"This is the first time we dined here. My kids wanted pasta. They shared a dinner entree and had enough between the two. The caprese salad was delicious. My filet was cooked exactly how I wanted it done. My husbands scallops were very good as well. The waiter was attentive, but not annoying."

"Perhaps it was because it was off season, but the wait-staff seemed a bit untrained. Wine list was somewhat limited (and with a high markup) but there are some decent selections. Beet salad was very good, snapper was decent, but nothing out of the ordinary. One of their specials is supposed to be the braised short ribs, my husband said that it was tender, but tasteless. We were intending to try a dessert, but the waiter took so long to return with the dessert menu, we decided to forgo that."

"We have been to Scottsdale twice and have come back here.... twice. It's really good. The salads are great. The main dishes are outstanding. The cannolis are a delight. The cocktails are generous. The prices are reasonable. I was very surprised by what a great time we had (both times) at this place."

"We went to Tommy V's during restaurant week. I was surprised how quiet it was for a Friday night. The service was prompt but the waiter appeared to be just going through the motions. I had the pork cutlet and my husband had the chicken marsala. Both sauces were bland and without much flavor to them. My husband's pasta sauce tasted like it had come out of a jar. We were really disappointed as we had high hopes. We won't be rushing back!"

"The place is owned by a nice couple, who were very accommodating and friendly. Our server was Chad and he was outstandingly thorough and thoughtful. The calamari appetizer was light and perfectly prepared. Our main courses were solid, though not completely exquisite. I would be here again on another trip to Scottsdale."

"We ate here much as the title says on Mother's Day for dinner. We had 5pm reservations, which strangely, but nicely meant an empty restaurant. The food on the whole was very good, the service excellent, and over they did a great great job. Highly recommend the Pancetta Wrapped shrimp, the Caprese Salad, the sides of Meatballs and Sausage, the Veal Milanese, and the Shrimp and Lobster Raviolis. Our whole party loved there meal, and the ambience and service made it an excellent choice!"

"We came the first time for a Mother's Day lunch. I was impressed with the quality of the food and the presentation. I tried their home-made pasta which was excellent. "Had a wonderful evening - it was great weather for patio dining and a gent on an acoustic guitar provided music for outdoor diners. I am very particular about picking places to dine especially in a city that is unfamiliar. I picked this after reading reviews online and having a look at the menu. This exceeded our expectations and we were still talking about how much we enjoyed it several days later. Our waiter was great - he was charming, engaging and was there any time we needed him but otherwise left us to our conversation and never rushed us. He even snapped a few pictures of our little group before we left. When we find ourselves back in Scottsdale, we'll definitely be back."

"Very good overall. Started with salads for the table and both were good. Main courses came out quick so don't order right away unless you're in a hurry. Everyone's main courses arrived hot and tasty. Had the fettuccine Bolognese and it was really good. Owner is hands on running the place and he is super personable. Prices are reasonable, we will be back."

"This restaurant was very boring and the food came far too quickly, making me think they already had all the food prepared and just heated it up in a microwave. We were in and out in 30 minutes and that was with a glass of wine each. We had the pasta bolognese and pasta trio. The bolognese was nice but the pasta trio was smothered in a fatty sauce and the pasta was overcooked. The portions were quite small for the price so we didn't bother with desserts. Service was okay but the ambiance was quite bland. I wouldn't bother with this place again."

"Nobody should miss this place for Italian food. The pasta trio was out of this world. As was the Risotto with hazelnuts and the side of Italian sausage. The beet salad was perfect - nice, rich and light. The owners were very attentive without being intrusive. Our waiter was terrific. The soft jazz provided by two wonderful musicians complimented our dining experience perfectly. We will be back next year when we are there again for Spring Training."

"We had an excellent experience at Tommy V's. We were greeted at the door by the owner and his wife and were taken care of the entire time we were there. The food was excellent, even according to my Italian girlfriend who is very picky about her Italian food. We are planning on going back on a regular basis."

"Our Open Table reservation was ready upon our arrival; we chose to eat outside which was very pleasant and comfortable.
The server was attentive. We both had the beet salad which was tasty, although there could have been some more beets and avocado in it. The two entrees were served hot and were delicious; one was the short ribs which were boneless, the other was a moist shrimp risotto. The bread was served hot and accompanied with a saucer of dipping balsamic with olive oil which we made more tasty with some parmesan cheese. We shared a half carafe of wine which was more economical than two individual glasses. We would return."

"This was my first time dining at Tommy V's Urban Kitchen and Bar. Very pleased with the service, staff attended to our group of four without being over-bearing. Two of us ordered the Eggplant Torte with Butternut Squash Ravioli and this was so tasty! Lightly seasoned, not greasy. My husband ordered the Veal Milanese and enjoyed his meal, and my friend ordered the Pan Fried Scallops and stated they were delicious.
When booking my reservation, I requested a table in the quieter section, to the far right, which they accommodated, enabling us to talk comfortably. The staff did not rush our dinner, giving us plenty of time to relax, enjoy our meal and spend time with our friends."

"Thoroughly enjoyed Tommy's. Service was the best I've had in weeks.... Attentive, discreet, friendly but not obtrusive and anticipated our needs. How refreshing! I have to say the pan seared scallops were the best I've ever had, and I'm no gastronomic slouch... My partner is a personal chef! Tommy V's hit it outta the park!"

"We had a group of 8. One of these needed to be gluten free. The owner called in advance to discuss the gluten issue and assure us that they had a lot of selections that could fit this need. The reception was friendly. The waiter was GREAT with a wonderful sense of humor and attentive to our needs. We ordered a diverse selection of foods. Everyone said their dish was delicious. This was a family get-together and we wanted a quite place where we could talk and not be rushed. Tommy's was PERFECT. We were seated in a pleasant outside plaza. The feeling was very european where they believe that a meal should be shared and unrushed. This was! We would highly recommend this place to anyone."
