"Perfect spot for a meal before a show at the Beacon. Interesting cocktail list. On this visit, however, a few of us were there for brunch. Lots of choices in both the lunch-ish and breakfast-based categories. Service was fine, we could have used a bit more attention, but nothing problematic."

"I had read some reviews that were iffy on YELP but after walking by one night decided to give it a chance yesterday. We went for our daughter's graduation and I have to say it was all good. The sushi, the salad and the chips and very unusual but good salsa. The food was good; my pork chop was juicy and tasty and it came with some good mashed potatoes and veggies.. all for $21.00 a good buy. Dessert wasn't anything special though, tasted like a packaged apple pie and I was dissapointed that the table next to ours got a candle on their cakes for the graduates and my daughter who was wearing the Columbia gown AND I had told them in my reservation it was her graduation, got nothing.."

"Citrus is a great place to have dinner before seeing a show at the Beacon Theater. It is not only conveniently located but they have terrific drinks and a really good choice of food. Would recommend it for a quick bite or a full meal. Our new go-to place."

"We visited Citrus prior to a show at the Beacon Theater based on reviews and were happy with our choice. The majority of food was excellent, the only exceptions were the chopped salad which was ok, but maybe prepared a little too soon prior to serving and the bread pudding was also just ok. The service was excellent; we were especially happy that we weren't rushed as we are many times in restaurants near entertainment with prix fixe options."

"I'd been to Citrus for dinner and don't remember being incredibly impressed, but I went there for brunch over the weekend and am so glad that I did. Food-wise, it was one of the best brunches I've had in my ten years in Manhattan (which is saying something), and the service was solid. If you sent in the front, it's a bright and airy space, and it wasn't crazy noisy even though there were a lot of kids seated around us. The prices are also great, especially considering that both a cold and hot drink come with the entrees. I'll definitely be coming back!"

"We have been here several times before, this was our second time for brunch. The food is certainly outstanding considering the price. Don't know of a better deal on the UWS for brunch. Our bill was less than $50 for 3 people including their complimentary drinks. And it wasn't just omelets, but a varied selection. Everyone in the place is friendly and helpful. We will certainly be back."

"This was an old favorite of mine from years ago. I wanted to bring my husband along. We brought along our newborn son who was sleeping the whole time and a friend met us for a drink. The hostess and maitre'd were completely rude to us. We had a reservation yet they told us we had to be out by 7pm. We will absolutely not go back to this restaurant. For the price, there are def. better restaurants in Manhattan."

"Thought I'd try a new restaurant Friday night and found The Citris Bar & Grill on OpenTable. The food was very good and the service prompt and friendly. Get there by 6PM because the place fills up fast. It's a bit noisy so not fit for a quiet romantic evening. Seems to be a popular neighborhood spot and also close to the famous Beacon Theatre. I would go again. They have an interesting menu."

"If you are going to the Beacon this is a good choice. Since it is always noisy inside, why not take advantage of the street scene and eat outside ---which is also noisiy, I might add. Apps were better than mains -- more interesting too. A Lime shrimp quesadilla was terrific. My Tuna was somewhat overcooked (wanted it medium rare -- came out medium), but ok. Looks to me like the sushi may have been a better choice. In all, location, location, location! -- for the Beacon, that is!"

"I made a reservation for my family for easter sunday. Upon arriving the hostess was nice and sat us at the table, thats when it wrnt downhill. The server waited a good five minutes to come to ask if we wanted drinks by saying "are you ready?" No hello how are you guys, very cold. My dad was parking the car and arrived a few minutes after but it took the server another 5-10 minutes. After we ordered our food, it took a while so we needed re fills, not once did the server or busboy acknowledge our empty water glasses and beverages. I finally saw him grab a bowl of soup and sit down to eat near where the sushi person was standing! I finally another waiter to fill our drinks. Then there was no dessert. We should have left."

"The food is fantastic at this wonderful neighborhood spot next to the Beacon theater. We were there on a Saturday night, and their sliding doors were not open yet for Spring, but will be. The trade off to the open doors is the noise on Amsterdam Ave. We went early, so there were some screaming kids. The drinks were well prepared, and the great food is cooked exactly to order. They really combine inventive, but not weird ingrediants and food combinations. And the chips and salsa are great - the salsa is puree - which is a nice change, but has excellent flavor and spices."

"Citrus was a nice experience for us--seniors who live in the neighborhood. Arriving at 6:00 p.m. worked because it was less crowded and less noisy.
We selected from the pre-theater menu and were pleased with the dishes--glazed salmon and grilled pork chop. The only negative was over-fried calamari as an appetizer.
We are returning to Citrus with a friend this Thursday and look forward to another good experience. We particularly enjoyed your excellent Margaritas, which lived up to their reputation."

"Awesome food (especially the exotic and interesting sushi, I am spoiled now and don't want to go anywhere else) and the service was outstanding. The manager came to our table to make sure we were happy and he was charming and obviously runs a tight ship. Having been in the restaurant business myself, I can honestly say that this restaurant is a find... A gem... One of the last few really exceptional dining experiences in New York City with superior food and excellent service. Well worth traveling out of your way!"

"Have been coming here for years and never had a bad meal. Sushi is outstanding especially the Ying and Yang roll. Drinks are generous and the Flavored Margaritas are my favorite. For Dinner you need to try the Pan Seared Jumbo Diver Sea Scallops or the Grilled Natural Skirt Steak my two favorite dishes. I have been here for Birthdays and Special Occasions and never had a complaint. Bar and Wait Staff are top of their game, never had to ask for a water refill. The Manager David always come to the table to say hi and ask how everything is doing. I feel at home. Can't wait to go back."

"The waitress got the order wrong. She also forgot about a drink order but I couldn't find her for 20 minutes to even ask. She never, not once, came to the table other than taking the order. Oh yes, there she is standing against the wall at the other side of the restaurant instead of tending to her tables. The busboy was the only attentive employee. He did a great job of trying to fill in for the waitress. He got our tip! Don't get the Citrus salad. The lettuce is old and wet. It looks like it's been sitting in that fridge for a week."

"We've walked past this place many many times on our way to shows at the Beacon Theater. I finally decided it was time to try it. Loved the fact that they were playing Allman Brothers before a Allman show. Drinks (mostly margaritas) were very good. I love that they're available by the liter. Menu is mix of Asian, Latin and American. We had one of the sushi roll specials to start. Fresh tasting and nicely made. Taco appetizer was very good. Entrees were done well. Meat cooked to the doneness we requested, sauces delicious and not overwhelming to the meat. Absolute best part of the meal, however, was the warm salsa that was served with the complimentary chips. I have no idea what's in that stuff, but wow it was delicious. We'll be ba"

"A really fun place with good food, and reasonable prices too. I had been there for brunch but this was my first dinner there. We found a young crowd obviously having a great time. They offer a combo of Latin and Asian dishes. This interesting mix of cuisines seems to have become a thing in NY. I had the shrimp dumplings which were very flavorful and came in a strong broth reminiscent of a very good wonton soup. I had the roast chicken on cheese mashed potatoes. The chicken was cooked perfectly, still moist all the way through. The service was very pleasant. I will definitely go back."

"Wasn't sure what to expect going on Valentine's day with my fiancee (honestly I thought it could be disastrous with a last minute reservation at 8pm like we had), but this place blew us away by both the food and the service. For the location of the restaurant, it didn't feel crowded and we were seated right at our reservation time. I got the sushi combination platter and my fiancee got the prime rib, both of which we shared and both of which were done excellently. The prices were average and a little pricey for a regular dinner spot but for a special occasion I would recommend. They even called in the morning to confirm we would be there. Definitely hope to go back."

"We liked everything here, with one exception -- the server got one of our orders wrong (be careful to specify clearly whether you're ordering the salad of yellowfin entree or the crusted yellowfin entree) and replaced the dinner quickly but never corrected the bill. Still, it was a very pleasant meal -- the spinach salad, sashimi appetizer, salad of yellowfin, and pomegranate-glazed salmon were all great. I don't think we would go back if we weren't staying close by -- mainly because there are so many other great choices throughout the city -- but it would be near the top of our list if we were in the UES."

"You know, I really hate giving restaurants anything but a good review. And considering that I've been here before and had a great time a few years ago, it seems like these guys really took a few steps back. But not to be too unfair, I was there for Valentine's day when the place was packed and clearly the kitchen/staff were overwhelmed. The biggest issue was probably the food. While the flavour was OK for the most past, the textures felt like they were either pre made, frozen/thawed, or waiting to be served after being reheated for a while. The plating was sloppy as well. Overall, we were thinking it would be a quiet and romantic evening but from the slow service to the uninspired food, I really don't think I will come back here again."

"We went for a family Valentine's dinner. We were seated downstairs, which we never knew existed. It was not as noisey / crowded as the main level, but definitely felt like we were in the basement. We were also suprised to arrive and find a special menu for Valentines Day, as there was no mention of that change on their website or on OpenTable. That said, our food was very good as was the service."
