"The food was just above average, but it was a beautiful day to sit outside. Right on the pond, it's a great location, especially if you take a walk around the park after eating."

"Visited with my family for a pre-Mother's Day celebration at Pond House this weekend and had a good experience overall.
The menu is super diverse, lots of colorful Asian and Southwestern-inspired dishes so everyone was able to find something they liked. Terrific ambiance and the patio is stunning on a sunny day.
Our servers were friendly but a little bit more lax than we would've liked. We had to request straws, water and refills on drinks several times, and it took a while for us to receive both our appetizers and our entrees."

"We went to the Pond House for lunch on a beautiful day so we could sit outside. It was lovely out there. Our expectations were high, having been to the Pond House for special events. Unfortunately, the menu and food were disappointing. We rated the food a 5 out of 10. Our server was very good and it was pleasant to just sit outside."

"This was our second visit to the Pond House Cafe. Once again, the service was excellent. The food, though, was not as good as our first visit. One person in our party ordered the pork. The meat was cooked properly (not overdone), but there was so much demi glace, it was overpowering. The Brussels sprouts were also underdone and hard. I had the steak, which was OK, but I wouldn't order it again. I still love PHC and will go back -- probably to try brunch next time."

"I was disappointed. When I made the reservation I had requested a specific table for my girlfriend and I that we sat at the first time we ate brunch there. We were the only people besides another couple in the restaurant at 10:30 in the morning and the staff had sat the other couple at the one table I asked to be reserved. With no one else there I was disappointed that we did not have, what I considered the best seat in the room, overlooking the pond and in the corner so it would be more secluded. I was not happy about the service and the blatant disregard for my request. I hope this is not something that happens often as most people like myself would be unhappy. The service and food was to my satisfaction, however we were the only ones..."

"I always like the Pond House, but this time the service was not great. They forgot to add an item to my lunch. After several attempts to get the servers attention without success, I got up and told someone about the missing item. It was added promptly. It was avocados that was meant to be an addition to my salad."

"This was our second visit. Even tho' the diningroom was busy both time, it wasn't really noisy. Our waitress was delightful. She was enthusiastic about the food and knew what she was serving. The food is delicious. The presentation is very pretty. There is a good variety of foods to choose from and they are just a bit out of the ordinary."

"As usual, my visit to the Pond House was delightful. My sister and I shared the pear salad and my favorite - the turkey sandwich - and were pleased with each. The service was great as was the environment. My sister is a gourmet cook and she was impressed! Loved the ipad menus and the Jackie O print which added to the total experience. The Pond House continues to be my favorite spot for dining with friends and family."

"Our last visit was disappointing. The dessert was not prepared correctly. In its place we received two desserts to be shared among four people. I think we should have received four desserts individually plated.
A similar experience occurred another time. This happened to other diners who were very disappointed with their entrees. They left without eating."

"Nice ambience, interesting menu options. The food prices were reasonable but I ordered a burger and it was undercooked - and the "wine by the glass" prices were extremely high."

"I never write these reviews but The Pound House has fed my family for 8 years and for greater than three quarters the Sundays each year. We moved here from Manhattan and our family longed for our favorite brunch haunts. Consistently high quality, well prepared and presented food. New and innovative menu additions and old favorites adorn their android tablet menus. Service is responsive and management (Kim) engaged, friendly and very present. A pleasure to dine al fresco overlooking pond or inside the contemporary restaurant. The Pond House receives my highest recommendation."

"I've always loved the Pond House and its magical garden setting (especially in spring and summer), but the food at our last brunch (when we brought an out-of-town guest!) was just "so so". Not up to the usual Pond House standards. Hope this was a one time thing."

"The staff was a little....gruff? Friendly but not TOO friendly. Kind of awkward. But other than that everything was beautiful - I'd definitely go back. The grounds are lovely and I bet in the Spring/Summer they're simply gorgeous."

"Everything was delicious except the dry pheasant. The service was excellent--all the other orders were perfect--duck, seafood stew, appetizers and salads. I was so excited to see pheasant on the menu that when I tasted it and realized how dry it was, I didn't want to admit to myself how disappointing the entree was! So I said nothing!"

"A unique setting and menu, which was very appealing and fun. Instead of toast they serve cornbread with their plates which was definitely unique to me but I enjoyed the sweetness with my meal. We ordered the Pound House Benedict, Huevos Rancheros, and Vegetable omelette which were all excellent! Very reasonably priced. I would come back again!!!"

"We were seated in the larger room, which lacks any charm. The table for our party of three was a smallish folding affair, and we had to rearrange our seats to try and avoid the metal leg braces underneath - somewhat uncomfortable. The food was good and the service attentive however, which made up for things."

"Everything was excellent: the food, the service, the atmosphere. My partner ordered the entree special, which was skate (a type of fish that tastes surprisingly like crab) with risotto. It was so good, I was disappointed I hadn't ordered it, too. As others have noted, the duck confit quesadilla is delicious. The salads are also good; I had the roasted pear salad. We also really appreciated that you can bring your own wine ($5 corkage fee per bottle). Our server was great. She was very attentive without being intrusive. The Pond House is an excellent find. We'll be back!"

"Nothing special. 2 lobster mac and cheese dishes had to be sent back because of cold lobster. I ordered scallops, waitress came back and said "out of scallops'. She suggested I try seafood combo which had talapia, shrimp and guess what? that's right scallops. Of course she came back and asked if it was all right to substitute lobster for scallops. Lobster was waaaaay over cooked and tough. Oh well. It's just a meal. Maybe when the weather is better and the ambiance of the fresh air and roses is prevalent it will make the food seem better. Not to be totally critical, the beet salad and flat bread appetizers were quite good."

"My husband and I were a bit disappointed with the selections. We are vegetarians and there was little on the menu for us. The lunch menu offered more selections. The seafood that was offered was farmed raised so that was also not acceptable. WOuld love to have had the mac and cheese with lobster but it was not available. Your only pasta dish had suasage."
