"The folks at Raaga (formerly Saffron of Chapel Hill) are amazing. It's the same owners and chef as before, just with some re-branding and slight tweaks to the menu. The food is the best you can find in the triangle, and everything I've had over the years has been absolutely delicious."

"Each time I go I seem to find something else I fall in love with. I rarely venture beyond my favorite dish at a restaurant. I urge you to go places you might not on this menu. Raaga continues to satisfy!"

"We had a family dinner at Raaga for Mother's Day and our experience was exceptional. The food and drinks were top notch. For drinks we had the Bollywood Lights and the Early Indian Summer to start. The wine list was also reasonable with a good selection. The pappadums and and naan were remarkable alongside the appetizers. Entrees were reasonably priced and quite flavorful. Both lentil dishes were outstanding. The vegan coconut ice cream however was insanely good. I would highly recommend this to our friends. Good for out of towners and Indian food experts as well."

"We had arrived at the restaurant at 11.30 am since we had made an online reservation for that time, only to see that the restaurant actually doesn't open till noon. However, the staff called us and made special accommodations for us to be able to dine even though they were not open yet. Food as always is spectacular."

"We had a marvelous experience, starting with our server, who was great and suggested that we were ordering too much (how rare!). She was right about that, as well as about recommending one of the two appetizers we were considering (banana pepper). That dish and one of the two main courses we ordered (eggplant) were fabulous; the fish main we ordered was fine but not to write home about."

"Food was great. However, we ordered drinks before dinner and wine with our dinner and the wine came out before the drinks. This was unusual and if I knew this I would not have ordered a drink. Also, the table had crumbs on it after the dinner was over and we felt the table should have been cleaned first before we ordered dessert."

"You have to try this strange concoction Raaga has created for lunch - some kind of an indian sandwich to die for. They call it Murge K Parche - it's like a naan indian chicken sandwich. Wow! Thanks you for whatever this is - I love it."

"Our party of four frequents all of the local Indian restaurants. We thought the food was good, although not outstanding considering the price.. For example, a fish entree was quite good, but the accompanying vegetables, which were steamed broccoli and carrots, had no flavor. Also, cocktails were expensive---$10 for a Maritini and $11 for a Cosmopolitan. Our opinions on the other entrees and appetizers were mixed. The decor was lovely and the tables were large enough so we had privacy and were very comfortable."

"Nothing special. We had requested a booth in the back, but they gave us a table right next to the door. Whenever the door opened, the decorative sheet they used as a divider blew right onto us. We moved without a problem. Our waiter was doing double duty as a bartender, nonetheless he was attentive, if not a little slow with the drinks, which were good, but only filled up about 3/4 of the glass. It looks like we were comped for 2 drinks. The food was good, but nothing outstanding."

"Outstanding Indian food, many entrees and dishes not found elsewhere. Almost all done and presented to perfection. The two soups on the menu are a disappointment and should be avoided. Excellent bar and their special cocktails are worthwhile if you like that kind of thing."

"Loved this place when it was Saffron, so I was a little nervous that Raaga wouldn't live up to my expectations, but it exceeded them! They have very unique and delicious signature drinks and the food....there aren't words. This is the best Indian restaurant in the triangle and I can't wait to go back and try other dishes!"

"This place takes the indian dining experience to a whole new level. Try any of the traditional indian dished and you will be blown away. Try some of the more fusion dishes and you will crave the place."

"Raaga was great. Every bit as good as when it was Saffron. Food and service were outstanding. My only complaint was the uncontrolled young kids running around and making far too much noise for a fine dining experience. Of course this is not the restaurants fault which is why I still give it a great rating."

"Nice dining environment and courteous wait staff. Food is good to outstanding but one should be aware that some of their menus could be very hot(spicey hot that is.) The menu does not indicate which ones are mild and which ones are not. I will not order Biriany because it was not what I expected it to be being an Indian person who loves biryani. But, over all, its a fine dining experience although a bit pricey."

"Very good food, but the service staff are what shine in this restaurant. Our waitress was one of the most knowledgeable and friendly servers we've experienced in decades of fine dining. We even commented that she should have her own restaurant."

"The food was good with several novel dishes. The diners in my party noted some inconsistency with overall quality. Based on the price rating, we found the restaurant to be very expensive for an Indian restaurant. Appetizers ranged from $7-$12 with main course being $18-$25. Add in an additional $7-$8 for dessert and you have an expensive meal for an Indian restaurant."

"The food was, as usual, absolutely wonderful. The service was a bit off. We sat for long periods at a time waiting for our dishes. I think it was an "off" night for them because they are usually very attentive without being intrusive. It was a Sunday evening so maybe that had something to do with it.
We still enjoyed our special dinner and will definitely return. Still highly recommend this restaurant."

"This was my wife and my single worst restaurant experience of our lives. We waited more than an hour at our table before our drinks were brought and more than two for our entrées. When they came, they were so overcooked as to be nearly inedible. We so wish we'd gotten a pizza for Valentine's, even a frozen one would have been better than what we had.I have so many complaints I don't feel it's worth my time to write then all down."

"Raaga is breaking into the Chapel Hill scene with amazing change and innovation in traditional indian cuisine. By far the best indian cuisine in 500 miles. This place is one to watch. Definitely soon to be one of Chapel Hills best, not just best indian, THE best. What an amazing place!"
