Morrell's is an upscale wine bar offering the largest wine by-the-glass list in New York City complemented by serious yet unpretentious, European American food. In the summer, an outdoor cafe provides a relaxing oasis in the heart of Manhattan, while the wintertime offers a ground level view of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree.
"Morrell's is good for sitting outside in nice weather for a nice glass of wine. The food is relatively awful. If you want better French food walk across the ice skating plaza to Ruhlman's; however, the wine selection is not nearly as good there."

"Want a great brunch? Go here. No crowds on Sunday, great food, best wine list by the glass in the city! When we first went here years ago, we were concerned it was a tourist trap because it's at Rockefeller Center. Nothing could be farther from the truth. If you like wine and great food, give this place a shot. Sit at the bar if it's crowded and do the people watching thing while you drink Opus by the glass. Actually, try something a little less well known but equally satisfying. this place will surprise you: it surprised us."

"The wine bar experience was excellent with some great wines at fair prices. We were able to try a somewhat difficult to find Etna Rosso and go next door to the store and buy it at a discount. Staff is well-informed and friendly. Regarding the food, while a bit pricey, the pork ragu with pappardelle was excellent. All components came together perfectly. The mushroom risotto however was uninspiring. (The proper making of risotto seems to be a lost art.) It was little more than under cooked rice that had absorbed little of the liquid. And the liquid which had been billed as a burgundy seemed to be missing the wine. The mushrooms were good but the truffles lacked the characteristic flavor. Disappointing but definitely would try again."

"This place is only a block from my office and a frequent lunch spot for me. I love their tiny pork tacos and their fabulous by-the-glass wine list. It's crowded and friendly downstairs - a little more subdued upstairs."

"I've been to Morrell many times and it now feels as thought hey are in their sunset. Satisfying the palattes of the tourist set seems satisfy Morrell's requirements. It feels like they are interested in getting by, not pleasing their foodie patrons. We found the food so-so. So-so sad."

"Choice Morrell Wine Bar and Cafe becasue it was restaurant week and I like to try different restaurants. The menu for restaurant week was lacking, not a very good selection. Restaurant is too small and get very crowded after work."

"Excellent service, very accommodating. A friend and I split five glasses of different wines (ie, we got an extra glass with each wine), decent pours for each glass, allowing a nice variety of tasting for a reasonable overall cost. Morrell's has the best selection of wines by the glass we could find in mid-town. Has a nice variety of hors d'oeuvres that go well with various wines."

"Its Restaurant Week menu was one of the worst menus in the program. The selection was limited and consisted of cheaper items and the entrees were appetizer size. Two thumbs down as a Restaurant Week choice."

"I did not like the food from their special pre-fix menu for the restaurant's week. The tables were not covered with linens which made the whole atmosphere and apperance of the restaurant not as cozy as it could be. The service was good enough. I would not come back because of the food."
