff on how a restaurant should be run."

"I notice it's packed at cocktail hour. I went at lunch three times and it's empty. It's a fantastic lunch. BEST burger in NYC. Really. It's convenient to Union Square and in the Flatiron. A block from 456/NR. Excellent waiter. Owner on the spot."

"My bf and I went to Hardings on a Monday night for dinner. There was no one in the restaurant eating but a few people having drinks at the bar. I was worried that no one was there but all of the food was excellent. The fig and goat cheese toast is divine. I love the pickled veggies they bring for the table. Both my scallops and my bf's short rib were super tasty. The dessert we had was some sort of moon shine pancake, also delicious. To top it off, we received two cookies with our bill. The service was outstanding, granted there was no one else there but I was pleased that everything so so well done. Would definitely go back. Meal is not cheap, but it is good."

"Title says it all. The lighting, exposed brick, and worn black paint with a cool American History theme make this place a great spot for a night out. Ask about sitting upstairs with a group. Comfortable chairs for having a drink up front. Good wrap-around bar with lots of room and excellent bartenders.
Some fun and tasty food choices."

"I loved this restaurant and would definitely go back. The atmosphere was great, loved the vintage look. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. And the food was soooo good! I got the short ribs and they were amazing! This is definitely my new favorite restaurant."

"What a mess. Wait staff is terrible unorganized and not professional at all. our meal was a series of mistakes. Served raw root veggies that were then too hot when reheated and still not cooked. This held up our eating together and ruined our meal. Prices are high for low quality selections. Ariel Fox should take a look at the huge staff she had all doing nothing before she is closed as the two who tried it before her in this space."

"The food was pretty tasty but the service leaves a bit to be desired. The drinks took a long time to arrive at the table (they said they had to go get a new bottle of wine from downstairs after we asked about it after 10 minutes but I think they forgot...at the very least they should have said something). Then, my friend's salad was either forgotten or just took forever to arrive with the other appetizers (all of which were the warm ones that arrived sooner than the salad that did not have to be cooked). Short ribs were good but they put the potato over the short rib rather on the side which we did not like. One dinner arrived later than all the rest. Would probably not go back except for maybe a drink in the lounge/bar."

"Waited twenty five minutes for one order of dessert which was chocolate pudding (this was after we already requested the check and said we were in a hurry). Just as we were about to leave, the manager came over to apologize and handed us his business card and said next time we come, first round is on him. Otherwise, the food and drinks were enjoyable."

"Well decorated new American style restaurant in trendy area of NYC. Very pleasant wait staff. Perhaps the kitchen was having a bad night, but the service was really slow. My starter was tomato soup, for which there was a 25 minute wait. A bread plate was not offered. Looking around, most tables were waiting for their meals. Good business model for the wine cellar and bar, I suppose."

"This may not be optimal for a dinner of older adults who want to converse because the room is large, sound bounces off the bare walls, and the music is loud. We had a good time, though, with an unusual menu of appetizers, entrees, and desserts, and a good and well priced wine list. The short ribs were especially good, as was the shared banana split. Good service. We will return but hope the music can be turned down two or three notches when we are there."

"The tomato soup should be marketed as THE REPLACEMENT for Campbell's, it's that good. Very nice house salad, short ribs and stuffed eggplant were our selections. Young, action-filled, evening crowds. My only complaint is the loud music should be pumped only in the front half of the space, not the rear (dining) area. Table conversations can be challenging."

"Bring your patience with you. Every step of the way. It took 30 minutes to get someone to take our order (after asking three times!) and it took more than an hour for our appetizers to come out. Not to mention the additional half-hour wait between appetizers and entrees! Ruined the experience of the unique and tasty food. By the time it finally came, we were so hungry, we just scarfed it down instead of savoring!"

"It's just too loud. I was hoarse by the end of dinner, and there were just too of up at a two-top. The totally gave us the wrong appetizers, which was fine, as it was all good - - but a bit haphazard."

"Food, service, ambiance were all very good. Grilled toast appetizer with goat cheese, figs, and rosemary was scrumptious. Burgers fantastic, short ribs amazing. The Griddle Cake dessert was the best of all sampled. My only complaint: it is an all-American restaurant and they do not have any Scotch at their bar. Had to settle for a boubon that was as 'close to a scotch experience that we can offer'. Not bad, but not Balvenie."

"Making money off booze, the bar dominates the restaurant and noise level makes it hard to have a conversation. My chicken dish was tasty but the potato side dish had half-cooked potatoes. Banana split was pretty good but not enough ice cream in it for $12. I won't go back. Lots of frat boy types and/or B&T."

"Easy choice here -- three visits and everything has been excellent for lunch. The tomato soup is an excellent warmup as are the roasted vegetables. The chicken breast, hamburger and turkey sandwich have been the stars thus far. A friend said the dinner menu short ribs are also stars"

"First visit was very positive. The food and menu are very good. The opening tomato soup was good enough for my guest to rave. My salad was fresh, covered with a nice array and very tasty. I had an excellent burger and his sandwich was worthy of praise. There was much to consider on the menu and I will return for more."
