Twenty9 is the newest success from partners Stephen Scutti and Executive Chef Edwin Tietjen, whose jointly-owned restaurant in Media, PA (Stephen's) has been topping the charts since 2003. Now, in concert with Patricia Archie, they have joined forces again to debut Twenty9, an upscale Malvern retreat located in the Great Valley Corporate Center. At 7,000 square feet, this two-level destination is a combined fine-dining restaurant, casual sports bar, and special event venue - all conveniently situated under a single roof. By day, Twenty9 accommodates the thriving businesses in the corporate center and surrounding areas, offering dine-in and delivered lunches, as well as lunch buffets. By night, Twenty9 dons its chic after-dark persona, with a focus on Happy Hour socializing, live music, and leisurely dining overlooking a landscaped panorama. From contemporary dining on the main floor to a sports bar on the lower level, to live music, Twenty9 provides the ideal setting for everyone!
"Seafood chowder was a big hit, lots of fresh clam, lobster, crab meat. Spare rib was healthy size and lean, scallops also delicious. Creative wine list, loved the russian river red zinfandel. Service was courteous though not exceptional. Only issue is the chairs are just not very comfortable, especially for an 83-yo Mom."

"I enjoyed having dinner here. The service was very fast and efficient, especially for a Saturday night. We split the sausage flatbread, which was delicious and plenty for two. The scallops were heavenly! I would definitely return for those. The ahi tuna was delicious as well. The plates were presented beautifully and the portions were just right."

"We went to 29 on Saturday night, it as not busy. We sat at the bar for a cocktail and ordered the cheese board for an appetizer. The board was excellent, We ordered 1 cheese and 1 meat. Included on the board was toast points, mustard, pretzels, gherkins, olives and jam. Very nice. We sat down for dinner and ordered our entree. I ordered the scallops and my husband order the sea bass. The food was excellent. We loved everything about the dinner with one exception. We order dinner and it was on our table in less than 7 minutes. We like to linger over dinner and I was really surprised at fast service. Bottom line love the food and it is very casual, easy place to go. We will visit again."

"The Chatterband was in the bar area. It was very difficult to talk to the people you were with. Then it started raining and the noise from the tin roof just added to the volume of the resturant. The food was Excellent and the service very good.
Unfortunately we would not go back in a hurry. To pay the prices of the resturant and not be able to hold a converstation leaves no choice but NOT to go back."

"We had eaten there before, but it had been a several months. We remembered having good food. This time was different. We were ushered through a noisy bar area then seated next to a noisy group of ladies having an after work dinner. Our waiter was also handling that large table and the service showed. We were a definite afterthought. We had to ask about the specials. Somehow our food was ready within 10 minutes of ordering, which makes me question freshness. This was a disappointing experience for any restaurant, let alone one that charges the prices of a much nicer establishment. We won't be back."

"Our daughter celebrated her 18th birthday. Very good food, however table was really tight and close to entrance, so it was crowded. But overall a great meal."

"Waitress was very nice and helpful, but it took forever for our food to arrive. Wait time between courses was far too long. We ordered a few items from the raw bar for an appetizer. It was over an hour from our seating until our main entrees arrived. Service would have received an "very good" rating had it not been for the timing issues.
Food was very good. Raw bar was very fresh and delicious.
Don't go on a Friday night unless you are up for an incredibly noisy experience. They have a live band out on the deck. Even in the dining room far from the deck, the base will literally vibrate your body. It was very unpleasant. Our waitress informed us that this was a Friday-night only activity."

"Very good food. Service could have been a little better, we were never asked if we wanted a second drink. Did not see server very much after order was taken, although other employees attentive with water and clearing table."

"I went for my reservation time and no one was there. The parking lot was empty, the doors were locked and when I called there was no answer. I waited til ten after two. My reservation was at 2pm. Also, there are no hours for the restaurant on the website or at the restaurant."

"Being Easter Sunday, you know that the meal will likely be a buffet or a limited menu. We knew in advance that it would be a buffet. We were very pleased with the selection and variety of foods. All of the hot entrees were very well prepared and constantly refreshed. Notably the eggs benedict did not fare well...the English muffin was dry and hard, but the egg was very fresh. Otherwise, everything was very good. Some of the desserts did suffer from sitting out a bit too long. This would be our only complaint. Overall, a very pleasant experience. We would go again."

"We recently enjoyed our second dinner at Twenty9. We enjoyed our entrees, but the menu is a bit limited if you have fairly basic tastes. The wedge salad was a stand-out;I'm definitely ordering that again next time! Our server was exceptional. The patio room decor is nice but could be more inviting/attractive for the price point of this establishment. Noise level, especially on a Friday evening, is high. For a quiet romantic dinner go elsewhere. The main dining room is great if you like to people-watch or watch TV while you dine. In summary, Twenty9 is absolutely worth a try to find out if it suits your needs or not."

"Many outstanding & innovative dishes! Try the lobster mac & cheese - an innovative and delicious dish. We only wish there were enough demand to return whole branzino, a true gem & done so well, fileted & cleaned tableside, to the regular menu."

"We enjoyed our first restaurant experience at Twenty9. An early Sunday evening was the perfect setting for us to unwind from the week...and to prepare for the week. The scenic view was very soothing, and music (Motown Oldies) was great and not too loud.
Overall, we were very pleased."

"Service was HORRIBLE. Reservation for 7pm, we were seated promptly with a bar menu but no dinner menu. It was 7:15 before our waiter took a drink order and 7:30 before we got menus. Drinks arrived @7:40 and our orders taken @ 7:45. Oysters were awesome but that was about it. We watched several table seated after us get their dinners and leave before we even got our meals. The table next to us was seated at 7:30, got their meals and on desert before we got our meals. They felt bad. Several tables having the same issues as us. Meal was not the best. Kept hearing how kitchen was backed up. Talked to Mgr who said she'd do something on the check but in the end we paid full price with nothing taken off. Very disappointing."

"Though it sits in the midst of a corporate center, Twenty9 is wonderful! We dined for Valentine's Day and found their steaks to be excellent, their service superb and the back room (where we were seated) was only moderately noisy (the front area is definitely more noisy and the bar area looks busy and fun). We were also surprised to discover they have sushi, specialty mixed drinks, occasional live music and brunch. We will definitely dine there again."

"Seafood Chowder was very good and my dining partner had a seafood pasta she enjoyed very much. I had a steak topped with crab imperial and unfortunately, the steak was undercooked and tough to cut. I believe I would try another entree the next time. 29 does not appear to be a steak place."

"This was our 2nd time to the restaurant, and enjoyed it as much as the 1st time. I had an 18oz bone in ribeye which was great, cook to medium rare perfection. Nice semi-buttery flavor, and a nice cut of meat, not fatty or gristley. My wife had the diver scallops, also cooked expertly. Scallops can easily be over or under cooked, but not here. The veggies and potatoes with the ribeye were seasoned very well, but the risotto with the scallops was not as flavorful as expected. It was still good however. The restaurant is a converted barn, and it was a very cold day outside. We were surpised how comfortably warm it was throughout the restaurant. The wait staff was extremely pleasant and friendly. We would come back again."

"We enjoyed our dinners at Twenty9; the food was flavorful and well-prepared. But we had just two small complaints: First our entrees were warm, but not hot. Second, we felt very rushed through our courses. My husband and I were still finishing our appetizers when they brought our main courses, and for such a nice place, you'd think they would have better timing."

"We have been to the Twenty9 twice and it only seems to get better each time. The menu is creative, eclectic and simply outstanding; and the waitstaff is pleasant, professional and attentive. They were up-beat and cheery and even "got" all my bad jokes. Doesn't get any better! A "Bucket List entrée" for sure!"

"Completely ridiculous seating situation and rude hostess. If reservations are required for any seating, then it should be stated up front. Plenty of open tables and open reservations, but the hostess directed us to wait at the bar until a table opened up, and never took our name. After 30 minutes, I made a reservation on OpenTable, and only because of that, were we seated within minutes. We noticed several other groups had the same issue, and were equally annoyed. Food was okay, but we won't be going back again."

"Tried Twenty9 for the first time on a Thursday evening. Our waitress was wonderful! (Props to Christy.) The food was pretty good, with the exception of the truffle mashed potatoes. In my opinion, truffle anything is strong, but that was overwhelming and not in a good way. My husband got the lamb chops and said they were tasty and cooked perfectly. I got the lobster mac and cheese, which was good, but very rich and had very little flavor. They sat us at a table in the bar area and it was pretty loud, but was a nice atmosphere! Our next visit, we try the steaks..."

"Went to Twenty9 for an early lunch (11AM) with 2 colleagues. Picked it based on the early opening that we needed. They offer a lunch buffet for $11.99 per person. My 2 colleagues picked the buffet and seemed to enjoy it. I had the fish taco - which was actually a fish wrap. Not bad but the fish was fried and there were multiple sauces on it which was too many conflicting flavors. I also had the French Onion Soup which was very good. Service was solid. The upstairs dining room is very classy and clean. I'll be checking it out for dinner one night soon."

"I had a delicious dinner with some friends. The atmosphere was nice. The waitress was friendly and helpful, but the service was a little slow. If you like a crowded atmosphere, I think you need to go to Twenty9 during the week as its in a Corporate Center. We went on a weekend on a snowy night and it was perfect."

"This was our third visit to Twenty 9, we think the food is outstanding. We ordered the filet mignon special all three times and it was very tasty. We enjoy the atmosphere on the porch, nice and cozy. The music could have been a bit lower and the service was average. Our server could have been more attentive.Overall we really like the restaurant."
